Chapter 356 - Chapter 356: Malacoss' theory about the Black Knight

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): No, after all, the streamer is from a far less developed and advanced planet. Also, don't forget he found the ship he's currently travelling on and didn't create it himself.]

[Lizziethetruepower (Palalxia): Then whichever race the streamers ship originated from must have developed it.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): That's one theory. 🤔]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): What do you mean by one theory? What other theory could there be, Lord Malacoss?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): I do have another theory that just came to mind, but I'm afraid to speak it since it's so outlandish that it will make me look like a fool.]

[LadyErkath (Deverinian Prime): Just spit it out already, Malacoss. It's not going to make you look any worse than earlier when you admitted to being a traitor in the chat.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): I was simply placing my bet on the most likely competitor to win.]

[LadyErkath (Deverinian Prime): Whatever, now just tell us your theory.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Fine, my theory is that Spector Unit Six isn't a Black Knight replica that Diva Lorelie acquired for the streamer to use like some in this chat suggested, but that it's the real Black Knight that fought in the Siege of Fenix Nest two millennia ago.]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): …]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): How's that possible? The original Black Knight vanished after the Siege of Fenix Nest and never reappeared.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): That's highly unlikely, Malacoss. Unless, of course, you're claiming that after the Siege of Fenix nest the Black Knight somehow made it all the way to the streamers' homeworld.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Well, let's consider the facts. We know that the Black Knight vanished after the Siege of Fenix Nest, and we also know that mechs are incapable of long-term speacefight because of their limited oxygen supply and their lack of an FTL drive due to their small size.

This leads me to think that the Black Knight left Fenix Nest on a ship, though no ship was ever mentioned in the Black Knight's tale.

Both the streamers mech and the Black Knight share similarities.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Isn't that because the streamer is using a replica Black Knight? I mean, he only deployed six drones, the same as Prime. Everyone knows that during the Siege of Fenix Nest, the original Black Knight used ten.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): That doesn't really prove anything. After all, just because it used ten drones back then doesn't mean it has to use ten now. Also, some of them could have been destroyed like those two just now, with no way to replace them.

Also, you can't deny the similarities between the streamers' ship and the original Black Knight; both are highly advanced and far ahead of their time.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): If your theory is correct, then the ship the streamer currently owns was in fact on Fenx Nest two thousand years ago during the siege, and it somehow found its way to the streamer's home planet over those two thousand years.]

[OfficialMuriel (Aqua Primus): If what you're saying is correct, what happened to the original crew, and where did they originate from?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Something must have happened on the ship that caused either the crew's death or forced them to abandon ship. The ship then drifted through space to the streamers' homeworld, which we know is a long way outside the known universe, since it took him almost 3 years to travel from there to the Sandanar Galaxy.

As for where it originated from, I have no idea, all I can say is that it's not from any of the known races, so it's most likely outside the known universe.]

[Prestigious3horns (Vinox 2): If your theory is correct and the Black Knight has truly returned to the known universe, then it will cause uproar in many races, especially the Phoenix race, to whom the Black Knight is regarded as a hero.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): But is there any way to prove that the streamers mech IS the original Black Knight?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): I can think of one. Care to comment, Phoenix Empress Revi?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): What do you mean, Lady Raphilia?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): You have been teasing us all stream about something you know that we didn't, and you even mentioned that you can't wait until we figure it out. Is this what you were referring to? Is the streamer piloting the original Black Knight?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): I can't be 100% sure, but I do believe that it is the original Black Knight yet.]

[MercheadAnderson (Palaxia): Seriously? 😱]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): OMFG, this is crazy.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Fuck. Once the leaders of the different races learn that Adam is in possession of the original Black Knight, many of them might try to claim it from him for its advanced tech.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): That's possible, the original Black Knight possesses tech we still don't understand are incapable of duplicating to this day. The beam cancellation tech is just one of them.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): You mean the fact that it can somehow use a planetary annihilation beam?]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): That's correct. As mentioned before, we believe it and the beam cancellation tech are linked; however, that has only ever been a theory.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): What about the streamers' ship, Phoenix Empress? Do you know if it also came to Fenix Nest alone with the Black Knight during the siege?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): I did happen to encounter the ship the Black Knight came on back during the Siege of Phoenix Nest. Again, however, I can't confirm with 100% certainty that it is the same ship as back then, the ship crash-landed and was partially buried. However, it and the streamers' ship do bear similarities.]

[Superior4horns (Vinox 3): Oh wow.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Why has no mention of the ship the Black Knight was travelling on ever been mentioned before now?]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): There was no need to reveal its existence. It never partook in the battle of Fenix Nest and was never seen again after that.

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): You know that the existence of a ship with comparable tech to the Black Knight is of paramount importance, Phoenix Empress.]

[Phoenixempress (Fenix Nest): To whom? Militaries that want to use the tech to advance their own military might? Or maybe those who are greedy to hoard all the most advanced and powerful tech for themselves.

We have seen firsthand on this stream how the people react when more advanced tech appears before them; they try to claim it for themselves, and that is only the Noir family and the Bounty Hunters guild. What will happen when the leaders of each race set their sights on that ship?

The Black Knight and its pilot, along with the ship they arrived on, came to my homeworld and saved my race from extinction. The least I could do was hide its existence from the known universe.

Besides, there is still the possibility that I am mistaken and neither the replica Balck Knight the streamer is piloting, nor his ship are the ones that came to my homeworld.]

[LadyErkath (Deverinian Prime): She has a point, Malacoss. Empress Revi was and still is under no obligation to reveal information regarding the Black Knight and any ship it may have been travelling on.

Only to members of the Universal Senate who have summoned her before them using a Universal Senate Summons is Empress Revi duty-bound to answer questions, too, both as a member of a race that is part of the Universal Senate and as that race's leader.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Besides, it's possible that the only entity that knows for certain if that really is the original Black Knight is the AI of the streamer's ship.]

[LadyErkath (Deverinian Prime): You're suggesting we have the streamer ask his hips AI?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Couldn't hurt, though I do see one hole in your theory, Malacoss.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): And that would be?]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Why, when the sphere scanned Spector Unit 6, didn't it mention any other planets in the Known Universe other than those the streamer has apparently visited?]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): Remember that the Known Universe 2000 years ago was far smaller than it is now; perhaps the sphere didn't mention them because they are under a different name in Spector Unit 6's memory banks.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): Ok, then what about Earth? Earth is not part of the known universe, and also the Terran, Merinmian and Catonian planets, they were not part of the Known Universe back then.]

[DeverinianLordMalacoss (Deverinian 9): I believe it recognises Earth because the streamers registered planet of origin on the Universal Subspace Network is Earth. As for the other planets, it's possible that whatever happened to the crew happened before the ship reached Sector 17, and it therefore never visited any of those planets.]

[NonpareilRaphilia (Aaru): That's plausible. Since Sector 17 had yet to be discovered at that time, the ship could have floated through that region of space undetected on its long voyage to Earth.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): It's also possible that the crew programmed the ship to enter sub-space shortly after they abandoned it.]

After absorbing the energy bolts fired at him by Excess Surplus, Adam controlled Spector Unit Six to advance towards Excess Surplus while ordering, "Reactivate weapons."

[[Affirmative, holographic reproduction damage mode deactivated, all weapons online.]]

"Deploy the rest of the drones."

[[Affirmative.]]

The chat and viewers of the Sportscast feed watched as four more drones detached themselves from Spector Unit Six and began to fly alongside it, while the other four that had still been cutting into the giant undead aliens stopped what they were doing and joined up to fly alongside as well.

[Noobkiller9000 (Earth): 4 more drones? Does this mean that the streamers mech was indeed capable of deploying 10 drones like Lord Malacoss speculated?]

[Handsome3horns (Vinox 2): Seems like it.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Not necessarily. The streamer mech may have had 10 drones altogether in order to replicate the original Black Knight; however, because of programming limitations, it could only deploy up to a maximum of 6.]

[HackerSu (Trillion): Except for the fact that it's now controlling 8 drones.]

[Beinglittleisnotadisadvantage (Strathorp 7): Good point.]
