Just then, Rias stood up abruptly from the bed, her eyes wide and voice sharp with alarm.

"Oh no—Kiba is in danger. We should go. Now."

Her sudden shift in demeanor made Asia flinch slightly. I stood as well, heart already beating faster. Whatever calm atmosphere had lingered from our earlier conversation was gone in an instant.

"How do you know?" I asked, already reaching for my shirt.

"I placed a detection spell on all my peerage members. Kiba's aura is fluctuating—he's engaged in combat, and… it feels like he's in trouble."

Without wasting another second, Rias activated her teleportation circle. The crimson magic pattern expanded at her feet and glowed with fierce energy.

"Take my hand," she ordered, her tone leaving no room for argument.

Asia grabbed Rias's left hand; I took her right.

"Hold on tight."

The next thing I knew, the world dissolved into streaks of red light. The air buzzed like electricity against my skin. Within moments, the blinding glow faded, and we were standing in the middle of a dimly lit back alley on the outskirts of Kuoh Town.

I didn't need to ask where we were. The acrid stench of ozone and the metallic tang of blood told me everything.

Ahead of us, Kiba was clashing swords with someone—someone I instantly recognized.

Freed Sellzen.

He was dressed in a ragged priest's garb, his expression manic and unstable. But what drew my attention wasn't his face—it was the weapon in his hands.

A holy sword.

A real one.

Its edge glowed with a pale, sacred light. It hummed with divine energy that made my skin crawl. Even from this distance, I could feel its purity—it was trying to reject our presence entirely.

Kiba was holding his ground, but only barely. Sparks flew as his demonic sword parried Freed's relentless slashes. Sweat poured from his brow, and his jaw was clenched tight. I could tell he was pushing himself to his limit just to avoid being cut.

"You fucking Devil freaks!" Freed howled. "You think you can just prance around like you own this town?! I'll purify every last one of you!"

He swung the holy sword with wild, untrained rage—but the sheer power of the weapon forced Kiba to retreat a few steps each time.

"This guy's completely unhinged…" I muttered.

Freed's aura wasn't particularly strong. If anything, his spiritual power was average for an exorcist. But that sword—its power turned him into a serious threat. One wrong move, and Kiba would be done for.

Rias stepped forward, her magic flaring to life in a blaze of crimson. The air distorted as power gathered around her, her presence becoming overwhelming.

"Freed Sellzen," Rias said coldly. "You're trespassing in our territory."

Freed paused. His eyes flicked to the side—and when he saw the magic circle beneath Rias's feet still glowing faintly, he froze.

"Oh? Oh no. That's not fair," he muttered.

Then he grinned—mad and twitching.

"Damn! The Princess herself comes out to play? This is above my pay grade!"

In a blur of motion, Freed backflipped away from Kiba, slamming something into the ground—a holy talisman.

Light exploded around him.

Rias tried to cast a binding spell, but the talisman flared again and countered her magic. A teleportation seal—imbued with holy properties—activated beneath Freed's feet. A dirty trick, but effective.

"Bye-bye, devils!" he shouted. "You can keep your fancy club meetings! I've got other things to purify!"

And then he was gone.

The alley fell into silence.

I exhaled slowly, my fists still clenched.

"Coward," I muttered. "I should just kill next time, I got the chance.

"Asia," Rias said immediately, "tend to Kiba."

Asia rushed forward without hesitation, her hands glowing with her signature green healing aura. Kiba, panting heavily, dropped to one knee and leaned on his sword. He looked worn down, but thankfully he wasn't mortally injured.

"He's okay," Asia said gently. "A few cuts, some holy energy residue, but nothing I can't fix."

Kiba looked up at us, his usual calm demeanor shaken.

"…He had a holy sword," he said through gritted teeth. "One of the Excalibur fragments. I'm sure of it."

Rias walked to his side and knelt slightly, her face serious.

"I know. I felt its energy the moment we arrived. That confirms it."

After we left the alley behind, Rias used her magic circle to teleport us directly to the Gremory quarters located on Kuoh's outskirts. Kiba was quiet the entire way, walking with a steady but tired pace. He didn't need to say anything—his silence was enough to tell us how heavy tonight had been for him.

When we arrived, he stopped just outside his room.

"You should get some rest," Rias said gently. "We'll talk more about this in the morning, okay?"

Kiba nodded, offering a faint smile. "Thanks. Both of you."

I gave him a nod in return.

He lingered for a moment, then turned and entered his room, shutting the door softly behind him.

With Kiba taken care of, Rias reactivated her teleportation circle. Asia and I stepped into the crimson glow beside her, and within moments, we were standing once again in the familiar living room of my house.
