Chapter 293 - Chapter 293: Seven Island

Ace looked at the quest again in disbelief, confirming he hadn't misread it. He then roared at the system: "Are you sure you didn't make a mistake? This is a Side Quest?"

"Based on the host's current strength and Pokémon, this system is absolutely certain that this is a Side Quest."

The system confirmed its published mission, shattering Ace's illusions.

"Then where's the Main Quest? Where are you hiding the Main Quest?"

"Based on the host's current strength and Pokémon, the Main Quest cannot be issued at this time. Please complete the current Side Quest first."

Faced with such a system, Ace was helpless.

After finishing his exchange with the system, Ace said to Crystal: "Fine, I'll go."

Seeing Ace concede, Crystal sighed in relief. She immediately found a map and circled Green and the others' location.

Ace glanced at the map, then checked it against the map on his electronic wristwatch for confirmation.

After confirming, Ace left the research lab and quickly headed for Seven Island aboard Aerodactyl.

The Fifth Island of the Seven Island archipelago was currently Team Rocket's hiding place.

Since Green discovered the location a week ago, she and the others had been continuously battling Team Rocket members.

Every time they tried to launch a full assault, a strange Pokémon would rush out and forcefully push Green and her allies back.

Moreover, this Pokémon was a master of hit-and-run tactics, never giving them an opportunity to retaliate. The constant back and forth had worn out Green and the others.

"Okay, I understand."

Red hung up the phone and said to Green and Blue: "Crystal called me. She got in touch with Ace. He should be arriving soon."

"Finally,"

Green sighed in relief. "These guys are too much trouble."

Blue nodded as well. He looked at the Team Rocket base, his brow furrowed.

The strange Pokémon blocking them wasn't the main issue. The truly critical factor was Team Rocket's boss, Giovanni .

Giovanni had only intervened once during this period, but that single encounter was enough to make them realize just how terrifyingly powerful the man had become over the years.

Giovanni of the Earth was no idle title.

Aerodactyl carried Ace to the Seven Island sea area. From high altitude, Ace pinpointed Five Island. Aerodactyl flapped its wings, diving down toward the island with Ace.

From above, the entire periphery of Five Island was surrounded by Pokémon League members, forming three lines of defense.

Under these circumstances, it was virtually impossible for Team Rocket members to break through the defensive lines and escape Five Island.

But still...

Ace sighed. Aerodactyl slowly descended, carrying Ace under the gaze of numerous League members.

Red and the others, who had been waiting, rushed over.

Walking up to Ace, Red clapped him on the back and smiled: "Finally, you're here! Now we can launch a total offensive."

Ace rolled his eyes and said helplessly: "What's the situation?"

"I'll explain."

Green stepped forward and began to narrate their experiences.

The general situation was similar to the original plot, but without the confiscation of their Pokédexes or any other major twists.

After listening to Green's account, Ace propped his chin up and said gravely: "It looks like Giovanni is stalling for time. He's waiting for something."

"I agree,"

Green nodded. "But that strange Pokémon is incredibly fast, making it impossible to break through and enter the base."

"A strange Pokémon?"

Ace was puzzled. Red quickly explained it to Ace, but unfortunately, the Pokémon's speed was so great that they couldn't get a clear look at it.

"But with you here, Ace, things should be simpler,"

Red said. "Your Chansey is strong enough to withstand its attacks. With just a momentary pause, the three of us focusing our attacks should be enough to defeat it."

"Sorry, my Chansey has already evolved into Blissey (Happy Egg),"

Ace told Red and the others. "And I didn't bring her this time."

Red was stunned. He scratched his head and said resignedly: "In that case, we might have to go in all four of us together and try to create an opening."

"No need for such trouble,"

Ace said. "I have a trump card."

"A trump card?!"

Meanwhile, inside the Team Rocket base, Giovanni stood in the control room, observing the entire island through hidden cameras.

"Cough, cough. Has he finally arrived?"

Giovanni took a handkerchief from his pocket and coughed twice into it. He then tucked the handkerchief away, looked at Ace on the screen, and turned to speak: "Initiate the plan."

"Yes!"

The Three Beasts behind Giovanni responded and quickly left the control room.

Carr, the shortest of the Three Beasts, walked last. Looking at Sird and Orm's retreating backs, Carr pulled out a photograph he had inadvertently found from his pocket.

The photo showed Giovanni holding a red-haired boy. Seeing the gentle smile on Giovanni's face, anyone could tell they were father and son.

"I hope I'm overthinking this,"

Carr muttered. "Don't betray us, Boss."

With that, Carr stuffed the photo back into his pocket and quickly caught up with Sird and Orm. The three went to their respective planned locations.

Carr was still uneasy. He pulled out a pile of Poké Balls, opened them, and released eleven Forretress.

He strategically placed the eleven Forretress in various locations, giving them only one directive.

The moment they received his signal, they were to execute Explosion!

This was Carr's contingency plan. If things went south, he would either drag the opponents down to hell with him, or... drag everyone down to hell with him!

Returning to the control room, Carr took out the photo and examined it closely, silently contemplating.

"The Boss's son went missing before, so this little boy must be his son."

"If that's the case, then the purpose of creating Deoxys is likely not what the Boss claims—to conquer the world. Instead, it might be to... find his son..."

Carr fell silent, a hint of confusion in his eyes. But this confusion was quickly replaced by a fierce resolve.

"If your goal, Boss, is merely such a trivial matter, then don't blame me for being ruthless..."

"Boom!"

Before Carr could finish his thought, a fierce explosion rang out.

The violent tremor shook Carr right off his control seat. He scrambled to his feet, looking around in alarm: "What happened? What's going on?! Did the enemy deploy heavy firepower?!"

Meanwhile, Orm, standing at the base's main entrance, was drenched in cold sweat as he looked at the almost empty scene outside. Then, he stared at the gigantic figure in the distance and said hoarsely: "What... what kind of monster is that?!"
