Supreme... Supreme Kai!
Grand Kai had originally thought that Raditz wanted to meet some planetary Kai - maybe he had a crush on some graceful goddess and Grand Kai could set them up. But he never expected Raditz to casually mention a Kai even higher than himself!
"You... how do you know about the Supreme Kai?" Grand Kai lowered his voice.
"I've heard some legends, and I want to visit the Supreme Kai. You'll grant my little wish, right? Don't tell me you don't know how to contact him."
Raditz had been thinking about this for a long time. The Kais didn't know about the Supreme Kai's existence, but they knew about the God of Destruction, which showed the divine hierarchy was very chaotic. The only possibility was that there was no direct connection between the Supreme Kai and the regular Kais, but there must be a manager in the middle - and that manager was undoubtedly Grand Kai.
Grand Kai had to know how to contact the Supreme Kai.
"This... I can't tell you..." Grand Kai stammered, thinking to himself: what kind of "little wish" is this? It's so big it's going to the heavens!
"Grand Kai, it doesn't matter what you say - your reputation in the universe will be questionable in the future," Raditz played dirty. "Besides, if you don't contact him, I'll just stay by your side forever!"
"You... you can't use these kinds of methods... fine, fine." Grand Kai finally gave in.
Isn't it just making contact? If the Supreme Kai doesn't want to see you, then it has nothing to do with me, Grand Kai thought, agreeing for now.
Then Grand Kai presented the champion's medal to Raditz, praised Northern Galaxy, and finally announced the closing of the Galaxy Martial Arts Tournament.
People who had been celebrating all day experienced the master-level battles of the four galaxies with terror and excitement. Everyone who watched said it was worthwhile. Though the people from the four galaxies had different moods, they were all relieved when the final results came out.
Everyone except Raditz returned to their respective planets.
It was announced publicly that Grand Kai still had rewards to personally give Raditz, but the two of them were transferred directly to Grand Kai's planet. Even the Kais weren't qualified to observe, because what came next would involve the arrival of the most noble god in Grand Kai's eyes.
Grand Kai fiddled with a bunch of messy, dusty devices, saying these things could send signals to communicate with the lower realms and the Sacred World of the Kai.
Seeing Grand Kai trembling, Raditz was amused. Wasn't the Supreme Kai just a nominal clergyman who was useless in daily life? There was nothing to be afraid of. In Z, he acted very imposing, but when it came time to fight, he lost all his momentum.
But to Grand Kai, the Supreme Kai was extremely noble, and he couldn't wait to contact him after burning incense and washing his hands.
"Hurry up." Seeing him using various devices to send signals, Raditz couldn't help but urge him.
"Don't rush me, I'm making contact. I'm spending a lot of effort this time to fulfill my promise. If Lord Supreme Kai refuses you, then don't blame me."
Putting aside responsibility beforehand - Grand Kai was cunning, Raditz thought silently.
"Um..."
"Shh! Don't make noise." Grand Kai frowned and interrupted Raditz. "If the Supreme Kai agrees to see you, he'll naturally send his attendant over."
"Divine attendant?" Raditz suddenly remembered a square, elongated face. Divine attendant Kibito - wasn't that the big fraud who talked so tough but got instantly killed by Dabura?
Kibito's teleportation technique was what Raditz really wanted to learn, and one of the reasons he wanted to meet the Supreme Kai.
"He's coming!" Suddenly, the block-shaped object in Grand Kai's hands trembled, and he exclaimed, "He's coming! Kibito is here!"
Before he finished speaking, a gleam of light flickered and a tall, strong figure appeared, covered in the robes of the Supreme Kai's realm, with a cold expression on his face.
He surveyed everything coolly and looked at Raditz with indifferent eyes. "Master Supreme Kai already knows. Is this the mortal?"
"Yes." Grand Kai replied respectfully.
"Come with me. You should be honored that the Supreme Kai agrees to see you."
Honored? I really don't know where that sense of superiority comes from, Raditz thought.
Raditz returned a disdainful look, colliding with Kibito's cold eyes. Kibito couldn't figure out why the Supreme Kai would agree to meet a mortal, but he still had to do his job, so he walked toward Raditz.
The two made reluctant contact, and before Raditz could wave goodbye to Grand Kai, Kibito teleported away directly, leaving only a faint "Grand Kai, farewell" hanging in the air.
With Kibito's instant movement, the two successfully crossed the boundary of space and set foot in a new world in the blink of an eye.
Finally here! The sanctuary where the highest god of the seventh universe resided - the Sacred World of the Kai.
There was no sun, moon, or stars in the dome of sky, only the outlines of many blurred planets hanging high and moving slowly. Every planet in the universe could be observed from here, with a vast and boundless field of vision.
The vast land was full of green - the grass was lush and verdant, distant mountains stretched continuously, overlapping and spreading out to create peaceful, beautiful scenery. Sacred light shone gently on the vast land, and wind that carried life blew from one end of the void to the other.
The air was fresh and the temperature comfortable and pleasant. Being in the Sacred World of the Kai felt like bathing in spring breezes and warm sunshine, making Raditz feel relaxed.
This was the apex of the entire universe, a sacred place that couldn't be entered by planetary gods, lords of hell, Kais, or even Grand Kai. Only the Supreme Kai and his attendants were eligible to live here.
The Supreme Kai controlled everything in this world.
Standing at the highest point in the universe, the Supreme Kai was responsible for creating all things in the universe and managing life together with the God of Destruction. One was a guardian, one a judge - they weeded out and selected better civilizations in the alternation of creation and destruction, bringing the entire universe's level to higher heights.
A universe's level was comprehensively considered from aspects like technology, planetary environment, and the quantity and quality of life. Among these, the Supreme Kai paid more attention to life's virtue and development, while for the God of Destruction, combat ability was paramount.
At the same time, the gods also held an inherent belief that it was impossible for mortals to surpass gods.
As the highest level of gods in the universe, the Supreme Kai's power shouldn't be underestimated. Though far inferior to Majin Buu and even afraid of Dabura, every Supreme Kai had the ability to easily crush Frieza on Namek.
They were noble and proud, rooted in great strength and divine authority.
"Wow... so the Sacred World of the Kai is like this. The place where gods live really is something else." Raditz took a deep breath, looked around with wide eyes, and felt his spirits lift.
"Of course, the places where mortals live can't compare to the world of the Supreme Kai. Here..." Kibito began boasting in a long-winded manner, superiority dripping from his tone.
Raditz couldn't stand it anymore. "Okay, I get it. Take me to see the Supreme Kai, will you?"
"Mortals should have a reverent heart when setting foot on holy ground!"
"Okay—" Raditz agreed with his lips, though he really wanted to punch that face. What bullshit - wasn't this the same guy who got confused by Majin Buu and had to rely on mortal power in the end?
Seeing that Raditz's attitude was appropriately respectful, Kibito nodded, his expression still cold. "Come with me." He took flight and flew toward a massive ancient tree.
Under the old tree, Supreme Kai Shin stood upright, clearly waiting for Raditz's arrival.
