Chapter 3 - Unexpected Meeting

Behind him, Seraphine gasped, clutching her bleeding side. Her needles had dissolved into crimson mist, her strength clearly waning. The lead vampire licked her own claws, savoring the metallic tang of Seraphine's blood. "Sweet," she purred. From a distance there were suddenly many voices coming. Suddenly, three vampires arrived. Two masked vampires with one carrying a sword, and one carrying a scyte. But there was one vampire who stood proudly wearing a black suit in the middle of the two vampires who accompanied him. "Looks like we found him" said the vampire in the suit. Knowing this, Edwin panicked even more. However, Seraphine smiled happily and while feeling relieved she said "Lord Aji... luckily you came at the right time". The vampire in the black suit—Lord Aji—tilted his head, his Bright blue and red eyes glowing like molten coins in the shadows. "Seraphine," he acknowledged with a voice like velvet wrapped around steel. Then his gaze slid to exhausted and injured Edwin.

Not long after that, Aji ordered her two followers to execute all chaotic vampires. "Kill them all, don't leave anything behind" then they calmly and respectfully answered "Sendika dawuh, sir". Immediately the two vampires finished off all the chaotic vampires there quickly like killing ants. Edwin was amazed at how quickly and easily the two vampires who helped him took care of the vampire who attacked him and Seraphine. Then Seraphine used her power to heal her wounds, as the laceration on her chest quickly healed itself. Edwin was confused, why there were vampires who attacked him and there were also vampires who helped him. Edwin asked "What kind of situation is this? There were six vampires attacking us and now three vampires are helping us? Hey Seraphine can you explain it?" Suddenly Edwin was surprised because Seraphine's wound suddenly healed. Seraphine replied with relief "huhhh.... Okay Edwin, the six vampires that attacked us earlier are chaotic vampires, vampires that are affected or seduced by chaos. While these three vampires... They are pure and genuine vampires, not affected by chaos at all. Ohhh I forgot" shocked and immediately respectfully Seraphine continued her explanation "And the vampire wearing the black suites is..." Instantly the vampire approached Edwin and Seraphine and interrupted "My name is Aji Prasetyo, the leader of the vampires. It just so happens that I was with Lucy and Ron hunting down the chaotic vampires that have destroyed a nearby village" Edwin finally realized that the one in front of him was his father "You..." Aji replied with calmly smile at his face "Yes, I am your father in this realm." Edwin's breath caught in his throat. The steel rod slipped from his fingers and clattered to the damp ground. Edwin's mind raced—was the tall, imposing figure with eyes like burning gems, the charismatic leader, was Him? Aji observed Edwin's shock with an unreadable expression, then brushed a speck of ash from his clean sleeve. "You have your mother's eyes," he said, as if commenting on the weather.

Seraphine coughed into her fist, breaking the tension. While bowing respectfully, Seraphine said, "It is an honor to meet you again, Lord Aji." While feeling amazed, Edwin sensed something was off—why was the leader of the vampire clan not at the palace, but instead diving straight into the field to hunt down the chaotic vampires? Ron understood that Edwin was confused because the vampire leader wasn't at the palace but had instead gone out into the field to hunt down the vampires. "Actually, Lord wanted to handle all of this himself, but we vampire nobles couldn't just sit idly by. In the end, Lucy and I accompanied Lord on his hunt."

Scratching his head and feeling a bit awkward about the situation, Aji replied, "Well... after all, the vampire clan is the guardian of this realm. Especially since my own clan has been contaminated by chaos and has caused a lot of destruction lately." Realizing the magnitude of the problem in the Nusantara realm, Edwin invited Seraphine and her father to discuss the next steps. Seraphine believed that the only appropriate option was to go to Sharakartan to meet with the leader of Dreamcatcher to discuss this matter. However, Aji believed that going to the Dreamcatcher's central location was indeed the right thing to do, but we must prepare and introduce how the Nusantara realm works. Edwin agreed with both opinions, so he suggested that Seraphine help him understand how this world operates and guide him in using the powers he possesses. Ron suddenly joined their conversation, politely asking, "May I share my opinion, Lord?" Aji allowed Ron to speak, and he explained that Edwin's opinion made sense, considering the distance and the time available could be utilized effectively. Lucy adjusted the grip on her scythe, its curved blade still glistening with the remnants of the chaotic vampires' essence. "You'll need more than just an understanding of the realm's politics," she interjected, her voice carrying the weight of centuries. "The corruption spreads faster than we anticipated. If we delay, more villages will burn—and not just by fang and claw."
