Kimi's POV
His apology caught me completely off guard. I couldn't tell if he meant it or if this was just another way to humiliate me.
I turned to face him directly. "For what?"
His lips parted like he wanted to speak, then snapped shut again. Something was holding him back.
I studied his appearance while waiting for an answer. Aleena jeans hugged his legs, and a white t-shirt stretched across his broad chest. His muscles strained against the fabric, especially around his arms where intricate tattoos wound around his skin. The white cotton made every dark line of ink stand out in sharp contrast.
My gaze drifted back to his face. His thick eyebrows drew together, and his jaw clenched repeatedly as he struggled to find words.
"I talked to Alvin," he finally said, refusing to meet my eyes.
"About what?" Confusion colored my voice.
I had no desire to have this conversation with him. The memory of that night still burned fresh in my mind - his cruel words, his dismissive attitude.
