Chapter 26 - 26

"Shattered into pieces!"

Ivan cast a splitting spell accurately at the joint of the troll's arm. The troll, who was waving a wooden stick wildly, felt his arm go numb, and the weapon he was holding slipped out of his hand. With the added speed of its own strength, it flew straight past Ivan's side. The strong wind pressure forced Ivan to squint his eyes, and Hermione was so scared that her face turned pale and she almost screamed.

Bang!

With Ivan's precise calculation, the stick did not cause any harm to the two people. It just fell not far behind Ivan, making a loud noise...

Losing his weapon did not make the troll retreat at all. Instead, he became even more ferocious. After all, the two dwarfs in front of him were so close to him that they were so weak that he could be crushed to death with just his hands.

Five meters!

The troll approached, and a bloodthirsty look appeared on its bean-sized head. Hermione closed her eyes in despair, while Ivan calmly pushed Hermione away, stepped back, took out a bag from his wizard robe and threw it out.

At the same time, a beam of pure magic power arrived first and hit the bag. Under the light curtain created by the magic burst, dozens of shrunken iron thorns in the bag quickly expanded to the size of a palm and scattered on the floor.

The magic beam was exactly the little trick that Ivan had accidentally learned in the Transfiguration class. Since Ivan's Transfiguration spell had been raised to a level close to level three, the only thing that was lifted was the low-level Shrinking Charm.

This was originally a means of escape prepared by Ivan, and its function was only to restrict the movement of the giant monster, but now it has become a weapon of active attack.

With the precise landing point calculated by Ivan at full power, one of the iron thorns happened to fall under the troll's right foot which was about to land. When the troll stepped on it with its big foot, Ivan clearly saw that the troll's ugly face suddenly became distorted.

Taking advantage of the troll's unstable body, Ivan continued to retreat and cast another splitting spell, this time hitting the thigh used to support the body. With the skin and flesh torn, the troll's huge body like a mountain could no longer support it, and after one step, it completely lost its balance.

The giant monster's fat and huge body pressed down straight on him.

The landing point was exactly where the wooden stick had just fallen.

At this time, Ivan had retreated to a place several dozen centimeters behind the wooden stick, and waved his hand to release the final Transfiguration Spell. During the casting process, Ivan faintly heard the prompt sound of the Transfiguration Spell upgrading in his mind.

The troll's stupid little head couldn't understand why the nasty iron thorns appeared on the ground, just as it now couldn't understand why the wooden stick it dropped suddenly turned into a cone-shaped spike standing upright on the ground.

Fortunately, it no longer needed to think about it. The conical spikes pierced straight through its brain from its eyes. Scarlet blood mixed with white brain matter gushed out and slowly flowed down along the spikes.

At the moment of its death, the giant stared at the dwarf in strange clothes with its only remaining eye, with only endless confusion and a little fear in its eyes...

Ivan stood less than thirty centimeters away from the giant monster's corpse and put down his wand...

Hermione stared at the troll's corpse in a daze, unable to speak. The despair and fear on her face had not yet dissipated. In just a few seconds, the troll that had been coming with such great momentum fell in front of Ivan.

Ivan was breathing lightly. It seemed like only a few seconds of fighting, but he had already put in all his strength.

If it weren't for the effect of the powerful hypnotic potion that delayed the troll's pace at the beginning, and the Iron Thorn that had been transformed in advance providing a perfect assist, it would have been a fantasy to want to deal with the troll so easily.

[Ding, challenge mission: defeat or kill the giant monster (completed)

Task evaluation: Excellent

Mission Reward: Bloodline Fusion Potion Recipe (already issued)]

The task completion notification sounded as expected. Ivan was about to take a look at the reward issued by the system when he heard a series of loud and hurried footsteps suddenly coming from behind him.

"Oh my god, what is going on?"

Professor McGonagall, who was the first to rush into the corridor, saw a scene she had never imagined: a dilapidated corridor scattered with thorns and iron spikes, walls full of potholes, and a giant monster lying in front of Ivan with a big hole in its head.

And Ivan and Hermione, who she had been worried about, seemed to be in good condition? Apart from some dust on their clothes, they didn't look seriously injured.

Professor McGonagall almost thought she was hallucinating. Snape, who arrived shortly after, also couldn't believe his eyes.

Quirrell was even more surprised, and for a moment he even forgot his disguise. He strode to the troll's body and confirmed again that this was indeed the troll he had released.

"Ah, it looks like we have a new genius this year in addition to a savior of the wizarding world. He has already done something that even some of the professors who teach the class can't do right after the start of the school year."

Snape, who was the first to react, looked at Ivan expressionlessly, but no matter how he listened to these words, there was a strong sense of irony.

Quirrell had returned to his previous timid appearance, with his body hunched over and a worried look on his face. When he heard Snape's words, he just shook his body and didn't react at all, as if the "certain professor" Snape mentioned was not talking about him.

Professor McGonagall spoke angrily.

"Hal! Can you explain to me what's going on here?"

Although Hermione was present besides Ivan, both Professor McGonagall and everyone else present could tell that Ivan was the one in charge.

After all, the tears in Hermione's eyes hadn't dried yet, and residual fear could be seen on her face.

Ivan looked at Professor McGonagall's slightly shaking chest and her slightly red cheeks due to anger, and couldn't help but look at the prompt in front of him with a distracted look.

[Ding~ Mission Objective: Explore Professor McGonagall's secret

Current progress: 13/100]

It has risen again. It seems that my idea is correct.

"As you can see, professor, I just happened to encounter a troll when I was passing by this corridor." Ivan spread his hands and said innocently.

"Coincidence?" Professor McGonagall didn't believe it at all.

Snape looked at the iron thorns scattered on the ground and added.

"I think our Mr. Hals might want to be a hero. Otherwise, why would he make preparations in advance and appear here by chance?"

Because he didn't have time to do the finishing work, Ivan really didn't know how to explain it for a moment.

"Ivan is here to see Hermione, Professor! We can testify for him!" At this time, Harry and Ron came out from behind an armored knight in the corridor.

They had actually arrived a long time ago, but they arrived just when Ivan was showing his might. Apart from hiding aside and shouting "Fuck" and "666" in their hearts, the two of them had no room to do anything.

"Mr. Potter, Mr. Weasley, I thought you should be staying in your dormitory obediently now!" Professor McGonagall looked at the two of them with a bad face.
