"Dragon… Dragon God? Isn't he already…?"
The Supreme Kai's eyes trembled with disbelief. As a being ranked far above ordinary Kaioshin, his strength during his prime had been immense. Had he not exhausted most of his divine power sealing Majin Buu, he would never have fallen so low. Once, he didn't even give face to the God of Destruction—unlike the timid East Kaioshin, who acted like a servant before Beerus.
But now, confusion clouded his mind. In his memory, the Dragon God had long been erased by Grand Zeno himself.
Just then, Vados and the others who had gone shopping returned. Though Vados and Marcarita weren't wearing their Angel uniforms, the Supreme Kai recognized Vados at once. After all, the Sixth and Seventh Universes had frequent exchanges between Beerus and Champa, and he had met Champa's Angel before.
Respecting the Angelic race deeply, he bowed immediately.
Vados tilted her head, her pale blue hair swaying softly as she tried to recall his face. Then her eyes lit with realization.
"Ah! You're the former Supreme Kai of Universe Seven, aren't you? I heard you disappeared ages ago!"
The Kai blinked in confusion, catching onto her phrasing.
"Former Universe Seven? What do you mean by that? Has the Seventh Universe ceased to exist?"
"Of course it exists," Vados replied with a smile. "But now it's called the Dragon God Universe. The former Sixth and Eleventh Universes have been unified under the Dragon God's domain—something agreed upon by Grand Zeno and the Dragon God himself."
"Nani!?" The news hit the Supreme Kai like a thunderclap.
At that moment, Chiga waved his hand casually. "Alright, you get the picture now. I didn't bring you back to stand around looking dazed. From now on, do your duty properly."
Creation was the Kaioshin's responsibility. During the Kai's absence, the number of planets in the Seventh Universe had dropped drastically—partly because Chiga himself had destroyed several in the past. The East Kaioshin had proven useless, so the Supreme Kai's return to duty was overdue. Chiga had no patience for menial divine work.
After explaining the situation briefly, the Supreme Kai still looked dazed. The information was simply too much to digest.
"That's about all you need to know," Chiga added. "If there's something you don't understand, ask Whis. You still remember how to use Instant Transmission, right?"
The Kai nodded stiffly, swallowing hard. "Then, Dragon God, may I take my leave?"
"You can. But if you'd like to stay for a meal, I won't stop you."
"N-No! I wouldn't dare trouble the Dragon God!" He bowed deeply in gratitude before vanishing in a shimmer of divine light.
Chiga smiled faintly and patted the air where he had stood. "Work hard. I have high hopes for you."
It cost him nothing to offer a bit of encouragement, after all.
Once the Kai departed, Jiren and the others also excused themselves. Chiga stretched, feeling a familiar sense of completion. Matters in the Dragon Ball Universe were finally settled. It was time to return to his roots—the Pirate and Shinobi worlds.
He intended to gather his people and establish the Dragon God Realm, a paradise for his family. Traversing dimensions was no challenge for him now. After giving Vados and Marcarita a few instructions, he opened a swirling portal and stepped through to the Pirate World.
He didn't bring the Angels along—power on that level could easily distort the world's balance.
When Chiga arrived at his palace in Marineford, the first to notice was Nerona, a notorious homebody. Seeing him, she froze for a split second before breaking into a delighted cry. With a shimmer of her Devil Fruit power, she glided barefoot across the floor and leapt into his arms.
Chiga chuckled, gently tapping her nose. "You've gotten good at controlling your Devil Fruit ability."
Nerona pouted adorably. "Don't change the subject! You've been gone forever. Which little vixen were you visiting this time?"
"Oh? You've become a jealous wife now? And aren't you worried Kalifa might hear you using that word?"
"Kalifa wouldn't care! She's the best person ever!"
"Fine, fine—Kalifa's the best, and I'm the worst. Happy?"
"Hehe, as long as you know!" she teased, flashing him a triumphant grin.
Chiga smiled mischievously. "You really haven't changed at all."
Nerona blinked, pretending to look offended, but couldn't hide her blush. He stepped closer, his hand brushing her cheek. The tension between them deepened—the kind that needed no words.
Outside, the sun shone bright over Marineford… until Chiga snapped his fingers.
Instantly, the sky darkened. The sun dipped below the horizon as the moon rose high, casting its silver glow across the sea. All across the world, Marines and pirates alike stared upward in bewilderment.
Nerona blinked hard. "Wait… it was just noon! How—how did it—?"
Chiga smiled faintly. "It's night now, Nerona. Any more complaints?"
Her eyes sparkled with realization and something softer. "You always do the impossible," she whispered.
Laughter and faint words filled the hall as the night outside deepened, the scene fading into soft candlelight.
Elsewhere, at Marine Headquarters, Kalifa set down her pen. "Strange… it's dark already? I swear I just skipped lunch." She looked up at the clock—11 p.m. "Guess time flew again. I should head back—Nerona and the others must be asleep by now."
The quiet hum of the Marineford night returned, leaving behind only the gentle echo of the Dragon God's return.
