Raditz glanced at the surrounding sofas and carpets, then at Android 18 in front of him, feeling somewhat at a loss. It had only been two days since the androids had come to his house, and it seemed they were still living here, which was quite strange.
At that moment, the door opened and Zangya leaned out, shouting in surprise, "Raditz, you're here! Come help me!" She had obviously sensed Raditz's ki and quickly waved him over.
Android 18 pursed her lips with a cold and proud expression.
Whose house is this? Raditz complained internally, but it seemed this was Zangya's arrangement. He frowned and followed Zangya into the room, wanting to see what was happening.
As soon as he entered, Raditz froze.
The three of them were actually playing Ludo! Android 17 wasn't surprised when he saw Raditz but greeted him calmly, while Android 16 remained characteristically quiet and composed.
"Raditz, help me! I've been sent back two pieces, and I still have two that haven't come out yet." Zangya grabbed Raditz's arm and shook it playfully. "I followed what you said—hold the dice with thumb and middle finger and shake it twice—but no matter how hard I try, I can't roll a six."
She had seen Raditz easily roll sixes every time, but when it was her turn, it was so difficult she had almost crushed the dice several times.
Raditz smiled wryly. "You could just say all four pieces are stuck at home. Besides, with your current strength approaching Super Saiyan level, the 'gentle strength' I mentioned was for ordinary people."
Ludo had been taught by Raditz to help them pass their free time. He hadn't expected Zangya to actually play this game with the androids.
Raditz took over the game, squeezed the dice, turned the "one" side toward his palm, applied controlled pressure instantly, and flicked it with precisely calculated force.
The moment the dice hit the ground, it bounced a few times, then began spinning like a top before slowly stopping with the six dots facing upward perfectly.
Androids 17 and 16 looked up at Raditz in succession, with hints of disbelief in their eyes.
"Don't look at me like that. I still want to ask you—why did you move in so brazenly?" Raditz picked up the dice and threw it again.
Android 17 watched the spinning dice. "We were destroyed along with Earth. After resurrection, I wanted to find you and 18, so I went to many places you frequent, but found nothing. After searching around, 16 detected 18's signal, so we came here. Miss Zangya saw that we had nowhere to live, so she took us in."
Android 17 looked at Zangya and said with a smile, "Thank you."
So that was it. Raditz recalled that when he had returned to Earth, Android 18 had indeed been with Zangya.
"But weren't you targeting me?"
"Android 18 and Miss Zangya have told us about the situation—some bastard named Boundless was behind it." Seeing the dice stop on six again, Android 17 paused. "We originally had no need to fulfill anyone's orders, but we participated because it was fun to challenge the strong."
Android 17 was right. As human-modified androids with eternal energy, they were originally beyond control. Even if given orders, it was useless. They had participated in battle simply because they were bored.
The first challenge had failed, and Raditz had let them go. After Earth was destroyed, Raditz had revived them again, and the androids were no longer inclined to trouble Raditz and the others. Furthermore, Android 17, who now understood the difference in strength, had gradually changed his previously defiant attitude.
Raditz listened and rolled the dice again, landing on six once more.
In a short time, the Ludo situation was reversed, and all of Zangya's pieces were ready to advance.
"I figure they don't have anywhere else to go anyway. Why don't they stay here with us? The rooms are empty anyway, and they can help take care of things when we're on New Planet Vegeta." Zangya explained.
"Yes, Android 16 can help with gardening and act as a caretaker. Don't underestimate 16—he can do many things." Android 17 patted Android 16 on the shoulder.
Android 16 nodded in agreement. "Affirmative."
"What about you and 18?" Raditz asked.
"I want to work on a nearby farm and help maintain the local nature preserve. As for 18, that's up to you to arrange." Android 17 spread his hands.
Androids can be pretty shameless too. What do you mean "up to me to arrange"? Raditz sighed softly. "Fine, Zangya's right—you can at least help by living here."
Android 17 got his wish and showed a satisfied smile.
At this point, Zangya had gained the advantage in the board game, so Raditz let her continue playing while he told her about New Planet Vegeta. Then Raditz went to the bedroom to get the "V" badge given to him by the Supreme Kai of Time and prepared to report for duty with Trunks.
Trunks was training in the gravity room when Raditz suddenly appeared behind him.
The moment the shadow appeared, Trunks thought it was a gravity room malfunction and spun around with an extremely fast punch. Under 300 times gravity, Trunks's normal speed was still astonishingly quick.
With a sharp "snap," Raditz caught the punch easily, grabbing Trunks's fist and making him unable to move.
"Your strength has improved again," Raditz laughed.
"Mr. Raditz, why are you here?" Trunks was shocked, then relaxed.
"For your sake. When you entered the Hyperbolic Time Chamber for training, the Supreme Kai of Time found us with a problem." Raditz opened his fingers and released Trunks. "The specific situation is as follows..."
In the gravity chamber bathed in red light, Trunks was terrified after hearing the rough cause and effect of violating the laws of time. Sweat poured down his face and his expression changed dramatically. He hadn't expected his actions would constitute such a serious crime.
Trunks was pleasantly surprised when Raditz mentioned he had an opportunity to make amends. Especially learning that by becoming a Time Patroller, he could repair damaged timelines and maintain the peace and authenticity of spacetime made him even more excited.
In the hopeless environment of his future, how much he had wished for a beautiful world. His and his mother's desire was to see peace. It was precisely because of this wish that he had boarded the time machine to change the past and help Kakarot in that world.
What lay before him now was an opportunity to help the entire universe, and he was naturally extremely willing to accept it.
"Trunks, if you have no objections, I'll take you to meet the Supreme Kai of Time, and she'll conduct a personal interview."
"Supreme Kai of Time?" Trunks suddenly became nervous.
"That's right. Don't be nervous—she's just a little girl."
"Really?"
Placing his hand on Trunks's shoulder, Raditz teleported to the Sacred World of the Kai, then used the badge to contact Chronoa. Through the connection of spacetime power, they arrived at the Time Nest in Toki Toki City.
Chronoa was already waiting there, with elite patrolman Xeno Trunks standing respectfully behind her, his hand resting on his sword hilt as if ready to draw at any moment.
Raditz understood this was to test Trunks.
