As Ash helped Pidgeotto disentangle the silk threads, he began to introduce his companions.

"Pidgeotto, these are my friends. This is Pikachu, this is Metapod—who was Caterpie just now and fought you—and over there is Magikarp, and this is Misty."

As Ash introduced them, Magikarp even performed a special Splash, leaping out of the water for Pidgeotto to see. Pidgeotto's gaze ultimately landed on Metapod.

It was clear that even though it had evolved, Pidgeotto still recognized Metapod as the one who had defeated it. However, Metapod held no animosity, maintaining the gentle nature it had as Caterpie, merely squinting its eyes as if smiling.

"Pidgeotto, from now on, we're all friends! Let's get along well and become stronger together!" Ash continued working on the silk threads, noticing Pidgeotto's gaze, and spoke at an opportune moment.

BEEP~~~

Pidgeotto responded with a cry, retracting its gaze. It also understood that Caterpie had been able to defeat it because of the trainer before them.

So, when Ash suggested they become stronger together, its heart recognized this trainer and these companions.

Misty also came over to help, and they quickly removed the silk threads from Pidgeotto. The main difficulty was how much they were stuck to its feathers.

Soon, Pidgeotto had fully regained its former vigor. Ash gave it an Oran Berry and used a healing spray to treat its minor external injuries.

Actually, the injuries weren't serious. Catching Pokémon in reality was a bit different from in games; at least you couldn't see health bars. Stopping the opponent's movements through battle or inflicting status conditions made it easier to catch them. This seemed to be true in reality too. However, in the game, a move like String Shot only lowered speed.

But in reality, String Shot could also restrain. So, even though Pidgeotto hadn't sustained much damage, at most a single Tackle, its body was entangled by String Shot, preventing it from moving. When it entered the Poké Ball, it naturally didn't have much strength to struggle. However, in the game, the speed reduction caused by String Shot wasn't considered a status condition.

It hadn't been seriously hurt and recovered quickly. Ash tidied up the campsite and then took out his Poké Balls, recalling Pidgeotto, Magikarp, and Metapod.

After Caterpie evolved, its body became larger and heavier, making it inconvenient to carry outside its Poké Ball anymore.

"Alright, let's go!" It had been a good day, starting with catching Pidgeotto. With such a joyful mood, they continued their journey.

With Ash's guidance, Misty had become less afraid of Bug-type Pokémon, at least much better than before. This allowed the two of them to move much faster.

They walked through the forest for several hours, unconsciously. It was nearing lunchtime. Just as they were thinking of stopping to rest,

"Hmm? Ash, look over there."

As they were looking for a place to rest, Misty suddenly spotted an open area behind some trees. Looking closely, there was also a small wooden hut built in the clearing.

"Why is there a house here?" Misty asked again, confused, before Ash could speak.

"It's probably built by a trainer or someone who's training here!" Ash replied.

Misty nodded slightly. In the past, she would have wondered what kind of person would want to stay in a place full of bugs.

"Let's rest here for a bit then!"

Although they couldn't just enter someone else's house, the nearby clearing was a perfect spot to rest.

"Okay! I wonder if anyone's inside," Misty nodded and asked, walking alongside Ash.

"Anyone home??" Misty called out when they reached the hut, but there was no response.

"Are they out?"

"Hmm??" As Misty wondered if anyone was there, Ash paused slightly, turning his head with a frown.

"What's wrong?" Misty saw Ash's reaction and looked at him confusedly.

"Help!!!"

Just as she asked, they suddenly heard a panicked cry for help from the woods. Misty followed his gaze and saw a figure darting quickly through the trees, with several flying objects chasing behind him.

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

They could hear a piercing buzz from afar that went straight to their brains. Then, a figure was flung out of the woods. A boy dressed in samurai armor came running out in a panic, with the figures behind him still in pursuit.

They resembled giant hornets, but were dozens of times larger than regular hornets. They had only four legs, with two huge silver conical stingers on their forelegs.

Their bodies were segmented into three parts, with a rounded head and a pointed, hooked mouth. They had large red eyes and a pair of antennae on their heads. The section from the neck to the waist was the narrowest, while the tail was the largest, with two black rings and a yellow stinger at the very end. On their backs were two pairs of net-like wings.

"Ah! Beedrill!" Misty was startled by the Pokémon that appeared with the strangely dressed boy. It was another Bug-type Pokémon she was afraid of.

"Pikachu, use Thunderbolt!"

Ash immediately commanded. Pikachu instantly charged out, leaping high into the air. Electricity crackled on its cheeks and spread throughout its body, then it unleashed a powerful current that swept out like a golden whip.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The current swept through the Beedrill in the air. Several Beedrill that were hit instantly lost their momentum and let out painful whimpers. As the electricity intensified, their bodies exploded.

Smoke filled the air, and the Beedrill in the sky flew away frantically with their heads down, some parts of their bodies charred by the electricity.

Fortunately, there weren't many of these Beedrill, otherwise, dealing with them wouldn't have been so easy.

"Phew... I'm saved!" At this moment, the boy in samurai armor finally let out a sigh of relief.

"Are you okay??" Misty couldn't help but ask, seeing this. However, when the samurai boy, who was leaning on his knees and catching his breath, heard Misty's words, he suddenly looked up, a glint flashing in his eyes, and reached for his waist.
