System of Sin: Cultivator Reborn as Villain

Volume 1: Awakening Through Sin

Chapter 3 – Blood Baptism

The scent of blood still clung to Ravyn's robes. He sat cross-legged in his quarters, breathing slowly, letting the sensation of pain anchor him. The stone floor beneath him was cold, cracked, and damp—but it suited him. No comfort. No luxury. No distractions.

Only silence and purpose.

The room was dark. Not due to lack of light, but by choice. He didn't want to see the pathetic shell he currently inhabited—not yet. Not until it was reshaped.

Still, something inside him had changed.

I felt it… when I cut him. When I tore through flesh. It wasn't just revenge. It was clarity.

The Sin System hadn't spoken in hours. It didn't need to. He could feel it pulsing beneath his skin, stitched to his soul. It was no tool—it was a companion. One forged in hatred.

He opened his hand and summoned his interface.

Ravyn stared at the message. The System never justified its missions with moral balance. This wasn't karma. This was opportunity.

So… the first real kill comes with more than just points.

He accepted the quest without hesitation.

[Trial Accepted: Blood Baptism]

Objective Updated. Kill Shen Mu.

Standing, Ravyn wrapped his outer robe tightly. The cuts were old, the fabric faded, but the aura around him had shifted. No one dared approach him anymore. And those who did, didn't again.

The sect was quiet at night. Mist floated lazily between lanterns and tiled roofs. Ravyn moved like a ghost, silent, focused. His path took him to the southern edge of the sect grounds—toward the herb gardens, where Shen Mu often snuck away to "meditate."

But Ravyn knew better.

Shen Mu was a schemer. Someone who smiled too wide and bowed too easily. Lin Xian's memories painted him as helpful, but Ravyn saw the truth.

He was a snake. A weak one.

But even a snake's blood carried value.

He reached the edge of the garden and crouched behind a tree. The moonlight filtered through the canopy, casting jagged shadows across the mossy ground.

There.

Shen Mu sat alone, eyes closed, legs crossed. A scroll rested in his lap, and beside him—a small jade slip, faintly glowing.

A transmission stone.

So the rumors were true.

Ravyn stepped forward.

Shen Mu opened his eyes slowly, sensing the presence.

"Lin Xian?" he asked, clearly surprised. "You're out this late?"

Ravyn said nothing.

Shen Mu stood, smiling. "I heard about what happened with Feng Jiu. Impressive. You're finally growing a spine."

Still no answer.

Shen Mu took a step back. "Why are you looking at me like that?"

Ravyn reached into his robe and drew the dagger he had taken from Feng Jiu. It still bore dried blood.

"You've been talking to the outside," Ravyn said calmly.

Shen Mu's smile faltered. "I—I don't know what you're talking about."

"You're not important enough to lie convincingly."

And then he moved.

Bloodlash Strike activated.

The air crackled red as Ravyn's palm glowed. Shen Mu tried to draw his sword, but Ravyn slammed his hand against the boy's chest.

Red Qi exploded outward. Shen Mu flew back, colliding with a tree. Bark cracked. Ribs shattered.

He coughed violently, blood staining his lips.

"You… you're mad!"

"No," Ravyn replied. "I'm cleansing myself."

He walked toward the fallen boy, eyes cold.

Shen Mu crawled backward, eyes wild with fear. "I—I'll give you spirit stones! Pills! Anything!"

Ravyn crouched beside him.

"You think this is about profit?"

He stabbed the dagger into Shen Mu's thigh. The scream echoed across the trees.

"I'm doing this because I want to know what your fear tastes like."

Another stab—this time in the shoulder.

Shen Mu thrashed, sobbing, broken.

Ravyn leaned in close, his voice a whisper.

"Remember my name. It's the last thing you'll ever speak."

He dragged the blade across Shen Mu's throat.

Silence followed.

Blood pooled. The jade slip dimmed.

And the System responded.

[Target Eliminated.]

Ravyn stood over the body, breathing slowly.

The pain. The violence. The clarity.

It was all… pure.

A faint glow emanated from Shen Mu's chest—an echo of what once was. Ravyn reached out instinctively, and the energy flowed into him.

[Sin Absorption: Minor Trait Inherited – "Hidden Step"]

Brief silent movement technique. Usable once every 10 seconds.

He smiled.

Now it begins.

The next morning, Ravyn walked through the sect as if nothing had happened. The transmission stone had been shattered. Shen Mu's body was buried where no light touched. And no one would question Lin Xian, the quiet outcast.

But something had changed.

Disciples looked at him and felt… cold.

He passed them in silence, knowing that one day, they'd bow to the thing he was becoming.

A sin given shape. A god carved from filth and fury.

And he was just getting started.
