Dhishva looked at him confused. He is angry on Veer but he can't ignore the love Viraaj have for Ira. May be he thought to give the throne to her and her husband.
"What?"
Veer nod "I heard him saying that he want Ira and Raksheet to take the throne of Aaro. And they said that if he want it to happen, Ira have to kill me."
Dhishva's eyes widened in shock. Even if Viraaj won't do it, Ira will not hesitate to kill Veer. They hate eachother and that ungrateful daughter of his will only need a support or opportunity to destroy his family.
"But the only reason they can't do it is you. They know you will not let it happen but....but we know what Ira can do. I am nothing infront of her and now she have a backer, her husband. He is a king. What will I do if they attack me someday? Grandfather don't want me to get crowned!"
He wiped the tear from his eyes and said "Last time, when we asked grandfather about my coronation; he ignored it. He said I am too young to get crowned. But that Pavan, we are of same age. But he got crowned. Why?! Why grandfather is doing this to me?!"
Dhishva was shocked to know that his father want to kill his son. Viraaj is so fond of Ira that he didn't hesitate to think to kill his own grandson. He want Ira and Raksheet to rule Aaro. Why his father is behaving like this? He always loved his all the grandkids equally. Of course Ira a little more because Dhishva and her siblings don't like her. But it's not a good reason to think to give her entire kingdom and kill Veer. Will he really try to kill Veer in future? No! This can't be!
Veer held Dhishva's arms and tried to convince him "Father, father I am telling you. They will not think twice before killing me. I am.....I am feeling like they really want to kill me. They will kill me."
He started crying harder to look pitiable "Father, I don't want to die. Grandfather want to kill me, that's why he didn't crowned me. He will kill me. Please save me father." He fell at his feet "Please father, save me. I don't want to die." He looked up at his face and requested "If you want, I won't take the throne. I don't want to get crowned but please save me."
Dhishva quickly bent down and cupped Veer's face. His eyes turned moist and he said "No, you don't have to give up. It's your. This kingdom, the throne, the crown, it's all yours. You don't have to give it to anyone."
Veer held Dhishva's hand and started crying hardly, making Dhishva's heart twist to see him like that "But they will kill me."
"No one will kill you! No one can hurt my son until I am alive! You are the prince! I can proudly say you are my son but I can't say that about Ira. She is a curse to me. She brought the darkness, loneliness from my past to my present. I won't let her lay a finger on you."
Veer suddenly hugged Dhishva and he hugged him back. He patted his back to console him and said in trembling voice "I can't believe father have such ill intentions. How can he think to kill you?"
"He don't love me. He don't love me father. He only love Ira. He don't love us." Veer said, crying hard.
Dhishva nod and hugged Veer tightly "I understood it now. He only love her. The reason he yelled at me for the first time is her. The day she came in this world, she built a wall between my father and me."
They broke the hug and Dhishva cupped Veer's face to make him look at him. "Doesn't matter what, I won't let anything happen to you. I will protect you. I don't care who comes in front. I will not spare him. Even if....even if it's my father. If h-he want to kill you, that's enough to show how desparate he is to give Ira our kingdom. And in this kind of politics, we can do anything to protect ourselves. A-Anything."
Veer stopped crying and nod, understanding what his father is trying to say.
Dhishva wiped the tears from Veer's eyes and said. "Don't let anyone know what happened today. I didn't saw anything and you didn't do anything. From now on, you will not meet father too much. Don't go to his chamber or meet him anywhere without any reason. Stay away from him."
"But-"
Dhishva cut him off "Shhh, listen to me carefully. Do you have that medicine you placed in father's chamber? Do you have more?"
Veer thought for awhile and then nod hesitantly.
"Give it to me." Dhishva said.
Veer looked at him confused and said "It's in my chamber."
Dhishva nod and patted Veer's shoulder. "Fine, let's go and give it to me. I will do the remaining work."
Veer's eyes widened in shock "Y-You mean.....You will poison grandfather?"
Dhishva took a deep breath and closed his eyes, letting a lone tear fall from his eyes. He nod and opened his eyes "I have to. He want to kill my son. And I can't let that happen. If he have intentions to kill you, he will not listen to me and will kill you in future without anyone knowing or destroy you. He have lived his life. His beloved granddaughter is having great time at her new home but still he want to destroy you? It can't be. I have to do it."
He patted Veer's shoulder and stood up with broken heart "I have to do it. I don't have any other option. I have to do it. I have to...kill my own father." More tears fell from his eyes but he couldn't do anything.
His son is more precious for him than Viraaj. Viraaj always scolded him because of Ira and this made him doubt his father many times whether he love him as much as he did before Ira was born. But he always ignored it. But what happened today, what Veer said, it's clear that Viraaj only love Ira and don't care about anyone.
Veer stood up and held Dhishva's hands. He looked at him with crying face and said "I am sorry father. It's all happening because of me. I am their target but you have to suffer too, because of me."
Dhishva held his hand tightly and said "No my son. It's not because of you. It's all happening because of that Ira."
The woman who left him when he was born. The face he had never seen but always hated and hoped to never see, that face came in his life again and snatched his father from him. The only person who had always hurt him is not leaving him alone and happy. She didn't wanted him and now, she came back and want to destroy him and his family.
"That ungrateful girl! Father's death will break her from inside. Let her feel what I had felt for years. She deserves this pain, loneliness and abandonment."
