It couldn't be.
Zhao stared in awe as Soryuth flew toward Ryn, the massive wings cutting through the storming sky as the dragon circled protectively around the omega.
Never in his darkest dreams had he imagined that the boy would bond with the Dragon King so quickly. His plan had been flawless—or so he thought.
He had calculated everything and ensured that no one could interfere with what he had set in motion.
The Dragon King was supposed to belong to him, bound to his command, and yet here he was, watching the omega stand in control of the most powerful creature in their world.
His chest tightened with disbelief and anger. Everything he thought he controlled had slipped through his fingers, and now the balance of power had turned against him.
The omega was smarter. Zhao should have known. He should have prepared for this but underestimated him, convinced that Ryn could never form a bond strong enough to call to Soryuth.
Yet again, he had been proven wrong.
