"Eat the vegetables! Gordon!"
"Hurry up!"
Leo's height of six foot six allowed him to easily see over the crowd and witness the scene inside.
A tall, crew-cut youth was firmly pressing a thin boy wearing glasses face-down into a meal tray, forcing him to eat the leftover food on the plate.
The surrounding students excitedly watched this scene, not only did no one step forward to stop it, but they kept clapping and cheering.
No wonder people always said that most Westerners were incompletely evolved barbarians—the more violent something was, the more excited they became.
Wasn't this exactly the case now?
Leo recognized both protagonists of this incident.
The one being bullied—he didn't know his name, but he was indeed his classmate.
He was the type who only studied, didn't cause trouble, didn't make trouble, and had no social skills.
Perhaps in China, such children were well-liked—teachers loved them, parents felt at ease, and they were usually called "other people's children."
But in America... heh, this was simply the perfect target for bullying.
The one doing the bullying was the school basketball team captain, an athletic achiever who had become a school bully through his strong physique.
Flash Thompson.
Leo remembered him because this guy seemed to be some kind of hero, with a deep relationship to Spider-Man.
But he had forgotten the specific details.
After all, in the Marvel world, superheroes were more numerous than dogs, even without mutants.
Walking down the streets of New York, you could randomly throw a brick and hit this hero or that hero.
They really weren't worth much.
When it came to Marvel, Leo's greatest knowledge was about the Avengers members.
After telling Gwen about what was happening there, Gwen just frowned but had no intention of intervening.
School bullying was complicated. Just because you helped the bullied person once didn't mean you could help them every time, and good intentions might even backfire.
It might make the bullies even more brutal.
Just as the two were about to bypass this group of energetic students and go home, the situation changed again.
"Peter, you came at the right time—film this scene!"
"No, I won't film this. Put him down."
"Put him down, Eugene!"
Hearing this name, Thompson dropped Gordon and angrily punched Peter to the ground.
Eugene was Thompson's real name, but it was a name only Russians would give.
Thompson didn't want people to know he had Russian blood, so he strongly disliked this name and always made people call him Flash.
Watching Peter Parker being continuously beaten, Leo frowned and said to Gwen beside him:
"Wait for me here, I'll be right back."
After saying this, Leo pushed through the crowd and came to the front, just as Thompson was about to punch Peter again.
He immediately rushed forward and kicked out.
"Bang—!"
The two-hundred-pound Thompson flew seven or eight meters and landed on the ground, gasping in pain. This was the result of Leo holding back his strength.
"Did I give you face or something? How dare you hit my classmate?"
The originally cheering crowd instantly fell silent. Thompson struggled for a long time before standing up, swinging his fists and charging forward.
"Fuck, Leo! You've pissed me off!"
"Bang—!"
Another kick, and this time Thompson couldn't get up.
"Don't play school bully games with me. When I was being a school bully, you didn't even know where you were playing Boy Scouts."
Leo sneered. When he first entered Midtown Middle School, because he was Asian, quite a few people wanted to bully him.
But as a Saiyan, Leo was never afraid of school bullying—he only feared that the school wasn't violent enough.
In his first year of middle school, he had dealt with all the troublemakers in school who had provoked him, becoming the new troublemaker.
It was only later when Gwen appeared that Leo restrained himself considerably.
Otherwise, how would Thompson dare to speak loudly to him today?
"Thank you, Leo."
Peter covered his face and came over to thank him. The surrounding onlookers had decreased significantly, afraid that Leo might target them.
"You've been helping me with homework for two and a half years—this is nothing."
"If this guy gives you trouble again in the future, just come find me."
Leo patted Peter's shoulder, not even glancing at Thompson, and walked toward where Gwen was, finally throwing out a parting line.
"Today's homework is also in your hands, Garfield."
Peter looked at Leo's retreating figure with a helpless expression.
"I've told you so many times, I'm not called Garfield."
He and Leo were friends too, but he didn't know why Leo always called him Garfield.
Peter was such an easy name to remember!
"Peter! Peter! Are you okay?"
Peter's school friend Harry came running over in a hurry. As soon as he heard that Peter had gotten into conflict with Thompson, he immediately realized something was wrong, but he was still a step too late.
"I'm fine, Leo saved me."
Peter shook his head.
"Leo? You mean that real man from your class?"
Harry's mind immediately conjured up images of Leo's muscular physique.
Hearing this, Peter was unhappy: "Harry, I'm a real man too."
"You?" Harry looked at his stick-thin best friend with disdain and shook his head. "You're just a buddy."
"Shit..."
"I didn't expect you to have quite a sense of justice."
Walking home, Gwen and Leo were discussing what had just happened.
"No, I intervened only because it involved my friend. If it were someone else, I wouldn't even glance at them."
Leo shook his head: "If you don't have the strength, don't try to be a hero, or getting beaten is well-deserved."
"No matter what you say, you're always right."
Gwen stuck out her tongue, made a face, grabbed Leo's hand, and quickened their pace.
"Let's hurry up. I told Mom you were coming for dinner, and it should be ready soon."
"As long as it's not vanilla-flavored fish, I'll come."
"Oh my, that's all over and you're still bringing it up. Hurry up!"
Following Gwen, the two arrived at the entrance of a high-end apartment building.
George's income was quite good—he could afford to buy a sizeable luxury apartment in the core area of Queens.
Leo even suspected he might have some side business. A police chief shouldn't be this wealthy...
