Seraphina tried to hold him back, tugging on his arm. "Please, Finn, just wait a moment. You can't just walk up to her like that."
"No! I just want to talk to her and get this over with. It's nothing serious. Calm down," he said, stepping forward with heavy, determined strides.
Now standing in front of the priest and mage circle, Finn scanned the women, trying to figure out which one possessed the staff Seraphina needed.
Naturally, the girls began whispering and gossiping about him.
One cloaked girl leaned over to a nun-like girl. "He's planning which girl he's going to strangle next."
"I heard that!"
They gasped, eyes wide. "Please don't hurt us!"
"I'm not going to hurt anyone, damn it!" Finn shouted, but they stared blankly at him, completely ignoring the chaotic battlefield behind them.
Sighing deeply, Finn began inspecting their staffs one by one. Every single one looked cool… but not a single one seemed high-level enough for Seraphina. Frustration bubbled inside him.
