The problem was that, there was no known material in his previous solar system that can effectively interact with quantum level forces.
So, Silas and a team of 50 of the world's top minds had to spend 3 years just to create this material.
Finally, they managed to create a device capable of tapping into the quantum vacuum for the immense power bursts needed for displacement.
This involved dealing with zero-point energy, a fundamental energy of the universe capable of effecting the world at the quantum level.
But here is the fun part, among the 13 components needed for his time travel machine, this quantum displacement engine was the easiest.
This shows just how despairing it is to take the path of technology because you can't metal to your will. The most you can do is subtly manipulate it.
No matter how strong a being becomes, he will always be dependent on resources rather than himself. This was why Silas really didn't want to follow this path if he didn't want to.
Of course, Silas could also envision a future where he grew beyond the need of materials on this path. But the fact remained, he just didn't want to do it again.
Actually, just the concept behind time travel was a masterpiece in itself. It fundamentally combined all existing theories into a greater one that explains the universe and the spacetime.
This theory was the result of 110 years of hard work by him and most of the theoretical scientists on earth in that time period.
This was why Silas always said that he had all the resources on earth. He literally squeezed the hell out of earth for his benefit.
He named his theory the 'unified theory of the universe' to honor the scientists of earth whose theories led to the creation of this system of theories.
The most instrumental in this theory was of course the theory of relativity. In simple terms, general relativity describes gravity not as a force, but as a consequence of spacetime being curved by mass and energy.
The more massive an object, the more it warps the spacetime around it, and this curvature dictates how other objects move.
It underpins our understanding of cosmology, black holes, the expansion of the universe, gravitational lensing, and the orbits of planets and galaxies.
Based on the principles of this theory, Silas had once created wormholes to scour the entire galaxy.
The actual theory of time travel also came from this theory like the closed timeline curves. Of course, to actually implement this theory Silas had to first create materials with negative mass-energy density matter.
Other important highlights were quantum field theory from quantum mechanics. This theory deals with changes at the quantum scale.
This was the most integral part of the time machine since technically, Silas was just manipulating the quantum variables in a localized region to travel backwards.
The updated String theory, a profound explanation of the fundamental particles of the universe, also extends these theories. And was an integral part of the Unified theory.
Other than these theories, the theory that most helped humans create the Unified theory was M Theory, presented by one of his scientists.
The M Theory was essentially a nascent version of the Unified Theory, it tried to compile all substring theories to explain the universe.
These points highlight Silas's current understanding of the world. Everything he had learned of the universe was represented in the unified theory.
Even after traversing, most of Silas's mind was still on this theory trying to reorganize and theorize how he came to this world.
But he had no luck, no scientific theory explained this traversal but this made jack even more excited because he saw a new breakthrough point in his studies.
------
After organizing his thoughts, Silas began to think of the next pathway of advancement.
This pathway was the metahuman pathway. This was a name Silas coined based on the attributes of the pathway.
The metahuman pathway describes individuals who possess extraordinary abilities that are typically beyond normal human capabilities, arising from an alteration in their physiology or an interaction with an external catalyst.
These powers are generally inherent or intrinsic to the individual once activated, rather than learned.
The origins of these powers can be genetic triggers, accidental exposure, scientific experimentation and unique birth/heritage.
Genetic triggers can be latent "Meta-genes" activating spontaneously or due to stress, evolutionary leaps.
While accidental exposure involves contact with exotic energies, radiation, experimental chemicals, or unique environmental phenomena.
Scientific experimentation involves purposeful results of experiments aimed at unlocking human potential or creating super-beings.
Unique birth/heritage is for beings born with powers due to an unusual lineage or specific circumstances of birth.
This category is where most of the superhumans on terra fall.
It is also important to note that out of the ten percent superhuman population of tera, eight percent are actually genetically mutated humans.
As for why the powers didn't use their genetic research to turn everybody into a superhuman, Silas didn't know.
If he went by his previous theory, that all powers were created to increase the personal strength of one or a group of superhumans.
It would make perfect sense to turn at least forty percent of the population into superhumans to use as soldiers but no such thing was happening.
This could only mean one thing, Silas was missing a key piece of information.
The metahuman path was extremely diverse and had almost infinite potential. But the problem was that it wasn't infinite potential. Of course, if Silas couldn't find a better option, he would definitely choose this path.
He was confident of recreating 'accidents' or creating 'Meta-genes' to become a superhuman.
Everybody wants to be them since most superhumans are basically set for life. The empire they are from as well as the corporations offer a multitude of contracts to superhumans.
Only about a single percentage of the entire superhumans have abilities that serve no purpose, the government and the corporations milk the sh*t out of the rest of superhumans.
