Chapter 25 - Ch:25 The spirits

Firelord pov:

A messenger hawk arrived at the royal palace with the report about the invasion of the northern water tribe, led by Zhao.

"My lord a message from the north pole arrived with the military report" a solider said and brought a few papers to the firelord.

"Good, you can go. I wonder how long it took Zhao to conquer it" Ozai mused and began to read the letters and his mood started to worsen with every second.

"You call this a report? A water demon? Zhao dissapeared when he went to invade the water tribe? And it wasn't even the Avatar, just a random northern waterbender" he raged and the fire around him shot to the cieling.

"I will rot them out till the last man. That so called water demon will die a painful death" he said cruelly and called for his daughter.

It was time he put her to good use, his greatest weapon.

The only one that could beat her in talent was his nephew Akira but he dissapeared after leading the rebellion against his troops.

Till now Asokoh Island was a headache he had yet to deal with and now his naval forces took an even greater hit with the countless destroyed warships in the north.

"Aaaarrrrrrggghhh!!!" he screamed in rage and only stopped when he saw Azula enter.

"You called for me father?" Azula asked bowing to her father.

"Zhao failed in his conquest of the north. Iroh is a traitor and your brother Zuko is a failure. I have a task for you" he said and Azula just smirked.

Aang pov:

They were just walking towards the boat when dark tendrils shot out of the ground straight below Akira.

He was suprised and shocked. He was standing on solid ice and should have felt if there was a beast...

The tendrils wrapped around him and engulfed him in darkness, dragging him through a rift in reality that closed immediately after he was dragged through the rift.

"AKIRA!!!" Katara and Aang yelled and chased after him but he dissapeared completly leaving no trace.

"What happened, what were those dark smoke like tendrils?" Katara asked.

I don't know okay? He just dissapeared...mabye he is in danger!" Aang cried and let Katara comfort him by hugging him.

"Akira is very strong, I'm sure he can handle it" Katara said "at least I hope so".

Mc pov:

He looked around and was immediately alerted by the strange surroundings.

He stood in the middle of a rugged stony wasteland with nothing but a tree in front of him.

There were also two glowing orbs in the field that pulsed with incredible spiritual energy.

As soon as he looked at it he cursed internally 'fuck my life' he thought as he looked at the ancient tree of time.

It seems he somehow crossed over to the spirit world.

But the thing that freaked him out the most is that Vatuu, the spirit of chaos and darkness is right in front of him, trapped in the tree.

"It has been long since a human came here" Vatuu said slowly "almost millenia..."

"That was you right? The one who dragged me into the spirit world" Akira said.

"Yes, I have summoned you because I have an offer. Become my champion and vessel. I'll make you more powerful than even the avatar" Vatuu said.

"And if I refuse?" Akira asked growing frustrated.

"Then you will forever be trapped in the spirit world with no way to return" the dark spirit said "you will run from unknown dangers here and die a miserable death"

Akira clenched his fists. Vatuu was right, the spirit world was a very deadly place with no place for weak.

He tried to summon fire at his palm and was relieved that this worked.

Now he at least had a chance of survival.

"I refuse your offer, it seems like I need to find a way out by myself" Akira said and turned around with no idea where to go.

This journey would be hard...very hard.

"You dare refuse my generous offer mortal? Today you will die" Vatuu said and the sky darkened.

'Isn't this bastard sealed how is he still so powerful?' Akira thought and ran away.

As fast as he could.

He knew he didn't stand a chance against whatever Vatuu is up to.

All of a sudden dark spirits appeared all around him.

'Fuck' he just thought and channeled lightning through his hands and unleashed a storm of lightning on the spirits, killing the first ones of them instantly.

Vatuu just laughed "Impressive but how long can you keep this up?"

Akira gnashed his teeth. Vatuu was right, he needed to get out of here...fast.

He then blasted fire out of his feet and started flying as fast as he could.

Even when chased by a wave of dark spirits he couldn't help but admire the beauty of the spirit world.

There were beautiful forests, floating islands and lakes and rivers glistening under the bright colourful polar light of the sky.

"Woah" Akira just said but hurried up again as the dark spirits were still chasing him.

After an hour of flying he landed in a harmless looking forest.

To his amazement he felt no need to sleep and eat. In the spirit world he felt surrounded and charged with chi.

As he wandered the forest he found something that he thought only existed in the physical world.

Right in front of him was Wan Shi Tong's library.

"How convinient" Akira said to himself "mabye I find a way to go back to the physical world there"

He climbed to the entrance and entered the massive complex.

Foxes were occasionally walking around.

One of the foxes looked at him curiously.

"Hello there...could you tell Wan Shi Tong that I want to meet him?" Akira asked and the fox nodded and dissapeared.

Akira just waited where he was and looked at the artful architecture in awe.

Soon later a giant owl landed in front of him.

"Humans aren't welcome here, you should leave" Wan Shi Tong said.

"Look I know you don't like most humans because of that psychopath Zhao that came a while earlier but I come with peaceful intentions. I am trapped in the spirit world because I got kidnapped and I don't know how to leave back to my world" Akira said and took off his backpack and took out a few scrolls of firebending.

"I know it isn't much, but I hope this helps you restore the section of the fire nation that Zhao destroyed" Akira said.

"Hmmm...alright. You are allowed access to my library but don't make me regret it" Wan Shi Tong said and swept his wing over his hand making the scrolls dissapear.

"Ah one more question. How much time passes in the outside world compared to this? I just want to be mentally prepared if I go back and everyone I know is already old or died..." Akira said depressed.

"Don't worry, the time here flows faster than in the physical world. A day in the outside world is a year here. Feel free to stay as long as you want" Wan Shi Tong said and left.

Akira couldn't believe his luck. Not only had he plenty of time in this space to find out a way to return he also could learn all the ancient waterbending techniques and other things he is interested in. He could literally spend decades in here while outside just a few days passed.

This is sooooo awesome!!!
