Ariel sniffed softly and pulled her blouse back on.
Her mother hugged her again. This time, Ariel returned it fully. Arms around her mother. Head pressed against her shoulder.
Lux looked away. Not out of modesty. Just because the ache in his chest was sharp enough to count as debt.
Rava checked her phone. "My assistant is arriving in five."
The mother nodded. Her face was still blotchy, but her steps were steadier now.
The father extended his hand to Lux.
Lux took it.
"We owe you more than we can repay," the man said quietly. " I will send the invitation."
