"Why have I never encountered a checkpoint like this before?" Adam asked curiously as the pair joined one of the queues.
"Planetary security varies from planet to planet, with the more important planets in a galaxy having better security," Rowena replied as she began to list the planets Adam had visited.
"Let's see, I believe the first planet you visited was Palaxia. That's a planet of very little significance to the Terran Empire, and it's also right on the edge of their space.
[MercheadAnderson (Palaxia): I hate to admit it, but it's true. ]

"After that, you visited Trillion with Stacey. Considering that the upper city was run by corrupt officials who were preventing the ruling council from learning of its true state and that gangs ran the lower city, it's no surprise that it didn't have any proper security checks."

"Next was Terrana Five, the capital of the Terran Empire, and if it were under normal circumstances, you would indeed have had to undergo inspection; however, because you snuck in, you bypassed any checks."

"Next were all the other planets in the Oasis Galaxy, but like with Oceana Seven, Lorelie's presence gave you automatic clearance, and the same is true for Felinia Seven. Because they had invited her to perform at the UMB Cup opening ceremony, I expect Matriarch Maiya gave orders that the ship she was travelling on didn't need to go through inspection.

"I guess that makes sense," Adam said with a sigh as Rowena finished her explanation before asking, "So what can I expect from this check?"
"It's nothing too complex. They will ask us to hand over any belongings we are carrying, including weapons, before asking if we have anything to declare. After that, you just walk through the scanner before collecting your stuff and moving towards the orbital elevator."
"Anything to declare? Like what?"
"The usual in these cases, if you're carrying any contraband, if the weapons you're carrying are illegal, if there is anything unsafe in your bags, that sort of thing," Rowena replied as Adam nodded in understanding.

As the pair talked amongst themselves, they were very aware of the attention their clothes were still drawing; however, both ignored it. Adam had learned during his bullying days it was best to ignore people who stared at you unless you wanted trouble to find you and Rowena was already used to everyone in the room staring at her, so she felt nothing from this and preferred to spend her time talking to the man whose arm she was holding.
After a few minutes, they reached the front of the queue where a male Solarian said, "Next," in a dull tone as if he was getting tired of his repetitive job and just wanted to go home.
Adam and Rowena stepped forward and reached the desk just as the Solarian asked automatically, "Anything to declare?" without looking up from some sort of handheld console that had several small holographic screens floating above it.
"Nothing," Adam replied as he removed his universal force staff from one pocket of his cargo pants and placed it in the tray on the desk, as he had seen other people do. Rowena, on the other hand, didn't place anything since she wasn't currently carrying any weapon or bag.
The Solarian glanced over at the tray automatically before looking away, only to pause and snap his head back to the tray before his eyes widened in shock as he recognised what he was looking at.
The Solarian finally looked up at the two people in front of him, where he saw a rather plain-looking Terran male and a beautiful Terran female arm-in-arm and couldn't help but think that this couple didn't match at all.
After getting over the shock of the item in the tray and the odd couple, the Solarian cleared his throat and, while pointing to the tray, asked in a much more polite and slightly nervous tone, "Sorry, sir, but would this happen to be a universal force staff?"
As the Solarian's words faded, the people nearby all swung their heads in their direction with interest, while listening in as some even started to crane their necks in hopes of getting a better look at the universal force staff.
"It is," Adam replied simply before asking, "Is there a problem?"
"No, no problem, sir. It's just that universal senator bodyguards normally travel through the VIP section with the senator they are accompanying," the Solarian explained.
"I told you to leave that on the ship, honey," Rowena said to Adam with a pout before turning to the Solarian with an apologetic look while adding, "I'm so sorry. I told my husband to leave that on the ship. We only just got married and we are here to spend our honeymoon on Solarian Prime. My husband is currently on vacation and not working in his capacity as a universal senator's bodyguard; that's why he didn't use the VIP lane."

Adam stared at Rowena in disbelief after hearing what she said, while the surrounding crowd, which was already paying attention, started to whisper and laugh at his response.

"That's not what you said when we were travelling here through subspace, darling, you couldn't get enough of me and you even begged me to use the force staff in the hole that my dick wasn't occupying," Adam replied, causing Rowena's eyes to widen in surprise before she blushed deeply and the surrounding crowd gasped and laughed even more.

"D… darling, please, you said you wouldn't tell anyone," Rowena said in a meek voice as she used the opportunity to cover her face from actual embarrassment.
The Solarian male stared at the pair with a loss for words until a serious voice suddenly asked, "Is there a problem here?"
As everyone turned to the voice, they saw a beautiful Solarian female with short green hair and wearing a security officer's uniform approaching.
"Assistant chief," the Solarian male said in surprise before continuing while pointing at the tray again, "I was just inspecting this pair when this gentleman placed this in the inspection tray."
The assistant chief leaned in closer to inspect the object in the tray before nodding and saying, "It's indeed a universal force staff, though not of a design I recognise."
"Is that a problem, Assistant Chief?"
"Not at all," the assistant chief replied while shaking their head before continuing. "Every universal force staff is slightly different; it's used as a way to identify them without having to scan them each time."
"After replying, the assistant chief turned to Adam and Rowena before asking, "Did I hear correctly that you're on your honeymoon and that is why you're not using the VIP lane?"
"That's correct," Adam replied.
"Very well, I apologise for the commotion we have caused," the assistant chief stated before turning to the security officer and ordering, "Carry on and make it quick; you are keeping other visitors waiting."
"Yes, yes, of course," the security officer said before addressing Adam and Rowena and saying, "Please step through the scanner."
The pair nodded before Rowena, who still had flushed cheeks, unhooked her arm from Adam's and walked through the scanner first. The people watching thought that she was attempting to get some distance from her husband since he embarrassed her; however, a few of the female viewers who knew Rowena well noticed that her ass had a bit more sway to it than it normally did.
