I am now free. Briana left a while ago after Mera handed the documents to approve her leave. Seeing as how she didn't give my assistant trouble, I think she wanted to leave just as much. Her pride just got the best of her, probably.
A cool breeze fills my office from the windows, clean and crisp much like the drying leaves outside. I glance in Mera's direction. She is seated right before me on the new two-seater couch—hopefully Desmond and I won't break this one anytime soon.
"Any early plans tomorrow?" I question, closing my laptop.
She shakes her head, standing when she notices me packing my stuff. I'm done for the day. "No, I've cross-checked and you're clear."
"Thanks. I'll leave the office in your care then."
