The disciples of the Crimson Ghost Sect were about to die of fright.
They had originally intended to ambush Lin Yun. But who could have imagined that not only would they fail to seize the opportunity, but that the tables would be so completely turned on them?
One of them wanted to run. But Lin Yun, of course, gave them no such chance, quickly defeating all of them.
"I don't care what your status is," Lin Yun said, his voice as calm as still water. "But if you can't give me a proper explanation today, then my only choice is to eliminate all of you." He looked at the terrified men with the same relaxed demeanor as before.
Fang Yu'er glanced at Lin Yun from the side. Although his expression hadn't changed much as he spoke, his eyes said everything.
The disciples did not want to surrender so easily, but faced with an opponent of unknown depth like Lin Yun, their hearts were in turmoil. The moment their eyes met his, they felt a jolt of panic and immediately lowered their heads, not daring to say another word.
After achieving this, Lin Yun just gave a contemptuous smile. "It seems you do have something to fear after all. You're not all just a bunch of mindless brutes like I thought."
With that, he slowly walked forward. "Alright, talk. What is in this tomb that is worth the Crimson Ghost Sect going to such great lengths for?"
This operation by the Crimson Ghost Sect had not only attracted his attention but was also being observed by the entire Daye Dynasty. If someone were to say this matter had nothing to do with the Dynasty, Lin Yun would never believe it.
The men looked at each other, still unable to make a decision. The rules within the Crimson Ghost Sect were incredibly strict. If it were discovered that they had dared to betray the organization, death would be certain.
Just then, Lin Yun pointed to one of them. "Your name is Zhu Fang, isn't it? You will be dead in less than a quarter of an hour. Did you know that?"
Zhu Fang was completely dumbfounded. He didn't know if Lin Yun was threatening him or if there was some other reason for his words. The other men beside him were also baffled.
Lin Yun didn't explain. He just continued on his own. "And you will die at the hands of a color-changing pangolin."
Relying on his ability to see their panels, Lin Yun knew exactly what the fate of each of these men would be. Without exception, none of them would survive this tomb.
Naturally, Zhu Fang didn't believe a word of it. And in truth, the situation was just as Lin Yun had seen. After being captured, some would choose to give up. But a portion of them would still cling to a sliver of hope, preparing to resist and escape. Zhu Fang was one of them. Unlike the others, he still had a few trump cards he hadn't played. If he used them, he might just have a chance to get away.
So, for a moment, he was indeed startled by what Lin Yun had said. But he quickly dismissed it. What a joke. Does this idiot really think he can predict the future? If this had happened in the past, he might have been a little worried. But now, he had no such thoughts. Does this guy really think he has the ability to see what's coming? The thought was so absurd it made Zhu Fang want to laugh.
Lin Yun, of course, knew what Zhu Fang was thinking. He didn't even need to feel tense. He just had to wait. Since it was something that had already occurred on the panel, he could be certain that as long as he didn't interfere, it would soon come to pass.
Just as everyone was thinking that Lin Yun must have gone mad, a sudden change occurred.
Zhu Fang had actually escaped.
A moment ago, his companions had been doubting the truth of Lin Yun's words. But now, seeing Zhu Fang choose to flee, they grew even more skeptical. The man is gone. How can you possibly dictate the manner of his death now?
After slipping from Lin Yun's grasp, Zhu Fang finally breathed a sigh of relief. He knew Lin Yun must have been bluffing.
"A bunch of idiots, actually scared by that moron," he gloated internally. "I've run away now. What can you possibly do to me?" To him, Lin Yun's words were nothing more than an attempt to scare them. But Zhu Fang was not so easily frightened. He was feeling quite smug now, thinking he could soon escape to safety and just had to report this to his superiors.
But at that critical moment, Zhu Fang suddenly felt a chill. He then noticed something on the wall. It looked like a crawling creature, about half the size of a man.
When Zhu Fang saw the creature, it was also looking at him. Its eyes were massive, and strangely, they were filled with a rich, shifting tapestry of colors. The moment Zhu Fang saw them, he was frozen in place, unable to move.
In the next instant, the crawling creature on the wall leaped towards him, its movements bizarre beyond belief.
The men who had been about to laugh at Lin Yun were now deathly silent. They could only watch as the creature flew past Zhu Fang, biting off half his body in the process.
Blood rained down.
Watching Zhu Fang fall, the remaining men stared at each other. They had learned a little about the tomb over the past few days and knew that some very dangerous creatures lived here. But they had never seen an opponent so strange.
"Shall I predict how the rest of you will die?"
Seeing that Zhu Fang had been dealt with, Lin Yun turned his gaze to the remaining men. He was using this method to intimidate them, to make them understand what they were dealing with.
The men now stared at each other in horror. Although they didn't know what had just happened, they could be certain that the man before them was no simple character. After a moment of thought, they quickly made their decision.
Although they were now willing to cooperate, they didn't know much about the situation. According to them, even the Crimson Ghost Sect's current understanding of the entire tomb was still quite poor. This tomb was very mysterious and very dangerous. Even some of the high-level experts had run into trouble inside, let alone small-fry like them. It was because their strength was insufficient to go deeper that they had been left here to hold off Lin Yun's group. They just never expected Lin Yun's group to be even more ruthless.
But from these men, Lin Yun did manage to glean some key information.
The Crimson Ghost Sect had indeed sent many experts this time, including one who was at the Yin-Yang Realm, a realm above Myriad Law. To be able to reach such a realm was exceedingly rare, even throughout history. He never thought the Crimson Ghost Sect would possess such a master.
