Kimi stepped through the university gates and immediately felt the weight of curious stares following her every move. Students clustered in small groups, their heads turning as she passed by, whispers trailing in her wake.
She exhaled sharply and muttered under her breath, "What now?"
Despite her attempts to keep walking and ignore the attention, a lanky boy with messy brown hair broke away from his group of friends and jogged up to her path.
"Hey, Kimi," he called out, slightly breathless. "Is it true about you and Bennett? Because if you're having second thoughts, maybe you'd consider going out with someone else?"
Kimi stopped dead in her tracks, her eyebrows shooting up in surprise. She had no idea how news about her and Bennett had spread so quickly through campus.
