"Then tell me, where's the source of that power?" Aoki ignored Asuramaru's comment; he wanted to resolve Yūichirō Hyakuya's situation quickly. The current battlefield situation wasn't favorable for the humans.
"There," Asuramaru pointed to the sky behind him.
Aoki looked. A blinding golden light filled the sky, with dozens of winged angels gathered together, blowing trumpets.
Aoki's eyes narrowed. He'd never seen such a spectacle. "So, if I eliminate them, Yūichirō will return to normal? I understand."
As Aoki prepared to attack, Asuramaru warned, "Let me remind you, these are extraordinary beings. If you think you can handle them, go ahead."
Aoki hesitated, then charged.
He threw a Flying Raijin kunai into the sky, teleporting to its peak when it reached its maximum height, then threw another kunai, closing the distance to the angels.
He finally raised Yōitsu.
"Devouring Breath, Tenth Form: Devouring Ultimate Technique: Extinguish!"
The massive black blade descended like a giant, seemingly freezing the air. A powerful shockwave rippled through Yūichirō Hyakuya's mindscape, threatening to destabilize him.
After the attack, Aoki used a pre-placed Flying Raijin kunai to return to the surface.
The shockwave dissipated, and Aoki looked back up to find the angels completely unharmed, continuing to blow their trumpets.
Aoki was stunned. He knew the power of the final form of Devouring Breath, yet it hadn't inflicted any damage. This was unbelievable.
Aoki was at a loss. None of his techniques could eliminate the angels, meaning he couldn't stop the berserk Yūichirō Hyakuya.
Just when he thought all hope was lost, Yūichirō Hyakuya cried.
A single tear rolled down his cheek, surprising even himself.
Aoki had an idea. Returning to the real world, he saw Mikaela Hyakuya holding Yūichirō Hyakuya close.
"No, Yūichirō, don't kill anyone. Once you kill, there's no turning back," Mikaela Hyakuya yelled, holding Yūichirō Hyakuya tightly.
Yūichirō Hyakuya calmed down, the wing-like appendages disappearing, his eyes returning to normal. He collapsed.
"He's calmed down?" Aoki breathed a sigh of relief, but Mikaela Hyakuya scooped up Yūichirō Hyakuya.
"I won't let you humans use Yūichirō again. I'm taking him," Mikaela Hyakuya declared, his gaze unwavering, even against Aoki, who could single-handedly fight four vampire nobles.
"What are you talking about? I don't understand," Aoki said irritably. "Give Yūichirō back. I won't kill you, considering you were his family. Now, leave."
Mikaela Hyakuya ignored the threat, holding Yūichirō Hyakuya close.
"You're annoying," Aoki said, charging forward. Before Mikaela Hyakuya could react, Aoki punched him, sending him flying, and scooped up Yūichirō Hyakuya.
On the vampire side, Ferid Bathory and the others were taken aback by Yūichirō Hyakuya's outburst.
"What was that? The humans created such a powerful monster," Crowley Eusford said, a bead of sweat trickling down his forehead. He wondered what would happen if he faced the berserk Yūichirō Hyakuya.
"Who knows? Humans love to experiment. In the end, they lose control. Poor little Mikaela," Ferid Bathory said, looking at Guren Ichinose, who was watching him with amusement.
Then, he noticed someone observing them from a distance.
Someone was indeed watching, using a sniper rifle.
"Ah, spotted from that distance? That vampire must be quite perceptive," a man with white hair and handsome features said.
"Byakkomaru, devour all enemies!"
He fired. Instead of bullets, a rapidly expanding white tiger emerged from the barrel.
With a ferocious roar, the tiger charged towards Ferid Bathory.
Ferid Bathory and the others quickly evaded the attack. The tiger landed, causing a massive explosion. A direct hit would have been devastating.
"Close call! If I hadn't seen that human's expression, I'd be dead," Ferid Bathory said cheerfully, once again escaping death.
"I don't know how you stay so optimistic," Crowley Eusford muttered.
Then, they noticed numerous Vampire Extermination Unit members had appeared behind Guren Ichinose, easily over a hundred. This was clearly human reinforcement.
"This is quite impressive. It seems our plan to take Shinjuku is failing," Ferid Bathory said, his gaze suddenly hardening as he saw a figure appear behind Guren Ichinose.
"A side branch member capable of this? Impressive, Lieutenant Colonel Ichinose," a stern-faced man with short black hair said. "The Hīragi family will take over from here. You and your trash can retreat."
"Ding!"
