Chapter 368 - Chapter 368: Sending Another One to the Heavens

The massive red body, the booming voice, the short blade hanging from his waist, and the pipe in his mouth.

This giant toad radiated an intimidating presence—and the man standing on his head was just as renowned.

"Gamabunta, can't you at least give me a little respect?"

"You still want respect? Get lost! You called me out to deal with this kind of monster. Hmph, the fact I didn't curse you already is me being polite, damn Jiraiya!"

Jiraiya, heir to Mount Myōboku, had now arrived at the battlefield.

That massive water cannon just now was Gamabunta's doing.

The giant blast of water gave Kokuō a thorough soaking and successfully infuriated both Kokuō and Han.

"I'll kill you!"

Kokuō erupted in a surge of scalding steam and charged straight toward Gamabunta and Jiraiya, his massive horns gleaming with a cold, dangerous light.

Seeing this, Gamabunta spat toward Jiraiya in annoyance.

"Hmph! Damn Jiraiya, I'll settle the score with you later!"

"Clang!"

Gamabunta drew his short blade, ready for battle, but Jiraiya stopped him.

"Gamabunta, be careful."

"Hmph! Yeah, yeah! I'll just treat him like Hanzo's little salamander!"

Kokuō was incredibly fast—he closed the distance in an instant, his enormous horn about to pierce Gamabunta.

"He's just a big horse!"

"I can jump!"

At the last split second, Gamabunta timed it perfectly and leapt into the air, evading the strike. At the same time, his short blade stabbed straight toward Kokuō's eye.

Unfortunately, his opponent was a tailed beast.

Scalding steam erupted again from Kokuō's body.

Under the searing heat, Gamabunta let out a pained grunt and was forced back, shouting loudly as he landed,

"Damn it, I forgot this guy spits steam!"

"Jiraiya, what do we do?"

"Hold on. Our goal is to stall him. Once Minato and the others arrive, everything will be fine."

The reinforcements weren't just Jiraiya. He and his beloved student Minato Namikaze had set out together, along with a thousand additional ninja.

But Jiraiya had arrived first on his own.

The battle resumed.

Kokuō's attacks were simple but devastating—whether it was brute strength or scorching steam, everything was destructive.

Gamabunta could only maneuver and dodge, and the fight between two giant beasts forced all nearby ninja to back away.

But even so, each collision caused overwhelming destruction.

Purely in terms of strength, Gamabunta was no match for Kokuō. Luckily, Jiraiya was supporting from the side, flinging one ninjutsu after another at Kokuō with reckless abandon.

"Gamabunta, something's off. It looks like something's falling from the sky."

Jiraiya suddenly snapped his head up to look toward the heavens. He thought he saw something plummeting down at high speed.

"Huh? What thing?"

Gamabunta widened the distance between himself and the tailed beast and looked up too.

That single glance stunned them both—Jiraiya, Gamabunta, and even the Five-Tails.

Because what was falling… was a massive, bright-red, four-tailed monkey.

"Damn, that's Rōshi!"

"Why the hell is he up there?"

Han's incredulous voice rang out. But the next second, a figure appeared right in front of him.

"Guess?"

"Want me to send you up there to try it out yourself?"

The eerie, ghostlike figure of Gekko Chizan once again set his sinful claws on a tailed beast.

That devilish smile made Han shudder. He recognized this man—the Ghost of Konoha, Gekko Chizan.

"You ba—"

Before the curse could even leave his mouth, the Five-Tails vanished on the spot.

Four-Tails disappeared first. Then Five-Tails.

The rapid succession of bizarre events made Tōshirō's eyes widen in disbelief.

And just a moment ago, he had heard their conversation—"up there?"

As his gaze followed upward, his eyes nearly popped out of his skull.

The Four-Tails was falling down!

"Everyone! Stop the attack and scatter!"

Tōshirō bellowed with every ounce of strength in his body, his roar echoing through the rear lines of the battlefield.

What kind of chaos would a fifty-meter-tall Four-Tails cause when it hit the ground?

Before this war, no one would have been able to answer. But now, everyone would give the same reply:

"Cataclysmic destruction!"

"I'll never forget that day—the blazing red Four-Tails fell from the sky."

"It flipped the entire battlefield upside down."

Gekko Chizan exhaled heavily. Sending not one but two massive tailed beasts into the air back-to-back wasn't something done lightly. His chakra was being drained like crazy. He was genuinely exhausted.

"Chizan, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm fine. It's just… sending tailed beasts that high into the sky is exhausting. As long as Chōmei keeps the chakra flowing, I'll manage."

Chōmei's chakra supply hadn't stopped once. Without it, Gekko Chizan would've already collapsed.

"White-haired Sage, get the hell out of here."

"The Four-Tails is about to crash down."

Gekko Chizan steadied his breathing and immediately shouted at Jiraiya to retreat.

Jiraiya was more than happy to oblige.

"What's with this 'white-haired Sage' crap! I'm Mount Myōboku's—"

Before Jiraiya could finish, Gamabunta was already leaping away, his massive body charging toward their own forces.

"Dammit, Gamabunta! I wasn't done talking!!!"

Hearing Jiraiya's yelling, Gekko Chizan shook his head. Just as he was about to move, he suddenly felt a vibration at his feet.

"Damn you, Konoha Ghost! You've caused all this and think you can just run?!"

"Earth Release: Rock Barrier!"

"Explosion Release: Rock Detonation!"

The voices of Tōshirō and another person rang out at the same time.

Both techniques were fast.

In the next moment, countless boulders surged up around Chizan, trapping him inside.

"Boom!"

The explosions erupted instantly.

The countless rocks detonated like bombs, their destructive power unimaginable.

Unfortunately for them, Gekko Chizan was a master of self-preservation. A part of his mind was always hooked onto Flying Thunder God.

The instant the tremors began, he was already gone.

He moved too fast for his enemies to even realize.

"Captain, retreat!"

"The Four-Tails is about to drop!"

The jutsu had already been released. Tōshirō didn't care if it worked or not—he immediately called his comrades to fall back.

"No, Tōshirō. You lead the retreat."

"The enemy isn't dead. I'm going after him."

"This is the mission of our Explosion Corps."

Iwagakure's Explosion Corps—a unit composed entirely of Explosion Release users, an elite assault team specializing in critical strike missions.

And Iwapō was their squad captain.

"Can you even find where he went?"

Iwapō looked in one direction, a firm glint in the middle-aged man's eyes.

"No. But I'll find him."
