'Shit! I didn't thought about it! What to do? What to do? I thought the landslide was the enough reason for her to give Ankush job.'
"He....he..."
"What?" She asked again with questioning eyes.
"He....used....to take care.....take care of his master. Yeah, he used to take care of his master." He said with a awkward smile.
"Take care of his master? Why?"
"Why?" He repeated, thinking for an excuse. She nod with an eyebrow raised.
"Because....because his master used to be sick. He was sick so his family hired Ankush to take care of him. As a care taker."
"He used to live with his master. Then what happened now? Did he recovered?"
"No, unfortunately he didn't survived. He was old and can't even walk and sit properly. He couldn't even eat his food by himself. Ankush had to cook for him, feed him and take care of his entire house. His master passed away last weak so he lost his job. He didn't wanted to come here but I can't let him live alone with strangers anymore. So i forced him to come here.
He have experience in cooking and cleaning the house so I thought he can work in palace with me. And I can be with him all the time to take care of him. By the way, he have his identity proof. His older certificate is destroyed so I had to make new one. I recently made his identity proof so that he can live here and buy a house in future." He gave the fake identity certificate he made for Ankush to Daksha.
She took the certificate and said "That's a good thought. He lost his family and didn't got the compensation. He even lived with a stranger and took care of him for such a long time. We should be responsible for him. Bring him in palace, I will give him job of servant." She replied with a sad smile and looked at the certificate.
"Thank you, thank you so much your highness. We will be indebted to you." He said with a big smile.
She shook her head "No, it's my duty to look after my kingdom's people. If I was unaware of someone's suffering, i should take immediate action after knowing it. And this is the bare minimum i can do for Ankush compare to what he suffered." She gave the certificate to Agastya.
"Alright." He joined his hands to thank her and replied "I will bring him with me next weak. He will be very happy to hear that he can work in palace."
Daksha smiled to see Agastya's excitement. "Fine, go back to your work now."
"Yes." He nod and left from there with a big smile.
Once Veer entered in his palace, Vikram rushed towards Cabail's house. To hide from the people, he used the abandoned road.
"Cabail! I have a news! And it's important!" He barged inside Cabail's house in hurry.
"Calm down, calm down. What happened?" Cabail asked as he stood up from infront of the fireplace where he was cooking his food. "First, come inside and sit." He walked towards Vikram with his slow steps and made him sit on the mattress on the floor. He then closed the door and all the windows so that no one can eavesdrop.
Vikram looked in his eyes impatiently "It's him! It's indeed him! I heard his conversation with a man in forest!"
Cabail was a bit confused what Vikram is talking about "Who? What conversation?"
"Veer! It's Veer who poisoned his majesty. I heard his conversation with a man. The man was giving him a packet but he refused, saying that he still have the powder that man gave him last time. The powder didn't finished because he was in Jwalana last week and couldn't feed to the person he supposed to feed which is his majesty Viraaj. The man said that he need to answer his majesty, his master, Veer's partner, about why the powder didn't finished yet."
"Did he mentioned his master's name?"
"No, he didn't. He said he have to start everything from the beginning because his majesty Viraaj is using a medicine that can remove the poison from his body. It means they will start poisoning him again. We have to inform about it to his majesty Raksheet and Agastya." Vikram said hurriedly.
Cabail was silent for a while, thinking carefully. They don't know what is happening inside the palace. How Agastya is handling the situation? They have to inform about this matter to Raksheet but sending the message is not so easy. They don't have many messanger birds so they have to wait till the evening when Agastya will be back or send the message now and wait for Agastya to come back from the palace and send the remaining information to Raksheet next day as he want every information of each day.
With a deep breath, he broke the silence "We should send the message right now. About the remaining information, we will send it tomorrow."
"Ok." Vikram replied "Well, do you have any idea why he would poison his own grandfather? Any fight? differences? resentment between them?"
Cabail tried to force his mind to remember if something happened in past few months that made Veer take such a big step. But doesn't matter how much he tried to recall, he can't remember anything.
"No, I don't think anything happened in this past few months. It didn't came infront of commoners even if something happened between them. It must be a internal matter, a family matter."
Vikram nod thoughtfully, trying to figure out what it could be.
"I am not sure but.....I can be wrong but I think is it because princess Ira?"
Cabail furrowed his eyebrows in confusion "What? what does it have to do with her?"
"I don't know but may be Veer hate it that his grandfather always care about princess Ira and never paid attention to him and his twin sister. It's just a guess. He is a crown prince. His father and grandfather should train him and support him to become a great king but instead of that, his majesty used to spend his time on princess Ira, and even after her marriage he is still thinking about her only. May be Veer have started hating his grandfather since childhood." Vikram replied and Cabail was also looking convinced with his words.
"But why now?" He asked while standing up to bring a paper, pen and ink bottle to write the letter. "If he hate his grandfather, he should have done it before. Why now?"
Vikram leaned back, resting his back on the wall behind him. He took a deep breath and tried to find the answer "May be...May be because princess Ira is not arround his majesty anymore. As much as I learned about their relationship, princess Ira used to stay with her grandfather most of the time. May be because of her, he didn't dared to do it before. If something happened to him, she would have taken care of him all the time. And may be his anger grew because even after her marriage, she is his majesty's favourite. He is still not paying attention on Veer."
Cabail sat down infront of Vikram and passed him the paper. "May be that's the case. Here, write the letter, everything you saw and heard. I will send it."
Vikram took the paper and pen from Cabail and started writing the letter. Dipping the pen in ink bottle, he started writing everything he saw and heard in the forest. After finishing the letter, he put the pen down and gave the letter to Cabail.
"Here, i wrote everything. Send it immediately."
Cabail nod while his eyes fixed on the paper, reading it with narrow eyes to read clearly because of his weak eyesight.
Vikram stood up to leave "I am leaving now. Send the message immediately. I will be back Tomorrow."
Cabail nod and looked at Vikram while folding the letter. "Be careful. Don't risk your life if something goes wrong. Don't come infront of him. Keep the distance."
"I will." He then left Cabail's house and went towards palace.
Cabail tied the letter to the bird's leg and flew it towards Jwalana.
In the evening, when Raksheet entered in palace gate after visiting the city and meeting people for the first time being their king, a bird landed on his arm. He looked over his shoulder and found the same bird that Cabail sent last time. The smile instantly spread on his lips and he held the bird in his hand.
"How are you?" He asked and tilted his head "Any News?"
He entered in the meeting hall and told the soldier to summon his father and grandfather.
While waiting for them, he untied the paper from bird's leg and opened it. He placed the bird on the table and started reading the letter.
'I hope everything is fine.' he thought and started reading with a slight smile.
As he read the letter, his smile slowly dropped and eyes widened in shock. He covered his mouth with his hand in shock and tension when Abhiveera and Ashwant entered in meeting hall.
They furrowed their eyebrows when they saw Raksheet's tensed face and worried look. Their eyes fell on the paper he was holding and Abhiveera quickly walked towards him and took the paper from his hand.
He read the letter completely and sat on the chair behind him in shock.
Ashwant walked towards his father and took the paper from him to read. He sat down beside Raksheet and read the paper.
Abhiveera's mind was completely blank. He don't know what to think, what to say and what to do. He can't believe a grandson want to kill his own grandfather. Having such a loving and respectful grandson, Abhiveera never thought that any grandson can do that.
On the one side, there is Ira who sacrificed her own health and sleep to take care of her grandfather when he was sick. And on the other side, there is Veer who poisoned his own grandfather and want to kill him. What is wrong with him?
After reading the letter, Ashwant sighed deeply and placed it on the table infront of him.
"So your information was right. It's indeed Veer who entered in his majesty's chamber that day and changed the medicine to kill him."
Raksheet nod weakly "Yes, it's clear now." He said in a low voice. "But what should we do now?" He looked at his father who was already looking at him.
Their eyes then turned to Abhiveera who was silent, disturbed and staring blankly at somewhere with lazy eyes.
Ashwant reached for his father's hand and asked "Father, are you ok?"
Abhiveera snapped out of his thoughts and looked at Ashwant and Raksheet. He nod repeatedly and said "Yes, Yes. I am fine."
"What should we do now?"
