Chapter 126: The Betrayer

Dressrosa, King's Plateau.

Ace put away the Den Den Mushi used to communicate with Sabo, a smile forming on his lips. After confirming that Sabo was safe, he could finally clean up the chaos of Dressrosa with peace of mind.

"I wonder if Kaido will go crazy after I took down one of the All-Stars of the Beasts Pirates?" Ace looked toward the Corrida Colosseum and grinned.

The relationship between the Beasts Pirates and Doflamingo was extremely close. In fact, Doflamingo's existence was vital for the Beasts Pirates' ambitions to dominate the New World. Now that Doflamingo had fallen at Ace's hands, Kaido would surely not remain silent. War was only a matter of time.

If Ace left Jack—one of the Beasts Pirates' three All-Stars—in Dressrosa, Kaido might even descend upon him immediately in fury.

"Next... who will come for me first? The World Government or one of the Four Emperors?" Ace stood up, rolled his neck, stretched his shoulders, then placed his hat on his head. He smirked, "I wonder how things will play out... What kind of chaos will stir across the New World? I can't wait to find out." With that, he leapt from the edge of the plateau, transforming into flames mid-air and flying toward the Colosseum.

In the Corrida Colosseum, the King's army led by King Riku and the freed gladiators—formerly toys—had allied with the Tontatta Tribe warriors. Together, they fought the criminal underworld forces.

Although King Riku's side held a numerical advantage, their elite combat strength lagged behind that of the underground villains. However, these villains were from various factions and lacked unity. Backstabbing attempts were frequent, as none wished to share the spoils.

Just as the chaos reached its peak, Ace descended from the sky and landed in their midst, halting the clash.

His arrival froze the battlefield. Everyone turned to stare at him, whispering amongst themselves.

"It's him! Fire Fist Ace!"

"Portgas D. Ace? Wasn't he fighting Doflamingo? Why is he here?"

"Don't tell me... he defeated the Heavenly Yaksha?"

"Impossible! Doflamingo was a Warlord of the Sea!"

King Riku exhaled deeply. Ace's presence could only mean one thing: the battle against Doflamingo had concluded. And since Ace stood here unscathed and Doflamingo was nowhere to be seen, the outcome was evident.

The underground criminals, however, were in denial. The notion that Doflamingo had been defeated was difficult to accept.

Ace paid them no mind. Activating Kenbunshoku Haki, he scanned the area. Finding no trace of his crewmates, he instantly released a burst of Haoshoku Haki.

BOOM!

Under the pressure of Ace's conqueror's spirit, most combatants on both sides dropped unconscious. Those still standing were drenched in sweat, paralyzed by fear.

Without sparing them a glance, Ace leapt down into the arena's underground.

Buru buru~~ buru buru~~

Suddenly, Den Den Mushi across the villains' ranks rang in unison. Each received the same report: Doflamingo had been defeated and killed by Portgas D. Ace. News of Ace's Pirate King bloodline had also gone public.

The silence was deafening. One by one, the criminals lifted their unconscious comrades and began fleeing Dressrosa.

The King's soldiers erupted in cheers as if victory was finally theirs. But King Riku looked solemn.

"Father, what's wrong?" Violet asked with concern.

"Nothing," Riku replied, though unease lingered. With how Fire Fist Ace has acted so far, I don't believe he'll bring harm to Dressrosa. I must be overthinking.

Still, as the soldiers began cleanup, King Riku approached the edge of the fractured colosseum and looked into the gaping underground.

"This war is far from over... What future awaits Dressrosa?"

Underground Trading Port, below Corrida Colosseum

The battle raged on. The Spade Pirates and the remaining Donquixote Family officers were locked in a chaotic melee. The sudden arrival of Momonosuke, Kin'emon, and the others had only intensified the confusion.

When they crash-landed, they collided with Law and Cacus, nearly sparking another brawl. But before tensions escalated, Jack—silent and ferocious—burst in. Spotting Kin'emon and his group, instantly recognizable in their Wano garb, he charged without hesitation.

The Samurai leapt to protect Momonosuke and engaged Jack head-on, leaving Law and Cacus bewildered.

Normally, Law might have helped fight Jack, especially since he wasn't aligned with the Beast Pirates. But in the middle of the chaos, with his own crewmates still battling Donquixote remnants, Law and Cacus had to prioritize regrouping.

In the underground battlefield, Jack was undoubtedly the most formidable combatant. However, his target was clear: Momonosuke and the Wano samurai. He didn't care about the rest.

Kin'emon, as one of the Nine Red Scabbards, was no weakling. Together with Raizo and Kanjuro, they might have stood a chance. But suddenly, betrayal struck.

Kanjuro Kurozumi, the traitor hiding among their ranks, revealed his true colors and launched a surprise attack—seriously injuring Kin'emon mid-fight.
