Being soft in the business world gets you nowhere. I'm only now learning what my grandma means when she says that to me.
"See, our profits will increase dramatically if we just go public."
I rub my nose bridge, doing my best to hold in the words I want to spew to my acting CEO's face. "Keith."
"Yes, sir," he replies, innocence oozing in his tone as he turns to look at me, beaming.
Unlike Calvin, this guy doesn't piss me off on purpose. I can feel it. He really wants what's best for the resorts, wants them to fly high up in the charts and compete with hotels like my grandma's. But that in itself is a problem. I've tried telling him time and time again that going public will put me on my Grandma's rival business radar—whatever she will do if she finds out I'm behind the operation.
"We're not yet too big to manage fighting with big hotels, you know that right?"
"We make millions a month sir. This has become a celebrity getaway place."
