It's been days since he last saw any of them and due to the preparations for the dragon ceremony, first years had most of their classes postponed.
Instead of going out, Ryn spent his days in his room reading about dragons and how to become a dragon rider.
A day before the ceremony, all first-year and trial students who had passed got the announcement through their hall masters about a final class with Master Theron. When he heard the news, he was glad because this would be his chance to see Kael again.
When Ryn entered the dragon training fields, it was buzzing with fresh energy. The wide plains shimmered under the morning sun, and the air trembled with heat, wind, and the occasional growl of dragons flying above.
He had woken up early that morning to avoid being late. As everyone lined up according to their teams, Ryn stood among the others, yawning and ignoring the murmurs from other students about him.
