By the seaside, the duel between Blair and Alexis unfolded.
"It's my turn!" Blair drew five cards from her deck. Looking at her hand, a smile bloomed on her youthful face. "Alexis-senpai, I'll show you just how deep my feelings for Lord Jaden are! I summon Maiden in Love!"
The light of a summoning circle flickered before Blair. As the radiance faded, a cute girl wearing a pale yellow princess dress appeared on the field.

"Such a fragile card..." Alexis muttered, her brow furrowing as she looked at the non-threatening monster. And in attack position? Is she really playing like a child?
"I set two cards and end my turn!"
Two face-down cards appeared on Blair's field as she concluded her turn with a fluid motion. Despite her thin defenses, it was clear Blair was comfortable with the flow and mechanics of a duel. She didn't look like a beginner at all. Having passed the Duel Academy entrance exam, she had proven she at least possessed the strength of a Ra Yellow student.
I can't underestimate this child, Alexis thought silently, her finger resting atop her deck. "My turn, draw!"
Alexis stared at the card she had drawn, her gaze narrowing. "Fine, let's settle this quickly. I activate the spell card Polymerization! I fuse Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater from my hand!"
A fusion vortex swirled behind Alexis. Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater leaped into the air and plunged into the center of the vortex. As the light of the fusion dispersed, a tall, sexy woman with long blue hair glided out from the radiance with an elegant dance move. After performing a graceful lap around the field, she came to a halt beside Alexis.

"ATK 2100, huh?" Blair frowned. It was obvious that compared to Alexis's monster, her own monster's attack power was almost negligible.

"Go! Cyber Blader, attack Maiden in Love!"
Alexis launched her attack without hesitation. She had no interest in playing "duel games" with an elementary schooler. She treated every duel as a serious battle and gave it her all.

As her words fell, Cyber Blader glided forward. With a spectacular dance move, she delivered a roundhouse kick, the ice blades on her feet striking the maiden with force.
"Ah!"
Unexpectedly, despite the impact, Blair's monster was not destroyed. Instead, with a pitiful cry, the girl simply fell back onto her rear, looking up with a tearful, heartbroken expression.
"The type that cannot be destroyed by battle?" Alexis realized instantly.
"Exactly! As long as Maiden in Love is in attack position, she cannot be destroyed by battle," Blair explained, crossing her arms with a look of pure smugness on her small face. "Because the offensive of a girl in love is invincible! And that's not all."
"Not all?"
Alexis instinctively glanced at her own monster. She noticed something was wrong with Cyber Blader. A red heart was thumping rhythmically thump-thump, thump-thump on the side of her monster's body.
This Maiden Counter gave Alexis an ominous feeling.
I was too reckless. I attacked without fully understanding the opponent's monster effects. If it were Jaden, he definitely wouldn't have made such a rash decision.
Gritting her teeth, Alexis was forced to set a card and conclude her turn. "I set one card and end my turn."
"Oh? Your offensive doesn't look very fierce, Alexis-senpai," Blair teased, refusing to let the opportunity pass. "It seems your pursuit of Lord Jaden isn't very passionate either."
"Wh-What are you talking about?! Who said I was pursuing that guy?" Alexis's face flushed red, feeling the shame of having her secret dug up.
"My, Alexis-senpai isn't even as open-minded as an elementary schooler," Blair huffed, drawing a card from her deck. "In that case, let me show you what a true 'love offensive' looks like! I activate the Equip Spell, Cupid's Kiss!"
Blair flipped the card, and a tiny angel with small wings materialized on the field. The little angel flew over to the maiden and gave her a soft peck on the cheek. In that instant, the maiden's body erupted in a dazzling glow. Although neither her ATK nor DEF had changed, the atmosphere felt subtly different.
"This is the power of a girl in love! Go! Maiden in Love, attack Cyber Blader!" Blair declared her attack loudly.
The command was given. The maiden immediately hiked up her skirt and ran clumsily toward Cyber Blader.
"How is that possible? Attacking a monster with high ATK with one that has low ATK?" Alexis thought frantically. Wait, even if she won't be destroyed by battle...
Before Alexis could finish the thought, she saw the maiden trip and fall flat on her face right in front of Cyber Blader. At that exact moment, Alexis saw the red heart beside Cyber Blader beating faster and faster.
"Because of Spirit Barrier, I take zero battle damage!" Blair shouted. "The attack didn't cause damage, but in this moment, the effect of Cupid's Kiss activates! During the end of the damage step where a monster with a Maiden Counter battles the equipped monster, I take control of that monster!"
Bang!
The red heart shattered. Cyber Blader's face immediately contorted in an expression of pain.
"What?" Alexis was stunned. Only now did she fully understand the synergy of Blair's deck.
"This is bad... Cyber Blader." Alexis watched her own monster turn around, looking back at her with a cold, indifferent gaze. Her face grew pale.
"And my battle phase isn't over yet!" Blair threw her arms open and yelled, "Go! Cyber Blader, attack Alexis-senpai directly!"
"Hah!" With a sharp cry, Cyber Blader turned and delivered a kick toward Alexis. If this strike connected, it would deal massive, solid damage.
"I activate my face-down! Quick-Play Spell, De-Fusion!" Alexis waved her hand.
A flash of light erupted as Cyber Blader's body glowed brilliantly, splitting into two distinct beams of light. "De-Fusion returns one Fusion Monster on the field to the Extra Deck. If all the materials used for its fusion are in the Graveyard, I can special summon them back to the field!"
The two lights dissipated. Etoile Cyber and Blade Skater reappeared on Alexis's field.

"Tch, so you managed to dodge it," Blair muttered, setting a card from her hand. "Fine then. My turn ends. It's your move, Alexis-senpai."
Looking at Blair's playful and cute smile, Alexis's expression remained heavy and solemn.
She's strong! Blair's dueling skills were exceptionally high. One wrong move, and Alexis would likely lose to this terrifying chain of effects.
Blair's monsters couldn't be destroyed by battle, and as long as she had a monster on the field, she took no damage. Furthermore, any monster that attacked her would have its control snatched away on the following turn.
