Chapter 27 - 27

"Yes... Professor, theoretically we should be in the dormitory now," Harry swallowed hard under the gaze of Professor McGonagall.

"But in actual operation, there will always be different results."

Professor McGonagall's face suddenly darkened, and Harry, sensing something was wrong, quickly added, "What I mean is that Ron and I heard the news about the troll at the banquet, and then we remembered that Ivan and Hermione were still here, so we rushed over because we were worried."

Ron gritted his teeth and prepared to tell her about how he had said bad things behind Hermione's back, causing her to cry and hide in the girls' bathroom.

"Yes, they are here to see me!"

However, Hermione suddenly interrupted them and turned to McGonagall, "Professor McGonagall, I just came to find the troll, thinking I could deal with it. You know, I have read in books how to deal with this kind of creature..."

"I didn't expect the giant monster to be so powerful that it was beyond my imagination. If Ivan hadn't arrived in time, I would have died."

"As for Harry and Ron, they must have come secretly because they were worried about us..."

It was Hermione's first time telling a lie, and she seemed a little uncomfortable with it. Her pretty face turned red. Fortunately, she soon became more fluent in her words and successfully covered up the lie.

"How can you think like that? Silly girl, you are only a first year, how can you possibly deal with a troll?" Professor McGonagall reproached.

Her chest heaved slightly with anger, and her serious expression made Hermione lower her head constantly.

Ivan looked at the angry Professor McGonagall, and his attention unconsciously fell on her trembling breasts. Professor McGonagall's breasts were not big but very firm, and the faintly visible curves of her figure under the dark green robe made Ivan distracted.

"Ahem..." Ivan coughed twice after hearing this, reminding Professor McGonagall that there was a first-grade wizard who had successfully defeated a giant monster alone.

Ivan's straightforward behavior made Professor McGonagall feel a little embarrassed. Fortunately, Dumbledore, who was invited by Filch, arrived in time to ease the embarrassment.

The moment Dumbledore appeared, his eyes were focused on the iron thorns scattered around and the troll's corpse, especially on the conical spike that pierced the troll's head, where he stayed for a long time.

"What an excellent Transfiguration spell. Among all the young wizards of your age that I have seen, I'm afraid no one can use it better than you. If it were in class, I think Professor McGonagall would definitely give Gryffindor ten extra points for it," Dumbledore did not hide his admiration.

"Albus, what we should discuss now is the matter of these children coming to find the troll privately," McGonagall nodded. She was also a little surprised at Ivan's level of Transfiguration, but now was obviously not the time to discuss this.

"In that case, then let's do this..." Dumbledore pondered for a moment, then looked at everyone and said, "Miss Granger will be deducted ten points from Gryffindor House because of her recklessness. Although Potter and Weasley have violated school rules, their friendship is worthy of recognition, so they will not be punished for the time being."

Harry and Ron breathed a sigh of relief, but Hermione bit her lip lightly. The deduction of points was still a little hard for her to accept.

"As for Hals..." Dumbledore paused. Hermione and the others were worried again, but Dumbledore suddenly changed his tone and spoke in a relaxed manner, "I'm going to give Gryffindor twenty points for your behavior!"

Hermione finally let go of her worries and looked at Ivan with joy, which even diluted the impact of the deduction.

Ivan also curled his lips, because when Dumbledore said he would give him extra points, the system also gave him 20 academic points, which was equivalent to his several days of hard work in answering questions.

"Isn't this a bit too lenient?" Professor McGonagall frowned, thinking that Dumbledore's approach might encourage the adventurous spirit of Ivan and others.

"But not every young wizard can successfully defeat the troll shortly after entering school," Dumbledore shook his head and rejected it.

"By the way, professor, I don't need to compensate for this troll, right?" Ivan, who was in a good mood, asked casually.

"Of course not, but..." Dumbledore smiled at Ivan, "Can you come to the headmaster's office later? I'm very interested in your process of defeating the troll. Perhaps, after I finish dealing with things here, we can have a good chat."

Ivan's smiling face froze instantly; he opened his mouth but couldn't say anything... Could he say no?

Ivan felt depressed. If he had known this earlier, he shouldn't have said so much!

I am such a fool. I should have read Occlumency several times when I went to the restricted section... I am such a fool...

On the way to the principal's office, Ivan inexplicably started Xianglin Sao's repeat mode, regretting over and over again that he had not learned the brain-clogging technique in advance.

Of course, this can't be entirely blamed on him.

In order to complete the challenge task more smoothly, almost all the academic points I earned were spent on Potions and a few key spells, leaving no extra academic points for studying "Brain Occlumency".

As for learning Occlumency on your own without using a trial card?

Ivan thought it was better to give up. He still clearly remembered that the extremely talented savior Harry was unable to learn even under the guidance of a master of Occlumency like Snape. Ivan felt that learning on his own would probably be a nightmare.

However, this also reminded Ivan of a feature of the soul-reading technique in the original book, which is that the caster can only read the memories that the person being cast is currently recalling.

If you want more, you must use more powerful telepathy to force the person being cast to actively recall more.

This is also why in the original book, when Snape read Harry's memory, it caused Harry to replay these memories in his brain.

With these guesses, Ivan felt a little relieved. He just needed to think more about useless things during the conversation later. Dumbledore would not forcefully search his memory, right?

Ivan walked to the headmaster's office with trepidation. Guarding the office was a huge and ugly stone beast. When Ivan said the code given to him by Dumbledore, the stone beast slowly rotated upwards with a dull sound, and finally revealed the stairs hidden behind it.

Ivan walked up the stairs and found a spacious round room. The old walls, which were full of age, were covered with portraits of all the former headmasters of Hogwarts. Under each portrait was clearly marked the headmaster's name and the time he had been in charge of the school.

What interested Ivan most was the Pensieve on the long table on the side and Dumbledore's pet phoenix, Fawkes.

The Pensieve is what Ivan has always dreamed of. As long as he learns the art of telepathy, he can use the power of the Pensieve to sort out his memories.

Phoenix blood can be used as an important ingredient in blood fusion potions, and it is the top-grade kind.

If it weren't for the lack of tools, and the fact that Dumbledore could come back at any time, Ivan would have wondered whether he should take this opportunity to draw a tube of blood first...

If... he could beat Fawkes...
