Chapter 15 - We Love You, Appa

Jungkook's POV

I saw their confusion, so I did what I had to do.

"Babies, listen carefully. That man is Kim Taehyung; he's your real father."

Their wide eyes and forming tears ached my heart.

"Mommy, what are you saying? Isn't Daddy our real father?" Taeyang asked, tears welling in his eyes. Mine, too.

"Mommy, if he's our real father, then why… why didn't he show up before? Why didn't you tell us?" Taegguk asked, a lump forming in my throat, preventing me from speaking.

"Sir, if you're our father, where were you? Why didn't you see us even once?" Taegguk asked Taehyung, who looked at him with regret, unable to answer. He finally burst into tears when Taeyang asked, "Do you not love us?"

Unable to control my tears, I pulled my precious children into my arms, caressing their backs and whispering apologies.

Author's POV

They cried for about fifteen minutes before calming down. Hoseok held Taegguk, and Jungkook held Taeyang.

Taehyung sat on the opposite couch, his head hung low.

"Baby, look at me," Jungkook said. The twins looked at him, patiently awaiting their mother's words.

"Don't say he doesn't love you. He loves you both very much. Something happened between me and your father, and we couldn't see each other, but your father loves you a lot, okay?" Jungkook said, gently caressing their faces.

The seven-year-old twins, inheriting Taehyung's intelligence, understood their mother and real father had fought.

"Baby, can you forgive your father for being away?" Hoseok asked.

The twins looked at Taehyung, silent. Taehyung understood if they couldn't forgive him, he had left them.

"Daddy, you love us, right?" Taeyang asked Hoseok.

"Of course, baby, always." he replied, kissing their foreheads.

Taehyung braced himself for their rejection, but then…

"Are you going to play with us from now?" Taegguk asked.

"I will! Definitely!" Taehyung said, determined to make memories with his children.

The twins hugged Taehyung tightly. He stumbled slightly but managed to hug them back.

"Don't leave us again," Taegguk said, burying his face in Taehyung's shoulder.

"I won't. I'll never leave again." he said, hugging them tighter.

"You'll see and play with us from now on, right?" Taeyang asked.

"Yes, I'll visit whenever you want, we can play whenever you want." Taehyung said, caressing and kissing their heads.

"We love you… Appa." Taehyung cried at their words.

They cried again, overwhelmed. Jungkook and Hoseok smiled, watching them.

"We made the right decision, baby." Hoseok whispered to Jungkook, kissing his head and wrapping his arm around him.

"Yes, we did. I love you." Jungkook replied, hugging him.

"I love you too, so much." Hoseok said, kissing him.

The Kims, Mins, and Irene watched from the dining room.

Seokjin noticed Irene's sad smile and, understanding, led her to the kitchen.

Seokjin's POV

In the kitchen, I gave Irene water.

"It's okay to cry. Holding it in is bad for your heart." I said, standing before her. She leaned against me and cried.

I comforted her until she stopped. I knew it hurt knowing Taehyung still had feelings for Jungkook. It's natural, especially when it involves someone you love.

After a few minutes, she drank more water. "I'm sorry for crying. I'm happy for Taehyung and his kids, but… it still hurts knowing he still loves Kookie. I understand, who wouldn't love Kookie? He's kind and helpful. He's lovable. If I'd met him first, maybe I'd have fallen for him, too."

She smiled, wiping her tears.

"Taehyung's cold to you, right? Don't worry, he'll realize his feelings soon. He's kind of dumb." I chuckled.

"Yeah, he's really dumb. Especially when he left Kookie." she said, and we laughed.

"Are you guys finished?" My husband asked from the dining room.

"Yes, we're okay now," I replied. He hugged me from behind, about to kiss my neck, but I lightly elbowed him, and Irene giggled.

"You guys are so cute, a really cute couple." she said, and we smiled.

Author's POV

It was 10:30 pm. The adults were drinking in the living room; the twins were asleep.

"Where do you want to take them, Taehyung? Do you have a place in mind?" Hoseok asked, holding a glass of wine and caressing Jungkook's sleeping head.

"Yes, I'm planning the amusement park and aquarium." Taehyung replied excitedly.

"They'll love that. They love amusement parks and animals." Jimin said, with Yoongi on his lap.

"They better be back by 9 pm. If not, I'm launching a search party." Yoongi said, glaring at Taehyung, who gulped.

"Yoongi! Don't be like that, it's their first time with him." Jimin said, glaring and pouting, making Yoongi soften.

"Don't worry, Taehyung. You can stay with them until 11 pm. If they don't want to go home, they can stay until tomorrow. You have a lot to catch up on." Hoseok said, smiling.

"You should bring Irene, she's your fiancée." Seokjin said. Taehyung almost declined, but Namjoon interrupted.

"Spend time with her, Taehyung. You have feelings for her. Don't deny it, she's been there for you." Taehyung fell silent, noticing Irene sleeping on his lap.

"I… I don't know. Jungkook's been on my mind. I'm sorry, Hoseok." Taehyung said apologetically.

"I understand, Taehyung. I'm not mad. But I won't give him up." Hoseok said seriously.

"I know. Seeing you both hugging earlier… I felt relief? Maybe because someone was there for him when I left. You were there when he needed love. I'm sorry for everything. Thank you for being there for him and the kids, my friend." Taehyung said. Hoseok smiled brightly.

"I think it's time I do that, too. Be there for Irene. I have to take care of her and try to love her." Taehyung said, gently brushing Irene's hair and smiling.

The others watched, seeing their future happiness.

The night continued with laughter and stories. Yoongi considered forgiving Taehyung.
