The planetary elimination beam quickly crossed the over hundred-kilometre distance separating Spector Unit 6 and the Hepolisk communication jamming ship.
Everything, whether Phoenix, Hepolisk or random space rocks that the beam touched was immediately destroyed and reduced to nothingness. Even those that were outside the beam's path but still within a few kilometres of where it passed received serious damage or were entirely disabled because of the random arcs of lightning or the destructive energy waves that the beam was releasing.
Soon, the planetary elimination beam struck the Hepolisk communication ship and tore a hole right through its shields and hull before emerging from the other side.
The damage to the communication jamming ship started a chain reaction of explosions that started to take place all over the ship; however, Adam wasn't done, and after he saw that the beam had pierced all the way through the communication jamming ship, he started to rotate Spector Unit 6 slowly, causing the beam to move with him.
As the beam moved, it sliced through the communication jamming ship, along with destroying any other ships or mechs it came into contact with, because they were unable to get out of the way in time.
Soon, the beam had sliced through almost the entire width of the communication jamming ship, and if it wasn't for a small section that kept the top and bottom sections together, the ship would have been sliced cleanly in half.
With the colossal amount of damage that the communication jamming ship received from the planetary annihilation beam cutting through it, the chain of explosions intensified until they finally reached the ship's neutron reactor, which caused a cataclysmic explosion.
The explosion was so big that it encompassed everything within fifty kilometres, while shockwaves continued to spread outwards for several more kilometres.
It was so bright that it caused anyone looking at it to have to turn away or close their eyes, even if their viewscreens had light-dampening tech.
[Justiceistruth (Earth): Damn, those are some fireworks.]
[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): The neutron reactor must have exploded.]
[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): I can't believe he actually used a planetary annihilation beam.]
[Superhearofangirl (Earth): Is it me, or is the beam still turning?]
💫💫💫
"Admiral, Helpolisk communication jamming ship destroyed, long-range communications and access to the universal subspace network restored." The communications officer on the bridge of the Phoenix capital ship reported.
"I can see that, immediately send out a distress call across the universe and upload everything that is happening here to the universal subspace network." The Admiral ordered before looking back at the viewscreen showing the giant blue energy beam and asking, "How the hell did one lone mech manage that?"
"Admiral, the mech is not stopping its attack, and the energy beam is still rotating." The sensor officer informed.
"Analyse the direction the beam is moving, what units are on its projected course?"
"Analysing. Errr, sir."
"Well, spit it out."
"It's heading towards the enemy capital ship."
"What! Have our ships clear out. We have already lost too many because we didn't heed the pilot's warning."
💫💫💫
"Admiral, our communications jamming ship." A Hepolisk
"I can see that idiot." The Admiral retorted before ordering, "Speed up the assault. With those Phoenixes now able to call for support, reinforcements will be here within a few hours.
Have our drop ships force their way towards the planet and launch the drop pods."
"But, sir, there are still too many enemy units; they will pick the drop pods off."
"Not all of them, and right now we only have two options: deploy the drop pods now and gather as many Phoenix hearts as possible before we withdraw, or carry on as we have and be surrounded once the allies of those damn Phoenixes arrive. Now do as I command."
"Yes, sir."
"All this because of one fucking mech, our plan is ruined."
"Admiral, the energy beam that destroyed the communications jamming ship is not stopping and is turning in this direction." The sensor operator suddenly said in panic.
"What! Emergency thrust, get us clear."
💫💫💫
Even though the communications jamming ship was destroyed, Adam didn't stop Spector Unit 6 as it continued to rotate slowly towards the Hepolisk capital ship.
[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Is he aiming to take down the Hepolisk capital ship as well?]
[Animefangirl (Earth): Oh fuck yeah, a moving giant energy beam is so Anime.]
[OrangeeyedStace (Oceana 7): Yeah fuck those snakes up, babe.]
[Whostolemyduck (Earth): Do planetary annihilation beams normally move?]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): No, they don't, as they don't need to. A planetary annihilation beam's purpose is to bore into a planet and overload its core, making it self-destruct. I have never heard of one moving like this.]
[LadyErkath (Oceana 7): Well, admittedly, one has never been used in this way before.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): That's true.]
As the planetary annihilation beam swept across space, ships and mechs tried desperately to get clear and avoid being disabled or worse, destroyed.
Anything the beam touched continued to be reduced to nothingness as the Hepolisk capital ship tried desperately to get clear.
Unfortunately, because of its size being that of a small moon, the Hepolisk capital ship wasn't exactly the quickest when it came to acceleration.
Soon, the destructive energy waves and lightning that the beam was releasing started to impact the capital ship, causing it damage and making the ship's systems malfunction.
💫💫💫
"WHY AREN'T WE CLEAR?" The Hepolisk Admiral yelled angrily as holographic screens, consoles and lighting all flickered on and off around him.
"Engines are offline, sir. Our shields were, for some reason, unable to protect us against the energy waves that the beam is producing, and they are causing systems to fail ship-wide."
"We'll get them back. If you don't fix the engines, then the next thing that beam will hit is us."
💫💫💫
The planetary annihilation beam reached the Hepolisk capital ship and started to cut through it like a hot knife through butter.
Those paying attention could see shuttles, escape pods and other small ships fleeing the capital ship as the crew members tried to abandon ship.
Unfortunately, the lightning and destructive energy waves prevented their escape and even destroyed some of them, while those that escaped destruction still ended up being consumed by the energy beam.
Just like with the communication jamming ship before it, explosions started to erupt throughout the capital ship and the beam cut through it until finally it was sliced cleanly in half.
[[NDS Deactivating]]
As the NDS system deactivated, the planetary annihilation beam vanished while the blue energy that swirled around Spector Unit 6 turned orange again and solidified.
The NDS cannon broke apart into the original four shoulder cannons that reattached to Spector Unit 6's shoulders.
Within the cab, Adam regained control of his body as the cockpit's chair returned to its normal position and the controls moved back next to it.
Adam and the chat watched as the two halves of the Hepolisk capital ship floated away from each other with explosions still taking place on each until neither piece could withstand the strain any longer and exploded.
The explosion of one of the pieces that housed the engine room caused the neutron reactor to blow, and once again, a cataclysmic explosion that was accompanied by blinding light ensued.
💫💫💫
"Holy fuck, he actually destroyed both ships." An officer on board the Phoenix Capital ship's bridge said in shock.
"So it would seem." The Admiral said in amazement before ordering, "This is our chance, without their capital ship, those Hepolisk bastards will be temporarily disorganised until a new ship takes over command."
"Admiral, several Hepolisk drop ships carrying drop pods are making a run for the planet." The sensor operator reported.
"Shit, they must have issued the order just after the communication ship was destroyed. Have our ships near the planet intercept and contact the unknown mech and ask for assistance."
"Yes, sir."
💫💫💫
[OrangeeyedStace (Oceana 7): That's my man. Hahahah, see that Succuba bitch? You can never get a man as good as mine.]
[Beczontop (Imperial Down): Bitch.]
[Animefangirl (Earth): That was so Anime.]
[SciFifanboy (Earth): Ok, I admit, that was kinda Sci-Fi.]
[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): I'm still in shock that his mech actually produced a planetary annihilation beam and even managed to make it turn.]
[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Most impressive.]
[HackerSu (Trillion): I'm no expert on politics, but won't planets get worried when they learn of this?]
[LadyErkath (Oceana 7): It is definitely something that the Universal Senate will discuss when they learn of it.]
[OfficialLorelie (Oceana 7): That's worrying, will they try to take his mech away?]
[Gunlovergirl (Earth): They better not. I want to see more epic firepower like before, it gets me so wet.]
[Justiceistruth (Earth): Crazy weapon-loving girl.]
[Gunlovergirl (Earth): And proud of it, you're just jealous you don't have the streamers' firepower and will never get any of this.]
[Justiceistruth (Earth): …]
[[Incoming communication from the Orange Sunrise.]]
"Unknown mech, Hepolisk drop ships carrying drop pods are heading for the planet. We request your assistance in stopping them."
"Understood," Adam replied before turning and piloting Spector Unit 6 back towards Fenix Nest.
