I have always imagined what it would be like if someone who wronged me got the best of karma. Would they have the worst experience of their life? Would they be hurt by something and have a scar? Maybe they would be broken inside?
The last thing I would have imagined would happen was seeing a person who wronged me pregnant, and looking as though she is homeless even though her husband is a billionaire.
I watch in silence as Briana approaches the elevator where I'm standing, because as it has it, this is the location we are destined to meet. Every fucking time.
She doesn't greet me—not that I expected her to in the first place. The way her face was scrunched as she approached was already a good enough excuse in my head. One of her hands is placed right below her big belly, the other rubbing it soothingly… though it looks more as if to calm whatever pain she is feeling in there.
"Good there mate?" I ask, tilting my head to the side in time with the elevator dinging open.
