When Nimrod exploded due to receiving a massive influx of data amounting to "infinity," the entire battle came to a halt. The air seemed to freeze. After a few seconds, Peter tentatively asked Kitty, who was clinging to his face, "Uh, is it over?"
"Hmm? Oh, ah!"
Coming to her senses, Kitty "slid" down from Peter's back and stood beside him. Looking at the puddle of liquid metal on the ground, she asked in disbelief, "Just like that... it's over?"
"Yes."
"It feels almost surreal that it ended this way. An enemy that no one could destroy was suddenly solved." Kitty looked at Peter with confusion. "How did you do it?"
The answer lay in Peter's fundamental abilities.
When Peter opens a portal, he actually tears the reality of Universe 616 itself, creating a rift to facilitate transport. Peter had already experimented with this technique against enemies like Belasco, and the conclusion was that it was incredibly effective.
This was currently the only method the Avengers possessed to directly manipulate reality against an enemy. In the Marvel Universe, the priority of reality alteration is far higher than any magic or physics; naturally, it could directly erase Nimrod. Combined with Kitty's intangibility, Nimrod could be defeated.
This had been Peter's primary plan. If Nimrod hadn't chosen to use telepathy against him, Peter would have used Kitty's help to slowly and completely erase Nimrod's mass, making him vanish from Earth-616 entirely.
Of course, it didn't come without a price. A noticeable gap would appear in Universe 616, and denizens of other universes and dimensions would begin attempting to enter through it. Strange was destined to be furious, and Peter would have to spend time repairing reality.
"Aside from that, there was the possibility of him using telepathy against me. My... well, soul, you could say, is quite special. It's connected to an existence called the Web of Destiny. Sinister once tried to control me telepathically and was attacked by the Spider-Totem."
In truth, it was even more complex. The Web of Destiny is a celestial map recording the soul information of the entire multiverse. This meant that its information volume was essentially infinite. The souls of countless lives across countless times and universes within the entire multiverse flooded into Nimrod's database as raw data.
This directly overwhelmed Nimrod's computational capacity.
"It's not just this Nimrod we've defeated now, even—wait? Watch out!"
Peter suddenly realized something was wrong. In his haste, he grabbed Kitty around the waist and swung away. He then saw Juggernaut, who had been banished from Earth-616 by Doctor Strange, tearing his way back through the empty space where nothing had been before.
It was clear that various factions were concerned about this rift and were eager to pour into Earth-616.
"Leave Juggernaut to us, Spider-Man. We're old rivals, after all."
Cyclops had Nightcrawler bring Logan's mangled remains back onto the plane, then spoke up: "You've done us a massive favor. Take a good rest now."
"...I am indeed a bit tired, and I suspect I'm going to be even more tired soon."
Cyclops laughed. "You have to learn how to rest, Spider-Man. Get some sleep."
Watching the Blackbird jet depart, Kitty ignored how they were going to get back and continued her chatter: "Should we celebrate? Maybe grab a meal or something? How about a Chinese restaurant? I remember you saying you really liked a certain Chinese place. Oh wait, that was the you from another universe talking to the me from another universe..."
"Kitty, if you keep talking, we'll only have time to buy sandwiches from a 24-hour convenience store."
In the distance, Illyana interrupted Kitty's rambling: "If you two aren't planning on catching a ride, I'm leaving on my own."
"Let's go."
Kitty immediately changed her mind and stood behind Illyana with Peter. They used a stepping disc to return to New York. She glanced at Peter's face, still covered by his mask, and withdrew her gaze with a hint of disappointment.
"So, shall we go celebrate?"
Peter thought for a moment, then looked at Illyana.
"Alright. Let's all go celebrate. Celebrate the fact that we won."
Within the pocket-dimension version of Limbo on Earth-811, the battle continued. Takuya Yamashiro, the emissary from hell, Spider-Man, was piloting Leopardon. With a single strike of the Sword Vigor, he wiped out all the Wild Sentinels and the Nimrod manufacturing plants.
The 2029 Nimrod began flashing error reports frantically, while the 2059 Nimrod—the one with emotions—was quite literally dumbfounded. He stared in complete incomprehension at the giant robot that looked like a child's toy and the sword in its hand.
What is this? Is this even logical? What on earth is that? Where are my Wild Sentinels, the ones where just three could slaughter 16 million mutants in a day? Gone?
It wasn't just Nimrod; even Apocalypse and the other Spider-Men were equally stunned.
"I take it back. This guy is—Too Cool!"
The Amazing Spider-Man kicked the surface of a Nimrod unit. Realizing he couldn't cause any damage, he simply made way for the charging Wolverine. Wolverine, who had been transformed into the Horseman of Death by Apocalypse, was able to deal effective damage to Nimrod, though he still couldn't stop Nimrod's self-healing.
"This doesn't change our disadvantage. Takuya mentioned that the Sword Vigor needs to be charged."
Miguel used his talons to intercept an attack in front of Nimrod, while simultaneously sending a transmission to all the Spider-Men: "Everyone pay attention, prioritize your own safety. We already have the upper hand."
"The upper hand? I certainly can't see it."
The 2059 Nimrod laughed, but suddenly, the Nimrod units around him—those he wasn't directly controlling—began to explode one after another. Then, he received an even more incredible and absurd piece of news.
The native Nimrod of Earth-811 had crashed due to a massive calculation task that exceeded its capacity.
In a mere instant, Ultron took over the entire system. He began to engage in a data struggle with the 2059 Nimrod by plugging into Nimrod's data streams, and immediately sent his downloaded data to the Spider-Man of Earth-811.
The Earth-811 Spider-Man's expression shifted because he saw the information projected by Ultron through his tactical visor.
The 2059 Nimrod had already begun manufacturing even further Nimrod variants.
"Nimrod must be destroyed here, at all costs. In fact, we've already dealt with our own Nimrod."
Peter looked at the fewer than ten ordinary Nimrod Sentinels remaining before him and made up his mind.
"We still have to kick these guys out and completely save our world."
"No matter what your scheme is, today you must die!"
