"Guess you're happy she stalled me." Calvin's deep voice echoes in the cream hallway as we make our way outside the mansion with security on our tails.
Grandma asked them to send us off just in case we decide that words aren't enough to convey our message and fight.
"Hmm, I wouldn't say I'm happy to be exact. I like to think of what Grandma did as her doing risk management. I mean, would you want the money you toiled your entire life to fall into the wrong lineage's hands?"
Calvin presses his lips into a thin smile, "You sound as if you believe the child isn't mine."
"I didn't say that," I blink at him innocently. I mean that. Calvin is the most selfish man I know, so for him to go out of his way to claim a baby that isn't his—and even go as far as marrying the mother…
