The moment realization struck, Shihouin Yoruichi's expression shifted dramatically, her eyes narrowing as memory surged forward with chilling clarity. How could she forget? According to Seireitei's strict protocols, any Shinigami above the vice-captain rank was required to suppress their power before entering the Human Worldâa non-negotiable measure implemented by the Gotei 13 to shield the living from the overwhelming force of high-tier spiritual beings. Without that seal, even the passive presence of a captain-class Shinigami could inadvertently dislodge a human soul from its body, creating catastrophic consequences. As such, every seated officer beyond the vice-captain level had to receive a seal that suppressed eighty percent of their spiritual power before descending.
Yoruichi's gaze snapped toward Su Li's back, and an involuntary chill crept up her spine, as if the surrounding air had grown colder in an instant. That monsterâhe had been fighting her using only twenty percent of his actual strength?
Not far from her, Urahara Kisuke's pupils contracted sharply, his body responding before his mind could catch up, instinctively stepping backward as if trying to create space between himself and the boy who now radiated quiet, incomprehensible power. The thought that Su Li had been playing with them while barely trying was as absurd as it was terrifying. Su Li, fully aware of their growing unease, sighed in mild exasperation, his voice unspoken but echoing in the room like a subtle declaration: the seal only restricted spiritual pressure, not Ultra Instinct.
That divine technique wasn't governed by spiritual energy. Even if the Gotei 13 sealed him down to absolute zero, it wouldn't so much as dent that transcendental power. And yet, watching their horrified expressions gave him an odd sense of satisfaction. If they wanted to misunderstand the situation, let them. He had no reason to correct their delusions. Sometimes, silence was the sharpest blade.
Maintaining a serene posture and nodding with exaggerated calm, he offered a simple response, his tone devoid of emotion, "Well⊠yes, you're right." That was all it took. The exchange between Urahara and Yoruichi grew heavier with unspoken tension, their complex expressions betraying a flurry of unspoken questions. This young man's composure, his bearing, the clarity in his eyesâit wasn't that of a teenager. He radiated the stillness of someone who had lived through centuries, tempered not by time but by pressure.
Sharp-minded. Deeply reserved. Shamelessly thick-skinned. And, above all, absurdly powerful.
Where had Soul Society hidden such a monster? Why had no one ever heard of him until now? Urahara's thoughts raced. According to all the intel available, Su Li wasn't supposed to be like this. His name had burst into the world out of nowhere, shaking the hierarchy of strength overnight. What had he been doing all those years in obscurity, lying dormant with this power smoldering beneath the surface? That level of patience reminded Urahara of only one other manâAizen. The comparison was terrifying. Both men exuded the same terrifying calm, brilliance, and unreadable composure.
Just being near Su Li made his skin itch.
"If I can help it," Urahara thought grimly, "I won't provoke this guy again."
But while the others were still tangled in fearful speculation, Su Li's mind had moved on entirely. His pulse beat not with worry or tension, but with uncontainable anticipation. It was timeâto ransack the Urahara Store. For free.
"Mr. Urahara, let's go! Don't dawdle!" he called cheerfully.
Urahara blinked out of his swirling thoughts, forcing a smile that barely concealed the unease beneath it. "Haha, sorry... I spaced out. Please, this way," he mumbled, and with a flicker of Shunpo, vanished into the distance. Su Li followed behind him, a lopsided grin tugging at his lips, light on his feet like a child about to break open a treasure chest.
Yoruichi, still rooted to the spot, stared at his retreating figure, her thoughts knotted and her muscles tight. After a long pause, she let out a long breath, then melted into the shadows with a whisper of movement.
---
Urahara Store, Karakura Town.
In the dim courtyard behind the shop, a small girl scrubbed the stone tiles with trembling hands and a miserable look on her face. Wu Yuâeveryone called her Xiao Yuâwas the shop's young clerk, and even though the night had long since fallen, she was still cleaning the already-spotless yard with grim determination. Not because it was dirty, but because someone kept littering on purpose.
"Hurry up, idiot!" barked a red-haired boy as he spat grape skins onto the ground with theatrical disdain. That was Hanakari Jintaâbrash, loud, and perpetually insufferable. Xiao Yu swept up the mess without a word, her expression sorrowful but resigned.
Then, without warningâflash.
Three figures materialized at the gate, their presence igniting a sharp reaction.
"The manager! And Miss Yoruichi!" Jinta sprang up instantly, his previous arrogance replaced with sudden excitement, while Xiao Yu looked toward the source of the sound, her expression brightening.
The anti-spirit barrier shimmered faintly as it opened, granting passage to the three who calmly entered the courtyard.
"Huh? Who's the kid?" Jinta squinted, puzzled, at the unfamiliar boy walking behind Urahara, while Xiao Yu tilted her head, curious.
Suddenly, an incantation cracked through the silence.
"BakudĆ #99: Kin!"
Straps of binding energy appeared from nowhere, snapping around Su Li's limbs and locking him into place. Before anyone could react, a second chant followed instantly.
"BakudĆ #99, Part 2: Bankin!"
A massive cloth surged forward, wrapping Su Li in countless layers like a tightly coiled dumpling. Tessai Tsukabishi stepped out from the house, his face grim and resolute as he pushed both hands forward in final reinforcement.
"Master Tessai!!" Urahara and Yoruichi shouted in unison, alarm flashing in their voices.
But Tessai didn't respond. His focus was absolute.
"Urahara! Miss Yoruichi! Run nowâget out of here!" he barked, his tone sharp with urgency. "That child's spiritual pressureâhe's captain-level at the very least. There's no other explanation! He must have overpowered you both and is using your likeness as cover. With this sealing technique, he won't escape easily. Use this time to flee!"
Tessai's heart thundered with dread. The power emanating from that boy was monstrous. This was no accidentâthis was an invasion.
Even as he processed the danger, Jinta scoffed dismissively. "Huh?! A Shinigami?" he said mockingly, yanking out a bat the size of a grown man and charging with reckless confidence.
"Jinta, don'tâ!" Xiao Yu warned softly, but it was already too late.
Her broom twisted in her hands, morphing into a high-powered cannon as she raised it toward the bound figure. Yet before she could fire, a calm voice rang out with chilling clarity.
"...Is this how you treat your guests?"
A beat of silence. Thenâboom.
The entire binding cloth disintegrated into glowing ash as Su Li's body flickered forward, far too fast for any eye to follow. In the next instant, his hands were clamped around the throats of Jinta and Tessai, lifting them clean off the ground.
With a single effortless movement, he slammed both bodies into the wall, creating deep, spider-webbed cracks in the concrete as the force echoed through the building. Xiao Yu's cannon never fired. She stood frozen, eyes wide, the swirling air around her stirring faintly with the fallout of pressure. Neither Jinta nor Tessai had even seen him move.
Tessai trembled, disbelief etched across his face. The double-layered, ninety-ninth-level BakudĆâhis proudest techniqueâhad been obliterated like paper. As the former head of the KidĆ Corps, he knew better than anyone how impossible that should've been. Even most captains couldn't shake free without suffering massive injuries. But this boy⊠he didn't even blink.
For a long moment, no one spoke. Then finally, Urahara let out a long, exhausted sigh and turned his eyes skyward, utterly defeated.
---
Minutes Later.
"Ohh, is this the Hollow-mask combat suit? I'll take one. Invisibility cloak? That too. Portable Gigai skeleton? Toss it in the bag. Hmm? Your computer? What graphics card's in it? Wait, I can't take it? No worriesâI'll just pull the motherboard!"
Su Li zipped through the store like a tornado wearing a backpack, moving from shelf to shelf with unrepentant glee, snatching up anything that caught his interest. Yoruichi stood stiffly in the corner, eyes hollow, while Jinta and Tessai knelt beside her with swollen heads, dazed into silence. Xiao Yu bit her lip hard, her expression on the verge of tears, paralyzed by fear.
From a back room, Urahara's voice echoed between forced chuckles and the unmistakable sound of spiritual weeping as his precious store was systematically looted to the foundation.
The plundering didn't stop until the sky outside began to glow with morning light.
At last, Su Li emerged from the storefront, a massive bag slung across one shoulder, his expression bright with satisfaction. Had Frog Cub seen him now, it would've shed tears of joy and pride. "Son, you've grown upâyou finally know how to bring things back home."
Bathed in the soft gold of dawn, Su Li stretched like a man who'd just finished a full-body massage, then turned back and waved with cheerful energy.
"Thanks for the hospitality! I'll be visiting often!"
The people standing in the doorwayâYoruichi, Tessai, Xiao Yu, Jintaâlifted their hands numbly to wave back. Their movements were robotic, their eyes glassy. Urahara stood among them, the most expressive of all, tears streaming freely as he waved both arms in the air with genuine grief.
