Peggy Carter naturally heard the name Gwen Stacy. She searched the name and finally reached a conclusion as to why the Peter Parker from the parallel timeline wouldn't believe Gwen killed his universe's Peter Parker: regardless of whether the long-haired version of Gwen Stacy he knew was his girlfriend, within Earth-65, Gwen Stacy, Harry Osborn, and Peter Parker were absolutely the best of friends.
If Spider-Woman was Gwen Stacy, then there was no doubt she could not have intentionally murdered Peter Parker; it had to have been an accident.
Peggy Carter's eyes gleamed. She had always wanted to assemble a team of superheroes to fight against this incredibly messed-up world. Unlike the Earth-616 main universe, the Earth-65 main universe was a world that was outwardly glamorous but secretly corrupt. Most super-powered individuals used their abilities almost exclusively for fame and money, inevitably getting entangled in all sorts of shady power and sex dealings. Superhumans untouched by societal corruption were rare.
The fact that Peggy Carter, as the Director of S.H.I.E.L.D.—tasked with maintaining world peace—couldn't field ten super-powered agents was the best proof.
Every super-powered individual who could commit to fighting for S.H.I.E.L.D. was precious. Every superhuman who would fight for order was vital.
Perfect. Spider-Woman had just encountered a terrible fight. Peggy Carter would now evaluate the combat effectiveness of this new superhuman!
At that moment, the silent Harry, standing outside Peter's room, suddenly had his phone ring. He took it out, looked at it with a strange expression, and then explained to Peter: "Uh, this is from the Director. It's a live video of Spider-Woman's fight."
Since there was also a long-haired version of Gwen here, and since Harry hadn't fully accepted the reality of parallel universes yet, he continued to refer to the short-haired Gwen as Spider-Woman. Harry opened the live stream, allowing Peter and Gwen to watch Spider-Gwen's fight together.
A winged enemy was battling Spider-Gwen. Peter watched for a moment and remarked, "Isn't that the Vulture? His skills are even worse than the one in our world."
"You know him?"
"Adrian Toomes. He self-developed an anti-gravity flight system. Other than that, he can probably launch blades from his wings, but no other abilities," Peter said, then added an extra detail: "In our universe, you were dating his daughter, Liz."
Me and his daughter Liz? Is that Liz from Gwen's band? But this world's Liz isn't named Toomes... Harry muttered, watching Spider-Gwen and the Vulture fight with Peter.
Just as Peter said, the Vulture's fighting power wasn't very strong. Aside from flying at high altitudes and tossing a couple of blades, he had no special abilities.
But even so, Spider-Gwen... was losing.
She only managed to use her webs to grapple the Vulture, who then dragged her into the sky. Due to the high speed and wind pressure at altitude, the web she fired with her other hand couldn't accurately hit the Vulture. Finally, the Vulture violently tossed her, causing her to crash, free-falling toward the ground.
"Is Spider-Woman going to die from the fall?" Harry asked.
"At that height, even the newly debuted me wouldn't die, but her back will probably hurt a lot," Peter replied to Harry's question.
A few minutes later, both Peter and Venom thought the same thing:
[She's terrible.]
Venom perfectly articulated Peter's thought. Peter tried to defend her, "She's only been at this for a few months..."
[She's been at this for nine months, same as you.]
"And she hasn't had much training..."
[You were only three months in and only had Uncle Ben's training, and you fought better than her.]
"..."
Peter eventually ran out of excuses. He looked at Harry and Gwen. "Should we go pick up this... Spider-Woman?"
Harry nodded silently. "Ah, yeah, sounds good. Let's go."
"My back, my back..."
Dazed from the fall, Spider-Gwen was lucky not to hit the pavement but landed on a garbage truck. When she finally woke up, smelled her surroundings, and realized where she was, she snapped fully awake. Startled, she sat up and quickly web-slung away from the garbage truck.
"Great, Gwen. So how are you going to explain this smell to Mary Jane and the others..."
"Maybe you won't need to explain, Gwen."
A familiar voice appeared behind her, yet her spider-sense hadn't gone off. Spider-Gwen looked back in surprise. Landing behind her was Earth-616 Peter Parker, along with Earth-65 Harry Osborn, who was now wearing a green powered armor suit, his skin colored green, standing on a flying glider.
"Harry? Er, you're not some..."
"I'm not a visitor from another world, Gwen. I'm the Harry Osborn you know."
Harry looked at Gwen and asked, somewhat coldly, "We need to talk. About Peter."
Adrian Toomes was being beaten by a miserable, blind lawyer and was pleading for mercy.
"I really, I really didn't know she was Kingpin's target. Maybe, maybe she's not dead. I just tossed her away. I don't even know if she died. Maybe she's still alive..."
"Then bring her to me. Bring Spider-Woman to me. Bring her to the Kingpin, Adrian..."
"Enough, Matt. Don't trouble the poor man anymore."
The shyster lawyer, Matt Murdock, stopped, retracting his short sword into his cane. He smiled at the person who walked over. "Hello, Miss Cindy. What brings you here?"
"I need this man, Matt. And I'm also very interested in your bulletproof enforcer, Aleksei Sytsevich," Cindy Moon smiled at Matt. "Tell your boss I can prepare the goods he needs. Also, Spider-Woman is not dead. Not only is she alive, but she's brought some special friends."
"Fine, we can't ignore the suggestion of our biggest partner. How much product are you offering in exchange?"
"An entire crate. How about that?"
After a moment of silence, Matt Murdock gave a satisfied smile.
"Deal. Let's exchange money and goods."
