Chapter 13 - Heartwarming Little Attention

The next morning, Claudia woke up from her sleep and she looked at the clock on her phone and found out that it was already 9:15 am.

She was surprised because she didn't expect to wake up late. She had intended to go home early in the morning. She jumped out of bed and walked out of the room, as she thought Davion must have left for work first.

"Damn it, I should have set an alarm so I could wake up early and go home with him," she said with an annoyed sigh.

However, when she walked into the living room she found Davion still there looking at his laptop.

"Mr. Davion? I thought you had left for work first," she said with some surprise.

Because Claudia knew that Davion usually left for work at 7am. But now it was already 9am and he was still there.

"I had intended to do that. But since I promised to take you home yesterday, plus Yohan hasn't returned yet. So I waited for you until you woke up," he replied as he closed his laptop.

She did not expect that Davion would do so, even though he could have woken her up early in the morning to take her home.

However, Davion said that he didn't have the heart to wake Claudia up because she looked exhausted.

"So I guess it's better to just wait for you to wake up than for me to wake you up," he explained.

Hearing his answer made Claudia feel a little guilty because Davion had to go to work during the day.

But at the same time, there was a warm feeling in her heart and also great respect because Davion chose to let her rest.

The man then stood up from his seat and approached her.

"Jane has prepared breakfast for you. Eat your breakfast first and then I will take you home."

The woman nodded her head, then she went to the kitchen to eat the breakfast that had been prepared for her.

They left the Davidson residence after Claudia was done with her meal. When Davion's car came out of the gate, Yohan's car had just returned and he was wondering why his father had just left for work when it was already 10 in the morning.

"Isn't that father's car? Why is he only leaving for work at this hour?" he asked in confusion.

Yohan stopped the car and went inside the house. Inside, he met his servant, an old woman named Jane.

"Jane, why is my father only leaving for work now? Don't you usually leave early in the morning?" he asked.

"About that, because Mr. Davion is waiting for Ms. Claudia to wake up and take her home first," she replied.

Yohan's eyes widened in surprise when he realized that Claudia stayed at his house last night.

"She stayed here last night? Why would she stay overnight?"

"Last night the business with Mr. Bridget finished at almost 10:00 pm. And Mr. Davion told Ms. Claudia to stay overnight because it was dangerous to go home that late. So she stayed over last night until she left the house just now," she explained before leaving to go shopping.

Yohan was really upset and couldn't believe that his father was working with Mr. Bridget. Considering he also really wanted to work with that man, but had no chance to approach him.

"So the important guest you said yesterday turned out to be Mr. Bridget? But he didn't tell me anything, and neither did Claudia."

"The two of them are getting closer and closer and even keeping this a secret from me," he muttered in annoyance as he clenched his fists tightly.

He was sure that the two of them had been working together behind his back, without his knowledge. Yohan was also certain that Claudia no longer trusted him now, which was why she never said anything to him and never replied to his messages.

"That bitch really pisses me off!" he said as he slammed the vase on the table.

CRASH!

"You'll see, I'll make you regret it for the rest of your life, even if you have to crawl under my feet!"

Claudia finally arrived home after Davion drove her home. She got out of the car and thanked him for driving her home.

"No need to thank me, last night you already helped me with my project so this is just a small reward for you."

"I just did what I thought I could do to help you. Thank you again and congratulations on finally having Mr. Bridget work with you," she said.

The dark-haired woman then walked into her house, leaving Davion who was still in his car watching her disappear behind the door.

Somehow his mind was still filled with all the conversations he had with Rowant last night. But since he didn't have time to think about all those things anymore, he tried to dismiss those thoughts and left Claudia's house for the company.

Inside her house, Claudia felt so happy that Davion wanted to take her home.

It was still unbelievable to her that he would even wait for her to wake up.

"What a gentle man. Not like his son who is rude. He even shook my body once because I fell asleep in his car," she said then she lay down on her own bed.

Today she would focus on her work as well so tomorrow she could go back to see Davion to make lunch as usual.

Her eyes closed, and for a moment she remembered the warm embrace Davion had given her yesterday afternoon.

The warm embrace that created a warm feeling inside her as well, made Claudia unable to forget that incident.

She even wished that she could get that hug again from the man she was currently beginning to love.

"Even though he is 20 years older than me, his mature nature is enough to make me very interested. In fact, I think he's the person I've been looking for," she murmured.

Unlike Yohan, he was childish and never understood her. He who thought he was still young and still wanted to play around was playing with other people, namely Claudia.

But right now she was thinking of ways, how to make Davion more honest with his feelings for her.

"Right now he must be thinking about my status with Yohan. If I break up with Yohan suddenly without any reason, he will definitely feel guilty and stay away from me," she said in confusion.

She had wanted to break off her relationship with Yohan after she was reborn.

However, if she did that, she felt at a loss as to what excuse she would give to be able to come to Davion's company and meet him.

"I have to find a way for Yohan to break up with me. But I also have to be careful not to make Davion feel guilty or suspicious. Why would I just accept Yohan's decision to part ways."

Everyone close to them knew that Claudia loved Yohan very much. That's why it must have seemed impossible for Claudia to just accept that they would eventually break up.

Although she also knew that Yohan wouldn't just let her go because he still wanted to use her.

"We'll see who wins this game."
