Chapter 490 - 490: Majin Buu (2/2)

"Hahaha! Vegeta, you should've seen your face just now!"

High in the sky, Goku was laughing so hard that tears rolled down his cheeks. Clutching his stomach, he nearly doubled over in midair.

Vegeta, flying beside him with the massive egg that contained Majin Buu cradled in his arms, gritted his teeth. The veins on his forehead pulsed visibly.

Ever since he had been freed from petrification, Goku hadn't stopped laughing at him. Vegeta had wanted nothing more than to punch him through a mountain, but Jiren's sharp scolding earlier had forced him to restrain himself.

He had already admitted that his arrogance had led to his downfall—falling for Dabura's filthy trick and nearly ending up shattered into rubble. So even though Goku's teasing was insufferable, Vegeta forced himself to endure it, taking it as a harsh reminder not to let pride cloud his judgment again.

Piccolo had already returned, while Jiren flew ahead, calm and stoic as ever. Before long, the three reached Uchiha Chiga's residence.

Lazuli and the two Angels had gone out shopping, so only Chiga was home.

Seeing him, Jiren immediately bowed deeply, his demeanor showing absolute respect.

Vegeta followed suit, though not as gracefully. Only Goku, ever casual, waved cheerfully.

"Yo! Chiga! Long time no see!"

Jiren turned sharply, frowning. "Goku, that's too informal. You should address him as Dragon God!"

Startled by Jiren's tone, Goku hunched his shoulders and glanced nervously at Chiga for help.

Chiga chuckled softly and waved a hand. "It's fine, Jiren. Let him be. You know how Goku is."

The enormous egg containing Majin Buu was far too big to fit through the door, so Vegeta had left it outside. Of course, such a problem meant nothing to Chiga. With a simple wave of his hand, the giant egg vanished from the yard and reappeared inside the hall.

Goku crouched beside it, curiosity lighting up his eyes. He poked the shell with his finger and asked,

"What's this thing? Looks kinda weird."

Chiga's gaze shifted to the energy meter at the egg's base, which showed less than two marks of progress. He replied calmly,

"There's a pink creature sealed inside. His name is Majin Buu."

Placing his palm against the egg, Chiga released the faintest trace of energy.

Even that tiny amount—barely a fraction of his power—was enough to make the entire egg tremble violently. A surge of yellow Ki burst forth, flooding the room in an instant.

Chiga clenched his hand, and the wild Ki condensed into a single glowing sphere. It hovered before him, shimmering like sunlight. Gradually, the sphere sprouted limbs and, with a soft pop, transformed into a miniature pink creature—Majin Buu himself, reduced to a doll-like size.

The tiny Buu bounced excitedly in place, but when he saw the four towering figures surrounding him, his enthusiasm froze. He glanced around, clearly intimidated by the massive furniture and the unfamiliar space.

Goku bent down, tugging gently at the small tail atop Buu's head.

"So this is Buu, huh? He's actually kinda cute!"

Buu scowled, shaking Goku's hand away as steam hissed from his head vents.

"You're so rude! I'll turn you into a cookie!"

A purple light gathered at the tip of his antenna, firing straight toward Goku.

Chiga's eyes narrowed slightly. A golden barrier shimmered into existence in front of Goku, effortlessly blocking the beam.

Buu froze. He stared at Chiga, a flicker of unease flashing through his eyes.

"Who… who are you?"

A strange fear welled up inside him. Even his instincts screamed danger.

Chiga didn't answer. Instead, he snapped his fingers. Before Buu could react, his body began to expand, returning to its original full size.

Buu's eyes widened. That transformation alone told him everything—this man's power was beyond comprehension.

Though he looked foolish, Buu wasn't as dumb as he appeared. Those who had underestimated him before had long since become snacks inside his stomach.

Chiga stepped forward, his movements calm and deliberate. He pressed his hand against Buu's stomach.

Surprisingly, Buu didn't resist. He allowed Chiga's hand to press and knead against his abdomen, seemingly unaffected.

Chiga wasn't doing it for amusement. He was following an instinct—an inexplicable sense of familiarity emanating from Buu's flesh.

He remembered the words of the Grand Minister: The Dragon God Zalama was never completely erased. A portion of his essence remained.

Now, it was clear to him. That remnant must have been discovered by Bibidi and used to create Majin Buu.

As Chiga pondered, the flesh on Buu's body began to move on its own. Pink tendrils extended, wrapping around Chiga's arm.

Buu looked down in confusion. "Huh? I'm not doing that!"

Chiga didn't resist. He could sense that the tendrils carried no hostility—only emotion. Through their contact, he felt what they wanted to convey.

They wanted to go home.

Chiga withdrew his arm gently and rested his palm on Buu's forehead.

Then, using an ability he hadn't employed in a long time—the Human Path—he drew out a dark, swirling mass of energy from within Buu's body.

The black essence condensed, taking the form of a smaller, thinner Buu—the original, evil Majin Buu.

Jiren and the others could only watch in silent awe. Techniques like this were beyond their comprehension.

As the dark soul left, Fat Buu's expression softened, his aura changing completely. The malevolent energy that had once driven him was gone, replaced by a serene kindness reminiscent of the Supreme Kai he had once absorbed.

Chiga's arm trembled faintly, and the dark spirit disintegrated, dissolving into thin black smoke before fading away.

Fat Buu blinked, dazed. Chiga met his eyes, unleashing a wave of powerful mental energy that surged into Buu's consciousness.

The creature groaned in pain, clutching his head, then slowly calmed.

When he looked up again, confusion had been replaced by realization.

"I… I am the Supreme Kai?" he murmured.

Chiga nodded slightly.

"It seems your memories have returned. In that case, I'll be reclaiming the material that created Majin Buu."

He pressed his palm once more against Buu's stomach. Without resistance, waves of pink energy surged from Buu's body and flowed into Chiga's arm, merging seamlessly into him.

Before long, the transformation was complete. Majin Buu's body had vanished, leaving behind a gentle-looking man—the true Supreme Kai.

The Kai swallowed nervously, then bowed slightly.

"Who… who are you, sir?"

A faint purple gleam shone in Chiga's eyes as he answered softly,

"You may call me… Dragon God."
