Chapter 48 - 48. Come Inside

It was past midnight, but I was still suffering from an itch I could not scratch. It was only when Xavier had told me about it that I realized the reason behind it—Magnus was scared of hurting me. So, he decided to go away.

 

"I won't let that happen," I thought. "No way I'd let Magnus off my leash."

 

With that, while Damien and Xavier were peacefully sleeping in their own beds, I finally went to Magnus's location. The Mate Pull helped me do so, and I sighed as I opened the large doors of his chamber.

 

Right now, Magnus stood by the nearby window, the moonlight casting a faint glow over his chiseled features. His broad shoulders were tense, his hands buried in his pockets as if he were fighting an internal battle I didn't understand. His dark eyes stared out into the night, but I knew he wasn't seeing anything at all. He was lost in his thoughts. He was hesitant. He was expertly controlling the restraint he always had around me.
