Chapter 6 - Episode 6 - "The Ice King of Kenshin"

Opening Scene — Kenshin Academy Gymnasium, Tip-Off Moment

Silence.

The crowd is seated, disciplined. No cheers. No taunts. Just stillness.

Ref blows the whistle. Tip-off.

Knight leaps… but Kenshin's captain, Kaito Shiba, floats above him effortlessly, swatting the ball to his teammate with almost unnatural calm.

Narrator (light):

> "Some games are battles.

This one... is an execution in progress."

---

Scene — First Quarter: Frozen Tempo

Kenshin runs a 4-1 isolation weave, their passes crisp, their spacing robotic. Every dribble echoes like a metronome.

Maxwell calls a high press.

Knight blitzes the ball-handler, but their shooter slips a backdoor cut—easy bucket.

Coach Rintaro grits his teeth.

Coach:

> "They don't react. They anticipate."

Hunter tries to break the rhythm—screams down the lane, launches into a thunder dunk.

Blocked.

Kaito didn't even jump hard. Just timed it perfectly.

Maxwell narrows his eyes.

Maxwell (thinking):

> "He's not reading the play…

He's reading us."

---

Scene — Flashback to the Kenshin Locker Room, Earlier That Day

Kaito Shiba sits, lacing his shoes without urgency.

His voice is calm, his tone surgical.

Kaito:

> "Their talent is noise.

We are silence."

A teammate nods.

Kaito:

> "Cut through them.

Ice doesn't rage. It erodes."

---

Scene — Second Quarter: Knight Cracks

Knight gets the ball, waves off the screen.

He charges.

Stripped.

Again.

Kaito doesn't trash-talk. Just stares.

Knight gets frustrated. Too frustrated. He shouts at Hunter for missing a switch.

Maxwell steps in.

Maxwell:

> "You're not angry at him. You're afraid of him."

Knight looks away.

---

Meanwhile — Girls' Bench

Airi watches from the sideline, fists clenched.

Airi (thinking):

> "They're unraveling."

Rena whispers beside her.

Rena:

> "Number 0… is too quiet. That guy gives me chills."

---

Halftime — Locker Room

Silence. The team breathes heavy.

Coach Rintaro steps forward.

Coach:

> "Forget their system. Break their mind."

All eyes on Maxwell.

Maxwell:

> "They're waiting for chaos.

So we give them… controlled chaos."

He looks at Knight.

Maxwell:

> "And you… be the storm, not the wind."

"Draw them to you—then disappear."

---

Third Quarter — Shift in Rhythm

Knight begins to hesitate… then adapt.

He stops forcing drives and starts manipulating attention—passes to Hunter for a slam.

Then a fake drive → kick out to Maxwell.

Swish.

Tokyo International gains momentum. The bench erupts.

Even Kenshin's fans shift uneasily.

Kaito finally speaks to his teammates.

Kaito:

> "They're bleeding into rhythm.

Cut the vein."

---

Final Two Minutes — Game Locked 59–59

Kaito begins moving differently.

Suddenly, his eyes flicker pale blue.

He glides through defenders like mist—euro step—score.

Camera closes on Maxwell's eyes.

He's noticed.

Maxwell (softly):

> "That's not natural…"

---

Final 30 Seconds — Down by 2

Tokyo International calls timeout.

Coach draws up a misdirection. But Maxwell rewrites it mid-play.

Maxwell:

> "Forget the play. Knight… go rogue."

Knight nods.

Play resumes.

Knight dribbles. Drives into two. Spins—ball swings to Maxwell.

Kaito slides into position.

But Knight keeps running… Hunter seals off the wing.

Maxwell fakes the shot—alley-oop lob.

Knight catches it mid-air—slam. Tie game.

Overtime.

---

Final Scene — Kenshin Bench, Just Before Overtime

Kaito cracks his neck.

His eyes—no longer cold. Now—awake.

Kaito (to himself):

> "So the ghost has bite…

Good.

I was getting bored."

Camera zooms out.

Rain begins to fall outside the gym roof windows.

Tension builds like thunder.
