"So," Vlad stood up from his seated posture, "what can I do…?"
"She told us what you are," Rosalie interrupted his question, folding her arms and staring straight into his irises.
"What does that…" He tried to speak out, but she cut in again.
"She also said you don't want to meet," she shot in, causing him to frown at her voice.
"I don't know what's going on here, and I don't even know you like that," he said, raising a brow with his words. "And I don't understand why we even have to meet." He giggled, clearly bothered by her words. "Alice told you everything." He grabbed his bag and hung it on his back. "Meeting is just… unnecessary."
But as he walked to leave, she followed.
"But they don't trust you," she said, moving close to his walking body. "The tribe of mutts, Carlisle told them about you," she persisted.
And Vlad only shrugged his shoulders, as if the words she had spoken held zero significance.
"Look," her words grew angry, "the only reason those 'dogs' aren't barging through your door as we speak is because Carlisle intervened. He told them they can trust you." She held his arm in an effort to stop his still-moving figure, yet her actions proved futile as his pace remained unshaken. She gave up. "He wants to see you because he's not sure if he is right." And Vlad stopped his pace, turned his head, and placed his eyes on her following figure.
"It doesn't matter if I meet him or not," Vlad said. "It's not like…" He stopped his sentence. "No," he softly answered, turned around, and left her still-standing self, standing there with her eyes still holding disbelief.
He had a heart, and blood moved through his veins.
When she touched him, the texture of his skin felt too human.
She did not know how it was or if it was possible.
She did not know what she felt or why she felt so triggered.
Was it jealousy?
Was it envy?
Or the yearning for that which was once her birthright?
The yearning for that which was fully taken.
That which was lost.

They heard them when they spoke.
They heard them when they said everything.
their talk, their discussion, their argument.
Even if they were speaking three blocks away.
"Alice," Edythe held her arm, their figures seated in the loudness of a cafeteria. And Emmett, who was sitting beside their figures, smiled at her words, perhaps feeling somewhat uncomfortable by what they had heard.
"I didn't expect her to do that," Edythe spoke while shaking her head, not much, just enough for both who were seated beside her to notice.
"Me too," Emmett shot in. "I thought she hated humans." He laughed at his joke. "Well, partially human." And Edythe just stared at him with a plundering expression, probably questioning if he was mentally ill.
Jasper, walking toward them from the doors, neared where they were seated, immediately kissing Edythe on the cheek. "What happened?" he said, as he could see the moody space of an atmosphere they had taken.
But before Edythe could answer, before their eyes could see Alice's smile,
two figures walked in through the wildly open doors.
One, her face housing an annoyed expression,
while the other, his face showing nothing but a large, abnormal grin.
Vlad did not look at them or act interested.
He just walked to the counter and ordered some food.
And as for Rosalie, she just stared at his retreating figure while shaking her head at its sight.
Ignoring the food court almost entirely, she moved to her table. And she immediately noted the eyes that were looking in her direction—not the eyes of humans or those of beasts, but the eyes of her loved ones, those she called family.
They weren't those of hate or those of judgment, just glares of wreaking disappointment.
So she neared their seats and sat on a stool beside their seated figures.
"What?" she shot in defense, her voice rising, but its sound still maintained its whispers.
"Don't act like you don't know we were listening," Edythe said. "We agreed that we would let Alice do all the talking," but Rosalie only folded her arms in response.
"Yeah, what you did was dangerous," Emmett tried to speak out.
"Dangerous," Rosalie interrupted, "the only thing dangerous here is you guys whispering like he can't hear what you are saying." And all their heads turned to Vlad with swiftness.
And Vlad, who was now moving to his table, kept his eyes locked directly on their figures, and he waved—not at them, but at Alice, who was seated in the front.
And she smiled back at his act.
"And like, fuck, you guys should thank me," she said, causing their heads to turn in an instant. "He agreed." And shock overtook their expressions.
"What do you mean?" Emmett tried to ask, but Rosalie's eyes were fixed directly on the smiling Alice, for some reason, the one person who was finding their discussion too hilarious to overlook.
"You saw it, didn't you?" Rosalie questioned, causing Alice to nod in response, her once-held-back faint laughs now nearly audible.
"What is she talking about?" Edythe, who had once been hugging Alice's arm, let it go, her expression now housing the thought of betrayal. And Alice pouted, sighed, and fixed her seated figure.
"Well… Vlad knows," she said. "He knows about the connection."
