"I activate my Equip Spell, Mask of Brutality!" Lumis let out a strange cackle.
"An Equip Spell?" You Feng was momentarily stunned, but he quickly realized what was happening. Because this was a tag-team duel, any set Spells or Traps effectively belonged to the team.
Once it reached his partner's turn, it was as good as being Lumis's own turn. Therefore, even though the set card wasn't a Quick-Play Spell, it could still be activated during his partner's turn though it still couldn't be used during an opponent's turn.
"Heh heh, Mask of Brutality increases the ATK of Masked Beast Des Gardius by 1000 points and decreases its DEF by 1000!" Lumis laughed weirdly. "However, due to its effect, we have to pay 1000 LP every turn, or it will be destroyed. Such a headache, isn't it?" Lumis smiled faintly.
"Don't worry, partner. From my hand, I activate the Continuous Spell, Masked Doll! As long as this card is on the field, any effect that requires paying Life Points as a cost is absorbed by Masked Doll instead. This way, we don't have to pay a single point of LP every turn! Heh heh," Umbra said with a cold sneer.
"Beautifully done, Huixia!" Lumis chuckled.
"Manju of the Ten Thousand Hands, attack Lord of D.!!" Umbra shouted.
Boom!
Lord of D. was instantly destroyed.
-200 LP. Kaiba's Life Points dropped to 3800.
"Mada mada dane! (It's not over yet!) Masked Beast Des Gardius, attack Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon!" Umbra pointed a large hand forward, a wide grin splitting his face.
"I activate my set card! Shadow Spell!" Kaiba snorted coldly, pointing back. "It targets one of the opponent's monsters, reducing its ATK by 700, preventing it from attacking, and changing its battle position! I target Masked Beast Des Gardius!!"
Clang! Clang!
"Nani?!" Umbra was stunned.
Several chains suddenly erupted from beneath Des Gardius's feet, binding the beast tightly.
"Hmph. Did you really think I'd leave myself open after you played a few pathetic tricks?"
"Tch! I set one card and end my turn!" Umbra snapped, clearly frustrated that the monster he had worked so hard to summon was now bound.
"My turn! I draw!!" Kaiba drew another card.
"Hmph, flashy dueling is useless before me! I activate the effect of Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon! Once per turn, I can destroy one monster you control. Perish, Masked Beast Des Gardius! In exchange, Blue-Eyes Alternative White Dragon cannot attack this turn." Kaiba waved his hand, and just as a brilliant burst of light was about to vaporize Des Gardius, Umbra began to cackle.
"Don't make me laugh. How could I let you hit me whenever you please? I activate my set card, Curse! During the turn this card is activated, I can discard one Spell from my hand to force the opponent's Battle Phase to end! Furthermore, all face-up monsters have their effects negated until the end of the turn!" Umbra laughed mockingly.
The blast of light vanished mid-air. Kaiba ground his teeth; he was still unable to land an attack this turn.
"Nothing but petty tricks. I set two cards and end my turn," Kaiba said disdainfully.
"My turn! I draw!" Lumis drew his card.
"Heh heh, with our ultimate coordination, you have no chance of winning. I summon Melchid the Four-Faced Beast from my hand!" A smirk curled at the corner of Lumis's mouth.

"Heh heh... Melchid the Four-Faced Beast, attack You Feng's defense monster!!" Lumis directed his gaze toward You Feng.
Boom!
"Hm? You Feng, what kind of trash deck are you using? This is just a monster card with no effect at all?" Lumis blinked in surprise as he looked at the field.
"Masaka..." Umbra muttered, a thought seemingly occurring to him.
"Partner, be careful. Both of them have God cards. This guy is likely planning something big," Umbra whispered into his mask. There was a tiny intercom hidden beneath their masks that allowed them to communicate without others noticing.
"Relax, partner. I have my ways. Heh heh!!" Lumis didn't seem concerned.
"Owari da (It's over)," Umbra murmured, his lips curling into a smirk.
"Are? It seems you've come up with some 'great' countermeasure. But are you sure a strategy like that will actually work?" You Feng gave a light, breezy laugh.
As soon as You Feng spoke, both of them shuddered, seemingly intimidated by his sheer aura.
What does this guy mean? Is he... not planning to summon a God?
