Chapter 321 - Chapter 322: When Greed Wreaks Havoc

Zhou Damao had originally wanted to eliminate all of those unpredictable people to prevent future trouble. But seeing Lin Yun's current demeanor, it was clear he had no such intention. In the end, Zhou Damao could only choose to trust him. As for what the final outcome would be, that was not something he could predict.

"Are you really sure those guys won't ruin our plans?" Zhou Damao muttered under his breath.

"Rest assured, Senior Brother," Lin Yun said, his voice full of a contemptuous disdain that he didn't bother to hide. "If they dare to make a move, I can eliminate all of them in an instant. To me, they are nothing more than tools to be used."

No matter what they were thinking, it was best for them not to act rashly in this situation. If they dared to make even one unexpected move against him, they could well imagine what would happen next.

Seeing Lin Yun's completely serious expression, Zhou Damao just nodded. He had considerable faith in his junior brother and figured that Lin Yun must have his own plans for this.

Fang Yu'er, on the other hand, subconsciously moved a little closer to Lin Yun. Since arriving here, she felt the degree of danger was far greater than she had imagined. If she hadn't been worried about running into trouble outside, she would never have chosen to come to such a perilous place. Fortunately, she had Lin Yun by her side. He was the only man who could give her a sense of security.

"What will we encounter next?" she asked. For some reason, it seemed to her that Lin Yun understood the changes in this place very clearly.

But this time, Lin Yun shook his head. "I would love to tell you there's nothing to worry about, but the truth is, I don't fully understand everything in here either." As he spoke, a helpless smile touched his lips. Some things looked simple, but in reality, they were far more troublesome than they imagined.

Just like now.

As Cao Yuzhe watched Lin Yun's group walk further and further away, several Crimson Ghost Sect disciples beside him began to stir.

"Senior Brother, are we just going to let them leave like that?"

"That's right, Senior Brother Cao! They humiliated us so badly before. Now is the best chance for a counter-attack!"

Looking at the arrogant expressions on their faces, Cao Yuzhe just sneered. During the chaos before, they hadn't been able to kill Lin Yun. How could they possibly have a chance of dealing with such a troublesome opponent in the current situation? In his eyes, it was a complete joke. He paid no mind to their words.

"I don't care what you thought of this matter before, but right now, I advise you all to be careful. If you really think Lin Yun is an opponent you can defeat by being as naive as you are, you are gravely mistaken."

He knew how formidable Lin Yun was, so he didn't entertain their foolish ideas. Even if their entire group joined forces, they might not be able to easily defeat him. Rather than seeking their own deaths at a time like this, it was better to obediently do their own jobs.

His gaze shifted to the treasure room nearby. "Since that man doesn't care about it, this is the perfect opportunity for us to go in and take everything."

With Cao Yuzhe's command, several of the experts charged toward the room.

All of this, of course, was within Lin Yun's control.

The result was predictable. That place had been a trap from the beginning. The moment those so-called disciples rushed inside, their lives were forfeit.

Soon, miserable screams echoed from within. In the eyes of the onlookers, the objects that had been glittering with jewels and treasure had all transformed into ferocious, terrifying monsters.

And these monsters not only killed the disciples inside the room but, at that very moment, they also charged out, their new targets clearly the people outside.

The disciples outside had been watching with the mentality of spectators at a play. But now, seeing the monsters rushing toward them, they were filled with terror. Their first thought was to scatter and flee, to somehow resist the fear in their hearts.

The result of such chaos was easy to imagine.

Lin Yun, Zhou Damao, and the others were already about to enter the passageway on the right. Lin Yun had known long ago that those people would cause trouble, so he had no intention of lingering, even though he knew the final outcome. To him, avoiding as much trouble as possible was always a good thing.

However, what Lin Yun hadn't expected was that after these people ran into danger, they would, without the slightest hesitation, run straight for him.

He knew, of course, what they were thinking. It was nothing more than disaster diversion. They knew they couldn't handle the monsters behind them, so they wanted to hand the problem over to him.

If it had been an ordinary person, it might have worked. But how could Lin Yun not know what was in their hearts? He just let out a cold laugh.

"I told you before. Even if I make a promise to these people, it holds no protective meaning. It doesn't take long for them to tear up that so-called promise themselves."

Seeing the crazed state of the Crimson Ghost Sect disciples now, Lin Yun wasn't the least bit surprised. With another sneer, he slammed his sword casket heavily onto the ground. At the same time, a terrifying energy rapidly spread out from him as the center.

The Crimson Ghost Sect disciples had gone completely insane. They didn't seem to realize that if they continued to charge forward, they would most likely die at Lin Yun's hands. But since they were going to die either way, why not try to drag Lin Yun down with them?

Faced with these people who didn't know their own limits, Lin Yun was, as expected, unfazed. He just snorted.

The Firmament Sword flew out.

First came a single move: Great River Sword Style.

The Crimson Ghost Sect disciples at the very front were instantly slain by the powerful sword technique. The scene that fell upon the eyes of the disciples behind them was, naturally, terrifying.

But just then, someone shouted, "The monsters are coming! What are you all standing there for? We're dead either way! Do you think you'll live if you stop? As long as we get past him, that boy will have to deal with them!"

In their minds, the monsters behind them were clearly far more terrifying than Lin Yun. If they could just get close to him, they could make the monsters fight him instead.

At this, Lin Yun just sneered.

The next moment, his voice exploded like a clap of thunder.

"All of you, stop! Get back!"

The sound was so powerful and resonant that for a split second, everyone was thrown into a daze.
