Chapter 322 - Chapter 323: The Coldest Man

Even Cao Yuzhe was lost in a myriad of thoughts. He didn't know if his decision was the right one. Perhaps they should be retreating right now. But for him, it was already too late to run.

At that moment, he gritted his teeth and stamped his foot. So much time had already passed. It was impossible for him to escape now anyway. He might as well go all in. No matter what these creatures wanted to do, today, he would fight alongside them.

With this thought, Cao Yuzhe unhesitatingly charged to the very front.

The disciples behind him, influenced by his actions, were instantly filled with a heroic passion, as if they could already see the hope of survival.

Faced with these foolish men, Lin Yun could only shake his head with a sense of weary resignation. He had no intention of killing them so easily.

In the next moment, he directly summoned the Mystic Netherworld Aberrant Flame. He mixed the aberrant flame with his Great River Sword Style, instantly creating a line of fire in front of him.

The disciples of the Crimson Ghost Sect never would have imagined that Lin Yun would unleash such a technique so decisively. When they charged, they were already filled with the thought of taking him down with them. But the first few men who plunged headfirst into that wall of flame were instantly turned to ash.

Those behind them froze where they stood, caught in a dilemma, not knowing what to do. They began to shout and curse loudly.

Faced with this furious crowd, Lin Yun showed little emotional fluctuation. "I warned you long ago. Everything in that room was extremely dangerous. If you wanted to live, you should not have gone in there looking for so-called treasures. You were the ones who refused to listen, and that is what led to this result. To point all your spears at me now is not very rational. But as for what you should do next… that is your own business."

Lin Yun glanced at the despair-filled face of Cao Yuzhe, knowing that this man was the one who had benefited from this outcome. But he thought he could remain detached from it all, never knowing that everything was still under Lin Yun's control.

Miserable screams and wails now merged into one. Everyone was blaming Lin Yun for all of their misfortunes. But to Lin Yun, killing these people was no great loss. They were all vicious criminals anyway.

Fang Yu'er, however, looked at Lin Yun with a new sense of fear. She finally understood now why this man was able to survive in such a dangerous world. Because he was more ruthless than anyone else. He might seem easygoing on the surface, but when it came time to strike, he showed not a shred of mercy.

"I had originally thought we would also be dragged down by these people, but now it seems that's not a possibility," Fang Yu'er said with a sigh, a deep sense of admiration for Lin Yun now in her heart.

"Although these men were not that strong, their loss is not meaningless to us," Lin Yun said, glancing at her. "From here on, we will have no one to send to their deaths to scout the path ahead for us. So we must be even more cautious."

He had not let his guard down. He knew that from now on, they would have many more problems to consider. Since they were continuing forward, and they knew the legendary Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land lay ahead, he naturally had to prepare in advance. Along the way, he had been doing his best to recover his strength. After all, he could be faced with a powerful opponent at any moment. He didn't dare to act rashly, and could only hope that in the time to come, everything would remain under his control.

He was fortunate to have his panel to warn him, allowing him to know in advance of the troubles that could occur at any time. Otherwise, he wouldn't have known what to do.

And so, the group of three continued on.

They soon arrived at the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land. The entrance to this land and the tomb was, surprisingly, just a single temple door. From the outside, it looked like nothing special. But the moment you stepped across the threshold, you would feel an extremely strong pressure from all around you, as if it were about to grind you into dust. Just as quickly, the pressure would vanish into nothingness.

Lin Yun took a deep breath and looked around. Although he had anticipated some of this, after truly arriving, he was still surprised. This place was, as he suspected, remarkably similar to the Ancient Forbidden Land of the Beast Taming Sect. Seeing this, he understood.

"Isn't this just the Ancient Forbidden Land?" Even Zhou Damao, after looking around, voiced his own question. Everything he saw was indeed identical to the forbidden land they knew.

Lin Yun nodded. "If my guess is correct, this is likely just one part of some larger world. That's why it has this feeling of fragmented beauty." He couldn't help but marvel. The great master who could control heaven and earth was truly incomparably powerful, to be able to split off such a fragment.

The others looked at each other, not knowing what to say. The world before them was vast, even larger than the forbidden land he had encountered before.

The Crimson Ghost Sect's goal this time was clearly the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land. But no one knew what they intended to obtain here.

"You know, these guys from the Crimson Ghost Sect are really strange," Zhou Damao said curiously. "None of the key items are in their hands, but they don't seem to be in a hurry at all. They're still just proceeding with their plan, step by step."

According to the Crimson Ghost Sect's usual character, having gained no benefits, they should be as anxious as ants on a hot pan, trying every means possible to solve the problem. But that was not the case. They were acting as if nothing was wrong, eating and drinking as usual. Could it be that they didn't care at all that the key treasures were not in their hands?

Lin Yun was silent. He had the same question. But for now, he had no way to explain it. As for the Crimson Ghost Sect's true purpose, probably very few people could say. Even he was in a state of complete ignorance about it.

Lin Yun looked around. Since they had already arrived at the Desolate Ancient Forbidden Land, he might as well see if he could find some great opportunity here.

Just then, Fang Yu'er pointed into the distance. "What is that?"

Lin Yun looked up and saw a colossal bird of immense size, soaring through the air.

And at that moment, the giant bird's gaze locked onto Lin Yun and the others.
