Just as Rachel was still in a daze, Nora handed her the phone and said, "My dad's calling, he wants to talk to you."
After a moment of hesitation, Rachel took the phone and said softly, "Uncle."
A loving middle-aged man's voice came from the other end of the line. "Allen, thank you! I heard from Nora that she's working at the Marriott now. You must have helped her a lot, right?"
Rachel furrowed her brows and replied, "No."
She hadn't actually helped at all, she had only found out yesterday that Nora had also started working at the Marriott, and even then, Nora had used her own name.
"You're just being modest. Uncle knows you must have helped her a lot. Nora has been spoiled by your aunt, she's a little willful and doesn't know any better. Since you're working at the company, please take care of her more." Grady spoke with affection.
To him, Rachel was naturally very dear. And even though Nora was spoiled, that couldn't change the fact that she was his own daughter.
