Chapter 72 - Plan

Wu Lan noticed their killing intent and wondered how their brains worked.

Instead of taking revenge on the Shrek team, why are they blaming me?

Such narrow-minded people.

Sensing their malice, he knew they would stir trouble for him. Not that he cared, weaklings are no threat.

But since they had started it, he would make them pay the price for messing with him.

Now, what to do?

Dugu Yan had the Poison Douluo. Yu Tianheng had the Thunder Douluo.

Poison Douluo cared about two things:

-His granddaughter, Dugu Yan.

-His Medicine Garden, which contained Immortal Herbs.

Thunder Douluo cared about his family and clan members.

If I want to do considerable damage without directly involving myself, I need to make them fight each other. But they'll need a reason to fight to the death.

Now, he needed to create a situation that would lead to such a battle.

I need a pawn for that. But who?

Yu Xiaogang came to mind. A good pawn, Wu Lan thought, but no. If I involve him, Bibi Dong will interfere. If Bibi Dong steps in, Poison Douluo will retreat.

Then he remembered Yu Zhenhai, an arrogant kid who had kicked the Soul King Village chief's son to death.

That was the reason Qian Renxue had visited the village to kill the bandits.

When traveling with Qian Renxue, she had told Wu Lan about a twelve-year-old boy from the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, arrogant, cruel, and ruthless, who had mercilessly kicked a poor villager.

Because of that dying villager's plea for justice, she had gone to eliminate the bandits.

Upon returning, she had wanted to deal with Yu Zhenhai immediately, but Wu Lan had stopped her.

Instead, he told her to gather information and make the boy feel true pain.

A month ago, a messenger sent by Qian Renxue had delivered information:

Yu Zhenhai, a twelve-year-old prodigy of the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, already possessed soul power at Level 19. He was considered a future pillar of the sect.

A perfect candidate to become my pawn. And I won't feel guilty about scheming against him.

There were still two months before Shrek Academy traveled to the capital. That was enough time to design a flawless plan to pit the two factions against each other.

While Wu Lan plotted their demise, Dugu Yan and Yu Tianheng were being healed by Ye Lingling.

"Tianheng, once you return home, find someone to deal with him," Dugu Yan said viciously, still feeling the lingering pain.

"Okay. I'll make him pay for insulting us," Yu Tianheng agreed coldly.

Hearing their conversation, Ye Lingling tried to dissuade them, but both ignored her completely.

Her disappointment deepened.

Are these really the people I chose to befriend?

Wu Lan had stopped when she asked him to. He had left without complaint, even though he had been the victim. Yet Dugu Yan and Yu Tianheng whom she considered friends still planned revenge against a victim.

They had completely forgotten about Shrek and were focused solely on Wu Lan.

Neither of them realized Ye Lingling's opinion of them was plummeting while they plotted.

Meanwhile, Tang San, the true culprit behind everything, was with Yu Xiaogang at the Soul Arena Director Ao's office to collect their reward of ten thousand gold coins for defeating the Emperor Team.

After receiving the money, they shamelessly divided it among themselves.

As for sharing with others? That thought never even crossed their minds.

Yu Xiaogang, in particular, was overjoyed. Tianheng, my brother's son, lost to my disciple. It proves how valuable my guidance is.

He imagined Tang San's strength growing under his teachings until the world would chant his name. His fame would bring glory to the clan that had once cast him out.

Eager to share his achievements, he headed toward Flender. Tang San, meanwhile, returned to the academy, thinking about his own future.

He was pleased with his growing fame and with the gold he had earned to build his hidden weapons.

Once he built them, he could sell weaker versions for profit, funding his ultimate goal:

To establish the Tang Sect in this world.

At the academy, Wu Lan met Xiao Wu and Zhuqing.

Xiao Wu was her usual self, but Zhuqing was rubbing her reddened cheeks, glaring at Xiao Wu, who was grinning mischievously.

Seeing this, Wu Lan realized it was Xiao Wu's doing and chuckled at their antics. Together, they returned to their dormitories to rest.

Meanwhile, Flender was being forced to make one of the most important decisions of his life.

When Yu Xiaogang entered his office, he noticed a new person present, Qin Ming, former student of Shrek Academy and current leader of the Emperor Team.

Flender introduced him, and Yu Xiaogang's eyes immediately lit up.

How can I use Qin Ming identity to gain access to the Imperial Academy's resources for Tang San?

No matter how many medicinal herbs they found, building a special training ground would be extremely difficult, and expensive. But with more resources, Tang San's strength could increase even faster.

Of course, Yu Xiaogang's pride would never allow him to ask for help directly. So he subtly steered the conversation toward Shrek Academy's lack of resources, while hiding his true intentions.

Naive Qin Ming, hearing this, felt compelled to help his juniors.

"Master, Dean, how about letting the juniors join the Imperial Academy?"

Before Flender could even respond, Yu Xiaogang quickly said,

"Okay."

Flender was stunned by his immediate agreement. Shrek Academy was his life's work.

But before he could argue, Yu Xiaogang added,

"Flender, we have no resources at Shrek Academy, and we can't compete in the Continental Soul Master Tournament."

Hearing this, Flender realized it might be best for the students. Still, his heart ached as he left the room, leaving Yu Xiaogang in charge of the discussion.

Exactly as Yu Xiaogang had planned.
