“Do you really have to hold me like this?” I asked petulantly. The tips of my ears burned with embarrassment at the thought that any one of the passing pedestrians could turn and see me wrapped up in Kyle’s arms.
“I tried to catch up to you, but you were faster than I had expected.” Kyle shrugged, giving me the distinct feeling that he hadn’t actually tried all that hard to reach me.
“That’s kind of hard to believe—your legs are like twice as long as mine,” I grumbled. My hands reached up to fumble with the hat covering my head. Confusion creased my brows as I realized it was a red baseball cap. “Where did you get this?”
“From a shop I found while walking,” he replied nonchalantly.
“And where did you get the money to pay for it?” I inquired pointedly.
“Miu changed my Laurentian pounds into the local currency. Turn this way for a moment,” he directed. “It is a little large.”
