Chapter 186 – My Era Is Over
Boom!!
Whitebeard's massive fist crashed down, releasing a devastating quake that should have been enough to shatter an island. Yet, against the pitch-black abyss that spread across the bay, the destructive force only caused the darkness to tremble slightly.
"No… this darkness absorbs all forms of attack. It cannot be broken," Whitebeard muttered, his face grim. Then he turned sharply, his voice booming across the battlefield.
"Oars!!"
A deep roar answered him. From beyond the towering encirclement wall, a colossal figure appeared—one even larger than the giants.
Oars Jr.—a descendant of the ancient Continent-Puller Oars. His massive size allowed him to easily lift warships with his bare hands. A proud ally and one of the commanders under Whitebeard's flag.
"Everyone, get on the ships!" Whitebeard barked. "Oars will take you beyond the darkness!"
The darkness conjured by Blackbeard only covered the bay itself, sealed in by the encirclement wall. Beyond that lay the only safe zone.
"Quick! You heard Pops—everyone board the ships!"
The pirates obeyed instantly, scrambling back onto their vessels.
"Oars, pull them out of the bay!" Whitebeard ordered.
"Understood! Leave it to me, Pops!" Oars Jr. rumbled. Reaching his massive arm into the bay, he seized a ship loaded with pirates as though it were a toy, preparing to lift and carry it past the wall.
Hiss—!!
Just as Oars Jr. began to hoist the ship, tendril-like shadows erupted from the ground. Dark tentacles snaked upward, wrapping around his arm and the ship itself.
"I won't let you escape!!" Blackbeard's distorted voice thundered from within the abyss. With a monstrous pull, the tentacles dragged both Oars's arm and the ship back into the darkness.
"Damn it, that bastard Teach is still alive!!" Marco snarled, fury twisting his features.
Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!
More tentacles of darkness shot outward, lashing around the bay and ensnaring pirates who had yet to escape. One after another, they were dragged screaming into the shadows.
"Are the targets only pirates…?"
Above the darkness, the three Admirals—Akainu, Aokiji, and Kizaru—stood untouched, unaffected as if the abyss itself dared not claim them. Some Marines even allowed smirks to creep across their faces, watching pirates writhe in terror.

"You think you can bind me like this, Teach?!" Whitebeard roared, veins bulging as his titanic muscles flexed. "You underestimate me!!"
With a violent quake
The entire plaza trembled with Whitebeard's voice. Even among the tens of thousands of Marines, a silence fell, as if the very air had been stolen.
"Show me Teach!!" Whitebeard's roar boomed again, "The traitor who murdered my son!!"
On the execution platform, Sengoku's face turned to stone. He raised the Den Den Mushi to his lips.
"Edward Newgate! You will not dictate terms here. This is the Navy's execution ground. Sabo will be executed… and your era ends today!"

The Admirals stepped forward.
Akainu sneered, magma dripping from his clenched fists. "Justice will burn all of you pirates to ash."
Aokiji exhaled a frosty breath. "Such troublesome work… but we'll put you down."
Kizaru tilted his head lazily, golden light flickering around his body. "Ooh… what terrifying old men we've got here."
The tension became unbearable.

From the Spade Pirates' deck, the Mad Swordsman Gambi rested his great blade across his shoulders, grinning like a beast.
"Looks like the Marines are eager. Fine… I'll carve open the first path!"
His men roared behind him, Spade banners snapping in the salty wind.
On the Moby Dick, Marco's blue flames sparked as he spread his wings. "Steady, all divisions. Pops hasn't given the signal yet."
Whitebeard raised his bisento, and the sea itself seemed to bend with the motion. "Don't rush. The first strike… will be mine."

He thrust the weapon forward.
CRACK—!!!
The very air shattered. White lines spread like broken glass across the sky. The earth rumbled, the sea heaved, and Marineford itself shook as though the world was ending.
"Earthquake!!"
"It's the power of the Gura Gura no Mi!!"
Buildings in the plaza cracked, the sea at the bay rose into a towering tsunami on both flanks of Marineford.
The Marines screamed—"It's going to swallow us whole!!"
But one man calmly stepped forward.
"Leave it to me."
Aokiji leapt high into the air, arms spread.
"Ice Age!!"
The towering waves froze instantly, transformed into mountains of ice glittering under the sun.
The Marines roared in relief. "Admiral Aokiji!!"
But the pirates only laughed.

Marco smirked. "The ice just makes it easier to reach you!"
With a single beat of his wings, he soared upward, blue flames blazing, before diving toward the plaza.
"Let's go!!"
Whitebeard's commanders leapt into action, charging across the frozen sea toward Marineford's square. The Spade Pirates followed, Gambi at their head, sword howling through the air.
The war had begun.

In the distance, on the execution platform, Sabo lifted his head. His face was bruised, but his eyes burned with defiance.
"Old man… Ace… Luffy… I won't fall here."
Chains rattled as he struggled, his voice drowned by the thunder of battle.

Mihawk unsheathed Yoru, testing its weight. "It has been too long since I crossed blades with a monster."
Boa Hancock clenched her fists, her eyes fixed not on Whitebeard, but on the execution platform—and Sabo.
Doflamingo laughed, his strings twitching. "Fufufufu… chaos suits me just fine."
Moria grinned, tongue rolling across his teeth. "So many shadows… so much to harvest."
The battlefield, once silent, erupted into an all-out clash.
The War of Marineford had begun—not for Ace, but for Sabo.
