When Lucien returned to the Big World, he did not immediately resume his usual work.
Alanthuriel's warning remained fresh in his mind.
The future would no longer narrow around a single dominant path as easily as before.
Lucien knew exactly who would notice that change first.
Aurelia arrived quickly after receiving his summons.
Elunara followed soon afterward, and the Grandmaster of the Obsidian Collegium came last.
The three of them entered one of Lootwell's quieter halls expecting a discussion about the Black Mass.
Instead, Lucien looked at them and asked a simple question.
"Has anything changed when you look into the future?"
Silence followed.
Aurelia's expression shifted first.
Elunara stared at Lucien with obvious suspicion.
The Grandmaster simply narrowed his eyes.
Lucien almost smiled.
That was already enough of an answer.
Aurelia was the first to speak.
"You noticed too?"
"Something happened recently."
Lucien settled into his seat.
